I first found out about Gotcha Force in Nintendo Power magazine. and after watching a few YouTube videos of the game, I decided that I want to play it! and for a while we had no luck finding it! and my luck changed last month when we were at the mall at this video game store. I asked if they have Gotcha Force and to my delight, they said yes and there were two copies and I bought one of them!

I went to game stop in 2003 and saw custom robo and gotcha force right next to each other. I stared for 5 mins then chose custom robo.... one week later saw it again and bought it and played it.... then my friends found out about it. Then we had a little race of getting borgs.... I won! lolololol

Well before I continue, let me just say I have this curse/blessing that occasionally when I see any type of ad for a game, I really want to get it not matter what.
Anyway, this happend when I was in 5th or 6th grade and I looked in a magazine (I think it was Nintendo Power) and saw an ad for this game. I had this compusive want for it but I couldn't find it untill a couple months later by chance in the local game store. I mmediatly bought it, loved it for a while. Sadly with my curse I end up usually selling the games I get because my hopes for them are higher then what the game is (I know what your thinking, how could I think that Gotcha Force would be better then it already is). Anyway I eventually sold it after my first playthrough (also had some bad experiences with games with new game +). Then about a year ago, I found this forum while looking on wikipedia to see if there was any news about Gotcha Force 2. Inspired my want for this game again, manage to get it off ebay about a month later. And you know the rest.
lol, wall of text.
Also if you want to know a couple of other times my compulsive curse gave in was: Arcane Hearts (sold it, havn't bought it again), Bangai-O Spirits (still have have it), and currently for my birthday, Phantasy Star Zero.

I saw robots. I liked robots.
I was also in that phase of childhood where A: Japan could do no wrong, and B: "Mon"-style games were all the rage. So, bright anime with collecting extra characters? Hey, Mom, can I buy this? Please?

In my freshman year of high school, I had some extra cash on hand and nothing to spend it on.
A scope of the gamecube section initially showed nothing interesting, but when I realized something particularly colorful had escaped my view I gave it a second look.
Cute. Colorful. Japanese. Visually appealing, but almost assuredly a generic-brand RPG. But I was bored, so I gave it the turn-around.
Toy vs. Toy shooter? Well, it wasn't an RPG, at least. It had my attention, but I wasn't about to shell out without doing some research. Went home.
No professional reviews were out yet, but the fans seemed to love it. Ok, then.
The next day, I picked it up, and the rest is history.

actually... I had it once before a couple years ago, but returned to afford the Wii. I started to miss it, so I bought it in 2009! Returning it was a foolish mistake I will never make again.

I can't believe it. I actually saw the guy that sold me Gotcha, in a bank today. But we didn't recognize each other. It was my friend that later told me it was him.
