i don't see any reason not to have this thread. I'm quite excited about the internationally simultaneous release. that means the JP crown won't be half a year ahead of us this time ;D i like Xerneas. there's just something so majestic about a proud looking deer thing. also I like the light/sound idea that they're supposedly based on. cool stuff. so who here's gonna get the fire starter?

Does anyone know what the version differences are actually going to be yet? Besides the legendary you get.

Steel no longer resists Ghost or Dark. I don't know how I feel about that.

Steel no longer resists Ghost or Dark. I don't know how I feel about that. So i have to learn to replay the type effective game again? Great thats gonna be enjoyable. Not that it always works anyways what with the attack and def stats factoring in and all but still.

Steel no longer resists Ghost or Dark. I don't know how I feel about that. I am now incredibly angry. Are you sure? I want to see sources.

I knew Froakie's evolution would be epic. I remember similar responses to Oshawott, and from what I see it happened before then with Piplup and Mudkip. Hard to imagine it now, but it's a trend. Water starters have pretty lame to okay base forms and epic evolutions.

Mudkip piplup and oshawott are all adorable.
Froakie looks like a frog. Painted blue. With googly eyes.

Mudkip piplup and oshawott are all adorable. Froakie looks like a frog. Painted blue. With googly eyes. And Oshawott looked like a Otter with Mental issues, and was inferior to Piplup. And Piplup looked like a generic penguin crap, and was inferior to Mudkip. And Mudkip was a bizarre weird "fin thing" that looked stupid, and was inferior to Tododile. Fans are always downgrading the first form of the water starter until they see it evolve. ...Except maybe Tododile-wait, it looks like a retarded crocodile. Squirtle is free from this rule because Pokemon was new then.

Nah squirtle is a blue turtle standing up.
Also mudkip inferior to totodile? Blasphemy! Oshawott inferior to piplup? Also blasphemy!
Joking aside i actually prefer mudkip to marshtomp. Swampert i like, but i still prefer mudkip.
Piplups evolutions look plain stupid.
And samurott, well they missed the mark with him. Its like they tried to mix dewott and swampert and then added a beard and a horn.
I am thinking what i may do is start with chespin, get the dl torchic, and the get a squirtle from the professor guy.
Then again i hate the way chespins evolution looks so idk yet...

Also apparently Ghost-types are immune to Mean Look and analogous moves, Grass-types are immune to Leech Seed (which I don't think is actually new) and what I assume to be just Grass-type status moves in general, and Electric-types can't be paralyzed. Which is by far the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

That imo is a load of garbage.

Nintendo said fairy types were designed specifically to balance out the dragon type which they felt was overpowered. Makes sense that they'd be dragon killers. Also why are you guys bothered that steel doesn't resist ghost and dark anymore? Steel types still resist roughly half the type pool with few weaknesses and an immunity to one of the most annoying types to boot!
