Im not upset by the steel thing. Steel types die fairly easily anyways what with like everything being able to learn fighting moves.
I get that they are to balance dragons, but literally they are weak to like poison. Thats it. Poison. And fighting one with a dragon move is like using tackle on a gengar it does nothing.
It could at least do .5x
I feel like the new balancing thing is going to need to be tweaked.

Is anyone besides me upset that dragons do no damage at all to fairy types? That imo is a load of garbage. Nintendo said fairy types were designed specifically to balance out the dragon type which they felt was overpowered. Makes sense that they'd be dragon killers. Also why are you guys bothered that steel doesn't resist ghost and dark anymore? Steel types still resist roughly half the type pool with few weaknesses and an immunity to one of the most annoying types to boot! I'm actually glad Fairy is solid at countering Dragons. It needed to happen. However, I'd rather it have been other types they removed resistances to.

A little late, but here's your source. Also apparently Ghost-types are immune to Mean Look and analogous moves, Grass-types are immune to Leech Seed (which I don't think is actually new) and what I assume to be just Grass-type status moves in general, and Electric-types can't be paralyzed. Which is by far the stupidest thing I've heard all day. None of that is new... None of it? I could've sworn Electric-types could be paralyzed before. Maybe not with Thunder Wave, but with, say, Stun Spore. Is anyone besides me upset that dragons do no damage at all to fairy types? That imo is a load of garbage. I also find that kind of unnecessary. All the other immunities could be explained rather easily in terms of non-stupid logic, but that makes no sense whatsoever. Also they're already super-effective, having them immune is just overkill. And I bet they're not even going to give Gyarados the typing it's deserved for 10 years even now that it's balanced.

So dark type being super effective against and immune to psychic wasn't overkill? It'll be fine, and even if it does turn up it's a little unbalanced it will still only add to the metagame, then get more balanced and comfortable over future installments.

Itd have the same elec weakness either way but still... Also no it wasnt overkill on the dark types because look at what dark types are weak too. They also are good against ghost whicb was needed. Im not saying i hate that fairy beats dragon. I just hate how broken fairy types are with being immune.

Faries are weak to both poison and steel which can be deadly types and have few resistances past their immunities, and they aren't very effective against some of them. Furthermore none of the currently revealed fairy types (besides xerneas, obviously) seem to be particularly amazing, nor have they revealed any powerful fairy moves. That could all change but right now fairy's don't look all that unbalanced.

So dark type being super effective against and immune to psychic wasn't overkill? Right, I forgot about that particular immunity. But that's a bit different, Psychic-types had no particular exploitable weakness back before the Dark-type because its weakness to Ghost was eliminated by a glitch, Ghosts are rare anyway, and if I remember right the best Bug-type attack was Pin Missile of all things. But 205 Pokémon can learn Ice Beam these days and every dual-type Dragon that isn't Kingdra or Palkia can be hit with two other types super-effectively.* Basically what I'm saying is the Fairy type solves a problem that kind of mostly solved itself already. Which I wouldn't mind so much if its immunity to Dragons actually made any amount of sense aside from "they needed to balance Dragons." *Probably.

Before Fairy, Dragon was only resisted by Steel. Now it can't hit one type, and is resisted by one type. In my opinion, that's still crazy. Dragon types will still rule in battling anyway for their offensive prowess. Give any Dragon a good coverage move (which most of them do not lack good coverage moves.) and it'll be fine.

I feel like dragons are going to be used less and everyone who "competitively" battles will use fairys. So itll be redundant anyways.
But like DE said, dragons were already "balanced" anyways.
In more upset that i have to relearn what beats what again.
I was just mastering the current system.

Thinking about the fact that nothing can quad-resist Dragons, I guess the immunity is kind of the better idea from a balancing standpoint. And maybe if I read more old-fashioned fairy tales all the Fairy type's seemingly arbitrary weaknesses and resistances would make sense, not that I really care enough to do that or expect that statement to make sense. And now I'm really hoping for a Poison-Dragon. And then also one that's not the third legendary, because there's no way the third legendary isn't a Fairy-killing Dragon.

I did a bit of reading up on how obvious it is that the legendaries are Norse mythology-based and now I want a Yggdrasil event legendary. Yes, the tree. It'd be great. Also Níðhöggr is a dragon and hangs around not far from Helheim gnawing on the third root of Yggdrasil so unless they make a Death type it's probably a Poison-Dragon.

That's good for them but they also have only 3 resistances. Steel is still the best Defensive type imo. 8 (I think it's 8 now.) resistances and an immunity with only 3 weaknesses. Also, you guys don't seem to realize how amazing Mawhile's typing is. It only takes beutral from Steel, one of Fairy's weaknesses, and is immune to its other one. It assists against Steel's weakness to fighting, gives a Dark resist and Quad-bug resist. It's only weaknesses are ground and Quad-fire, which can easily be alleviated with Rain ( people did this with Ferrothorn and Scizor last gen.) If Mawhile gets a new evolution, say goodbye to her past obscurity. Oh, and DE, if you want a Fairy-killing dragon, use Dialga. Steel-Dragon.

Mawhile is actually getting one of those new mega evolutions. And in light of that and your points, Mawhile may actually be the best non legendary fairy type revealed so far. And it gets huge power. Amazing.

Why does mawhile gotta be female I thought it could be both genders. Gardevoir can. And it looks female. Except for the japanese name being sirknight... Also i feel like if the lengendaries are based on yggdrasil and such, that there will be a squirell type legendary. And a fox? Oh and that world eating serpent thing that thor fights during ragnarok. Yea that thing.

I know some stuff about norse mythology. I don't recognize Xerneas and Yvetal (or however you spell them) are you sure they're based of norse mythology?

Oh, and DE, if you want a Fairy-killing dragon, use Dialga. Steel-Dragon. It's not that I want a Fairy-killing Dragon specifically, it's that there's pretty much no way a Poison-Dragon isn't the coolest Dragon of all time. But I'm hoping for one that isn't a legendary since there's hardly anything to do with legendaries in-game, what with them being banned from use in every Battle Tower-like thing in the series. Also Roar of Time is awful. Also I just realized I can't soft-reset a billion times for good starter IVs on day one unless somebody magically knows the base stats within 8 hours of the game coming out.

My only worry from these type changes is that it seems like it might put ghost as one of the strongest types now. Think about it, it only has a few weaknesses, one of which is it's own type. Sure it doesn't have a lot of resistances but the fact that it's only weak to a few types, makes it like Dragon in a way. Also the new ability to resist trap abilities like Shadow Tag, probably doesn't help. Anyway I am personally excited for all these new changes, and for every new reveal of this game, it makes me want it even more. I'm probably going to get Y honestly though, Yventail just looks too cool.
