Spritmaster/white magic sub is my favourite job combination. Mainly because spirtmasters look awesome. Arcanist is probably my least favourite job though. Who the heck would use the zero ability? I'm not seeing how Alternis sounds like Ringabel, Alternis is angst ridden and gruff whereas Ringabel is... Ringabel. Alternis uses a bow? No, he uses a blood red katana in fights. Oh wait, unless you meant bow as in the motion. That would make more sense. 1. You have said how much you like that combo before. 2. Zero is good if you're using the ability with a summoner and control your MP amount to start with a 0, since all summon spells are multiples of 10. 3. Arcanists have the highest M.Atk of any character and do a crapton of damage. What's not to like? 4. I don't mean in his words, I mean I'm pretty sure they have the exact same voice actor. 5. I do mean the motion. EDIT: and now we murdered the Grand Marshall. yay. EDIT2: Oh wait, unconscious and crippled. Never mind. EDIT3: WHOALY SHAT RINGABEL=ALTERNIS I ONLY PARTIALLY SAW THAT COMING YET I HAVE NO IDEA HOW. EDIT4: And just like that the next chapter starts, and it's like our adventure has started all over again. SO MANY QUESTIONS! EDIT5: WHAT. NO, THEY DID NOT DO THIS. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. ...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We have to do it all over again!? EDIT6: So many edits. At least we still have our ship but...why? Also... I renamed Ringabel to Alternis and made him a Dark Knight just for the heck of it. If names carry to the send/summon system maybe I'd troll some person new to the game and maybe they'd think that Alternis was an unlockable character?

In all seriousness, ask me if you want tips with which to preserve your sanity. I can't tell you everything, but here's some stuff right out of the bat: For the temple bosses, go to easy. You've beat them once and you don't need to go through them again. The lich boss can be killed immediately by activating bravely second and using an elixer/megaelixer on him. Wait for a few chapters until you re-fight the asterisk bosses, unless you're curious/happen to like those characters. Also in chapters 6/7 make sure you visit the sage and do what he tells you to do. He'll make you go through a bunch of crap for a job. You can fight the vampire any time. And, most importantly of all, the absolute, number one rule for beating the game: Airy doesn't lie.

Considering the way you act about it, I'm pretty sure there's probably multiple endings to this game and the best one you get by trusting Airy. Good to know about the lich boss by the way. I'll have a SP built up for that one. Are the bosses and normal encounters the same level as before? Should I bother fighting them? Also don't you need 6 keystones for the Vamp? I'm thinking of going there ASAP because I heard there's a blood sword in there and I was thinking of getting it for Ringabel Alternis. EDIT: *upgrades weapon shop in norende* Night Emperor...sounds pretty cool, might be good for Ringabel since it's a sword- *Sees it is worth 99999 pg and is miles stronger than my current weapon.* graaaaah, but it's still like 100 points weaker than Edea's Axe! That thing is packing like 400 power for god's sake, and it was FREE!

The bosses are stronger, and they get progressively stronger each chapter. Wait until 7/8 though, they'll start grouping together in odd and hilarious parings, they'll become ridiculously difficult, and most importantly, stealing items from them gives you some of the best equipment in the game. Don't worry too much about the night emperor, it's a great sword but there's a better one that you can find for free, and the strongest sword in the game is a katana. Save up pg for a golden egg and a growth egg.
I'm going to send you a special move soon, sit tight. I'll probably be about 10/20 minutes.

Maybe I should've level'd up more. EDIT: Or rather, I have a strategy that can kill it in two turns, but it all hinges on Edea staying alive, which she can't quite seem to pull off. Switching Angus to a Salve-Maker just for the ability to double her HP now. Should work. EDIT2: Third time's the charm. Got it.

Ok, if you update again you should hopefully get my new special move. I did the best I could. Bear in mind that it will only deal 9999 damage outside of bravely second.
Nice Ringabel, by the way. I just got a japanese dark knight Tiz who hits for 797971 damage. Damn.

EDIT: Okay, so Ringabel is down to 1 HP. Good, now to- *enemies get first strike and KO Ringabel* -_-

So instead I decided to be a troll and send a super-boosted Dark Nebula. I feel bad for the poor fool who uses that and gets his entire party KO'd. I had to use a spirit ward just so someone on my party would even live through it lol. EDIT: *Gets Al's thing* *57,000 HP attack* ...yeah, saving this for when I have SP.

