I gave in. Got myself a Protean Froakie off the GTS. Now he's SUZAKU THE WILDCARD. He's easy as heck to OHKO, but the versatility he provides is unmatched, and he can even play around with resistances to survive. It's kinda sad how much better he is than Kecleon, who only has Sucker Punch over Greninja. Well, Kecleon has better defensive stats, its depressing 40 speed aside.
Accelgor EV trained with HP and with Final Gambit is awesome. Also a wildcard in a way. He can sacrifice himself to level the playing field if you're out of options against an enemy.
And... Scyther is pretty crazy. With Eviolite and Roost, the guy tanks anything but rocks like a bigshot and can keep going on like a hero. 120 defenses and great healing. Might super train for HP... Zepheor SCYTHERAVEd (sweeped) four guys from my friend, three which had full HP.
On one hand, I was incredibly lucky he didn't have a weakness on Scyther, which is some crazy luck. On the other hand... Zepheor SCYTHERAVED these guys (including a Mega Lucario) unboosted with only Aerial Ace and Roost... While poisoned halfway through.
With the Eviolite he's pretty incredible in stats, and Technician offputs his lower attack... Having so many common weaknesses and 4x to Rock makes things pretty fair though, I suppose. I wonder if he can shut down Sp. Attackers even effective against him with Struggle Bug, Roost, repeat and sweep.
Oh yeah, Zoroark sucks. And Gallade is stylish and better than Bisharp in my opinion...

...No. You're just using it wrong. Zoroark has great offensive stats, a good ability that helps with sweeping, Nasty Plot, and a diverse offensive movepool.
He's frail, yes, but that can easily be remedied.
Oh, and Sucker punch is invalid since Greninja has Shadow Sneak and Water Shuriken.
Also, Greninja is epic at laying spikes.

Zoroark does have nice offensive stats and speed, but his defenses and HP are a joke. I don't see how he could pull off Nasty Plot without having the enemy fall for Illusion, and even then a heavy hitter can OHKO him with a normally effective attack. As for Greninja, Shadow Sneak isn't that great of an attack really, even though he can get STAB off it, it's still a measly Quick Attack with a different type. Excellent finisher, but even against types weak to Ghost it doesn't really cut it. Water Shuriken would be a great move, if it wasn't so luck based. On average it'd be only a 45 power attack, and in bad cases, even weaker than Shadow Sneak. At most 75... And Greninja is high in speed, so why not just go for Waterfall and its extra flinch chance? I'd just go with Shadow Sneak if anything, because of the immunities it provides with Protean, rather than the attack or priority. And for the record, Kecleon gets it, too  And Stealth Rock. |

Also, Zoroark doesnt need good defense. It has an immunity too you know, and focus sash exists for a reason. |

Gallade is much more refined and fancy than Mega Ampharos can ever hope to be... Notice I didn't say fabulous. Even though I named my Gallade Tauburn. (Look Tauburn up and you'll immediately understand)
As for Zoroark, I dunno, he's never much of a threat to me. The immunity to Psychic is very difficult to exploit, too. Being single type means only one STAB, despite his moveset. I guess focus sash is a thing, but I hate those competitive items because they're just too good at making up for weaknesses, and I like to determine their potential without those gimmicks. But yeah, I've fought some in the Battle Institute, and my friend, and they're always easily disposed. As well as mine that I used a few matches. Illusion is great but also a gamble.
I mean... My Kecleon is more usefu in my experiencel. He can't actually learn Stealth Rock in this game I found out, but he actually has very good Sp. Def, and average Def. and HP. He's weak and terribly slow, but Protean is really nice with that Sp. Def.. and two priority moves. And being Normal type by default, he can generally survive a hit against anything not Fighting, to then use one of his non-priority options. His Attack is just about the same as Greninja... He also can use Trick Room. Or benefit from it. With his measly Speed and Protean, you can ditch the priority moves and he'll generally be able to strike first with Protean switch and STAB.
Unfortunately a lot of my favorites are around 90+ Speed so I don't think I could do that on my team, but he'd be like a more durable Greninja in a team that can utilize Trick Room. Though Hariyama, Bisharp, and Gallade may qualify with Speed lowering natures...

Also mega ampharos is majestic as all get out. Considering amphy is one of my favs anyways im giddy it got a mega. Im currently making mine a tank. Now i just need a way for it to be mega and make zap cannon always hit.
Btw zap cannon looks really stupid. Its just a big lightning ball. Oh well. It has its uses.
Hmmmm. Now i just need a pokemon with an accuracy boosting move.

Also i want to al, but idt i have rain dance's tm, or thunders for that matter. Though a combination thunder field(whatever that move that makes the floor yellow is called) rain dance thunder would be utterly devastating id Imagine. May have to look into that. I think even if i manage to give it those i may keep zap cannon as a super got lucky anime finisher move. Just cause. Im thinking of teaching lapras rain dance, but idk what to give up for it. Brine surf and frost breath are all really good, and STAB, so its looking like sheer cold, but its soo good when it hits /: Gah, i need a fifth move slot! |
