I don't even know what gotcha is. I came here to roleplay a sweaty spanish construction worker. *claps* Gotcha Force is a game where kids fight with toy robot things. It's like Power Stone meets Pokemon.

Anytime my neighbors went on vacation they would have me feed their dog and give me 20 dollars for the task..being a teenager I would mostly spend my 20 bucks on video games so after getting paid I went to my local gamestop with my lil brother and Mom. Looked around for a bit and nothing really caught my eye. My lil brother was the one who actually discovered the game first and showed it to me. First glance it did not look appealing to me whatsoever and I told him to put it back...while still looking around I started to think more about the cover and decided to look at it again...slowly I fell in love with what I was seeing and Gotcha Force is now one of the games I play the most!

I believe I got it for Christmas in 6th grade. Needless to say, I instantly fell in love.

A beloved weeb friend of mine from many a year ago was really into Japanese games, and Gotcha Force was one of his go-tos. Little did I know it would eventually be one of mine, and that I'd still go back to it every once in a while. Now, my main driving force behind playing it is to unlock everything.

I saw the trailer in Auto Modellista while fidgeting around with the emulators, and my face was like the meme that pukes rainbows with big eyes. I then tried it, didn't liked it at first, then played again with friends of mine and enjoyed it. I then also unlocked gold hero (twice, normal colour) and really enjoyed that guy - TL;DR: random ad on a game.

GF is like that, even if you hate it, it has something for everyone, you get hooked. unless you just absolutely hate "childish" looking things. even then, my little bro was like that, and gattling gunner changed his mind about GF. also, welcome to the forums. Glad to have you!

As cliche as this story might sound... It's honestly how I came across this game. I was around the age of 9 (I know it was around 2007 or 2008 when I first got the game) and I was at Gamestop, my Mom said I could pick out any game as long as it was $20 or less, and at the time I had the Gamecube. So I was looking through the games and Gotcha Force cached my eye, I picked it up off the shelf and looked at the cover and the back of it. After I read the back of it and saw these things: 1. A Dragon, 2. The large colorful cast of unique characters on the back cover, 3. "200 PLAYABLE CHARACTERS", I was just sold, and as a kid that got me really hyped up to play it! Heh, I remember when I got home with the game, I instantly opened it up, slapped it into my Gamecube and just started playing away. I was addicted to it for quite awhile... Even now I still go back to play it, I still have my Gamecube copy and never sold it. Just in case, I also got Dolphin Emulator with Gotcha Force as well in case the disk wears out or my Gamecube/Wii gets busted. I also heard you can play Gotcha Force on Dolphin Netplay now, so that's another reason I got Dolphin, so I can play Gotcha Force online. Anyways, I'm getting off topic. That's pretty much my story on how I came across this masterpiece of a game.

That cover is lying! Borgs aren't toys, they're mechanical living beings from space! Their trip to earth cost them most of their force so they can only maintain their minscule size. They're not toys!! - Admin

They're not toys!! - AdminHonestly though, calling them toys is better marketing. Collecting toys and having them fight each other is what I did as a kid with actual toys, so that description is right up my alley. I don't know if I would have bought the game if it had said it was about shrinking aliens

Classic Capcom stupidity at its finest. Honestly though, calling them toys is better marketing. I don't know if I would have bought the game if it had said it was about shrinking aliens I guess when you put it like that, but it's still false advertisment. - Admin

Some gamecube hidden gems video I think. Maybe MetalJesusRocks? I don't recall. I couldn't afford an actual disc so I got hold of an iso, tried it in an emulator for about 5 minutes, didn't think much of it, went and played other things. Then yesterday I tried it again but via an actual GC controller on a softmodded Wii and I've been absolutely glued to it since. It's my new favourite. I actually want to collect all of the borgs.

Huh, neat. Glad people are still actually showing off this game to new people with how obscure it is.
