I believe the best grinding spot is outside florem, because there's one encounter with a ton of weak enemies that give you 999JP and a ton of other stuff. Although, it's a fairly rare encounter and easiest to take out with obliterate or even a promethean fire summon... I found the zombies much easier, and when battle bonuses began to build up (This is with the growth egg) I was getting close to 999JP and 9000 EXP per battle. That would be where I'm grinding. That encounter is not as rare as you might think. I'd probably be getting more than that if I had the eggs, and you know you can just set up the entire party to spam crescent moons, right?

I repeat from earlier, Agnes is suicidal. That is all I have to say for now. EDIT: Also mrgrgr. Because mrgrgr. I tend towards using Edea as my on field character... I dunno why, probably because mrgrgr. For me my suicidal character is Ringabel. I have an attack (not Phoenix flight) that brings him down to 1 HP which usually results in his death on the next turn. Then a skill activates that deals damage upon his death, usually dealing 9999 damage, and then on the next turn there's a skill with a high chance of auto-reviving him on the next turn. I choose Ringabel to have this set up because he deserves it. Throughout most of the game he was always the fragile character who constantly died even when everyone else lived. I figured I should put his powers to good use. For me it was Tiz, Agnes was my Spiritmaster with White Mage as her second job, Ringabel was my Black mage who also did summoning (he had nothing better to do XD) and Edea was my Knight! AKA ULTIMATE TANK!! Awww yeah! Anyho she was Knight with either White Mage, Performer or Spiritmaster. My setup with Tiz was the same, he was the Ranger who did (usually) "weak point" damage and overall my physical attacker but because he was so frail he kept getting KO'd so I gave him "See you in Hell" and it was Awesome! He usually got 9999 every time it occurred! In fact, I beat the Final Boss with that Support Ability! XD Eventually I gave him "Armour Lore" then changed his class to Dark Knight then would have Agnes/Edea use Enigama then Tiz would use Dark Nebula then Minus Strike till he got KO'd, once he did it was See you in Hell! ... This game has so many Amazing Strategies!

It is pretty amazing to see how many strategies you can come up with, although dark knight strategies are some of the most fun ones in the game. In any case, now all we need to do is find someone whose Anges died repeatedly throughout the game...

All I have to say right now is this. Chapter 6: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! All I can say is, be sure to talk to the sage at every opportunity you get. You've got a long road ahead. I believe chapter 7 is the best time to start refighting and stealing from the asterisk bosses.

Also, I'm not interested in the Conjurer job.

Yes you are, because it has skills very useful for grinding, which you'll need to do on hard difficulty, and the quest line you take to get it will help keep your sanity in tact because it's something different with story elements, including clues on how to beat the game, not to mention the boss fight itself which is pretty cool. The conjurer is also an amazing job in its own right.

Yes you are, because it has skills very useful for grinding, - If this is the main battle-related reason to get it, I'm not interested. Grinding aint difficult. which you'll need to do on hard difficulty, and the quest line you take to get it will help keep your sanity in tact because it's something different with story elements, including clues on how to beat the game, not to mention the boss fight itself which is pretty cool. Please try to understand, the the order of events in this game became a blur to me at this point. Just visit the sage regularly, if there's not a quest marker than he'll give you clues. I believe you'll start the quest when you visit the house and he isn't there. All other events with him don't go towards obtaining the job.

So I've calmed down a bit from my rage at this game and will now admit that the true ending PISSED ME OFF. Total sequel set-up cliffhangerish stuff. That aside, I did enjoy a lot of the game. Even on hard the game was easy...right up until the last boss(es). Good god I got my *** kicked. The Airy battle from the normal ending was easy. My party's sitting at level...75 I think it was? and I turn off encounters to re-go through the dark aurora. Airy battle: Turn 1: Slaughter *Team is all OHKO'd.* ...what? That can't be right. *Airy Battle - Take Two:* Blah blah blah, does normal stuff for a few turns, Acedia Zeta Flare boom dead. Plague *Party dies*
At this point I try on easy. Lol Acedia Zeta Flare OHKO anyway.
And thus I went to grind in my tried and true grinding spot (oh btw I didn't get Conjurer. Grinding was still fast.)up to level 90. I decided my team needed a rehaul, so I experimented with a bunch of setups until I found one that worked really well. I typed it up to remember it. Here it is:
Ringabel Lv.87 - Pirate/Swordmaster My damage dealer. Default to 3 BP, Free Lunch, 7 Amped Strikes. Rinse, Repeat. The only one who I didn't have a safety ring for nullifying death for, so he died pretty frequently in the Airy fight. For Ouroboros I found Inoculate can nullify death though, so he was fine then.
Edea Lv. 89 - Knight/Templar My sub-damage dealer/the ultimate tank. Edea went back to her roots from the beginning of the game and shrugged off Armageddons and Zeta Flares like a poke to her iron-clad, indestructable face. Combined with another skill of Agnes, her HP reached OVER 23,000 HP. Combined with decent M.Def and about 400 Defense, she shrugged off EVERYTHING. Super Charge used her massive defense to become another way of smacking around the bosses, and Templar is for Rampart. She was the only one who didn't die in the Airy or Ouroboros fights.
Tiz Lv. 89 - Spiritmaster/White Mage Self-Explanatory. He didn't change at all the entire game really. Had group cast all for full party shells and revives.
Agnes Lv. 88 - Salve Maker/Templar The glue to the entire team. Giant's Draft to double everyone's HP, Inoculate to protect Ringabel from Death Magic, Reraise compounds, buffs, a second Rampart user...Agnes had it all. She was why the entire team wasn't OHKO'd by Armageddon, why Ringabel was able to do his job, etc...what I'm saying is that, with the money and resources, Salve-Maker is clearly the best class in the game.
I liked the normal ending more. It didn't involve Tiz suddenly saying enogmatic words and falling on his face. Though I must say...this game is fantastic. It's definetly not without its flaws (Frustration in the second half, abusable battle system, repetitive music) but it accels in many of those same areas (the music is all very solid, the story is good(still infuriating), great battle system that is very strategic (on hard)) I was too harsh on this game initially however. It's a very good game, but also one of the most frustrating games I've ever played.

If you want frustration you should try going to the optional dungeon and fighting the boss within. You have to go through a wall in the last area of the dungeon containing the Durandal Sword. I don't remember getting too frustrated by any of the final bosses, although I did die at the last moment during the Ouroboros fight and that was a pain. Agnes was my white mage/Spiritmaster, and I believe it was the skill enigma that nullifies all magic damage. If I knew that Airy was going to cast her powerful magic, I pretty much made her spells a complete joke.
The true ending is pretty good, but the best twists are revealed in the normal ending, leaving not much else but Ouroboros himself in the final fight. Otherwise I liked a lot of the concepts in this one, such as the friend summon system actually being integrated into the plot. It was also pretty trippy when I came to the realisation that Ouroboros wanted to invade the real world.
I have to admit, I love this game and I wouldn't really mind if there wasn't a sequel despite the teaser, but I haven't really been thinking about this game as much as I thought I would be, and I haven't played it since I beat the optional boss. I'm glad you took some time to re-consider your perspective. Also, I agree. Even if the Salve Makers could literally use nothing but the giants draft, I would still call them the best class in the game.

Also, I know about the Adventurer. You've mentioned him before. (I also kinda figured that was where the Durandal was since you had it and I could see that with the special attack you sent me, along with some katana that I assume is also in there.) I couldn't do it even if I wanted to though. I sold the game in my frustration of it. I may buy it again one day...but while it was indeed a great, great game, I probably won't play it again for a very long time. Enigma is great and all...except (Penultimate Boss) uses Acedia before Zeta Flare, which removes the nullification and makes you weak to everything. That's what makes the attack hurt. I didn't have any trouble with (Final Boss), just (Penultimate Boss) Mentioning of boss, this song is still so much boss. It's probably among my top 5 favorite boss themes of all time. Also, you do know a sequel has already been announced, right? EDIT2: Damn. I just found this...and that start gave me bloody chills on the level of MK8's ending sax, Hellfire's ending, and Magolor. And that's some intense chills for me.