I love how we both renamed Ringabel Alternis. I'll be changing it back though since the voices still say Ringabel. Plus I like the melodist outfit, so... Also, hooray I just beat the ba'al turtel dove! It was a difficult fight. Now I just have to kill that damn adventurer... I refuse to use friend summons to one hit KO him. It gave me an unearthly bun, which raises all stats by a random amount (ranging from a 1-3 increase, and 100-500 increases for HP and Mp or something) Used it on the fragile Edea and she gained the minimum amount of bonuses. I should post my party. Everyone is level 99 and everyone has job level 14 for what they have equipped. Edea: Conjurer*/summoner: Prolong support/steady mp recover/magic critical/summoning amp. Equipment: Demon's rod, Ageis shield, Gold hairpin, lordly robes, soul of Thamasa, no costume. Not sure if I like the Edea's garb or the standard conjurer outfit better. *Conjurer has a significantly higher intelligence stat than the Arcanist, making it the best magic user in the game. Arcanist has slightly higher mind and agility, and much lower strength/vitality and MP. Arcanists are awful, but you didn't know that. Tiz: Templar/salve maker: Default guard/Dual shields/absorb damage/angelic war/absorb MP damage. His skill set up is a work in progress, but it works. Equipment: Bloody shield, bloody shield, Crystal helm, Crystal mail, Heike gloves, onion shirt. I prefer the templar look, but bloody shields don't look good with templars, they do with onion knight. Ringabel: Dark Knight/Freelancer: See you in hell/rise from the dead/BP limit up/ Dual wield. Equipment: Durandal, Ama-no-Murakumo, Crystal helm, crystal mail, hyper braces, melodist's shirt. Agnes: Spiritmaster/white mage (OMG WHO SAW THAT COMING!?!?!): Holy one/ steady MP recover/BP limit up/magic critical. Equipment: Demon's staff, Aegis shield, Ribbon, Lordly robes, barrier shroud.

SEE YOU IN HELL ADVENTURER!!! YEEEEEEAAHHH!!! BEAT HIM! As the battle wore on and his HP was low, I had to carefully watch his and the foxes HP to make sure they were about even so that Edea could kill them off with Deus Ex. I made a miss calculation with Ringabel however and he ended up raging them unevenly, meaning that the fox had slllightly more HP. Edea was about to finish them off, possibly leaving the fox alive, but the adventurer killed Ringabel (who I hadn't bothered to use giants draft on) and he killed them BOTH at the same time using see you in hell, which pretty much always hits for 9999 HP! Hooray best win ever! The game just gives you something called the adventurers mark, and it does nothing. Oh well, bragging rights. When he beats you, you don't get a game over. Instead he just says what a lot of fun he had during the battle. His dialogue is not any different if you beat him, and it looks like you can challenge him repeatedly? In any case he's sooo affably evil it hurts! (or maybe just a genuinely nice guy and I'm ascribing the evil label because he's so tough) Oh well, the satisfaction is high regardless. The battle with him is almost up there with Lucifer from DS. Almost, but not quite. Done, I also posted my team. You weren't kidding when you said your Ringabel was suicidal. I'm surprised though; no blood blade? It'd probably make Rage last longer. Or not. I'm not sure. I think I sold it off, and I can't be bothered to fight the dragons again to see DeRosso. I'm not even sure if he's hanging out at the castle anymore. Then again it would probably ruin my rage + minus strike strategy, in that minus strike would be weaker. Not to mention the weapon is probably pretty weak at this point.

Not to mention the weapon is probably pretty weak at this point. Your strength doesn't matter if you still hit 9999s, I saw a strategy someone used where they had a "BP battery" who gave the Dark Knight BP to make up for Rage's high cost, and let the Dark Knight use Rage twice two turns in a row. The Blood blade kept the health from reaching one and each Rage did FIVE attacks, all doing 9,999 damage, basically doing 100,000 damage total in ONE TURN. Unless you have SP, your damage doesn't matter if you're doing at least 9,999, and more hits are better. Just throwing out suggestions from what I've seen. That aside, I only recently remembered about Auto Battle, and I found a nice grinding spot... I've been grinding for roughly an hour now with three people with crescent moons set up so I can just repeatedly KO everything without taking damage. ...My party has grown about 20 levels and many, many job levels.

I wouldn't recommend grinding until you have the eggs. You can get them from Norende, otherwise you should play the game normally in my opinion. Though I DO remember chapter five being one of the largest difficulty spikes in the game. In any case, find time for DeRosso and keep soldiering on! I believe in you! Before the final boss though, you should definitely grind to level 99.
Thanks for the blood blade tip- I didn't think of that, even though I already use BP up (which raises the maximum to 4) I didn't even know the blood blade had a draining effect, it went completely over my head. ... which is a shame, because I think now I'll have to start a new playthrough to get the blood blade back.

SAVE REGULARLY BY THE WAY! Remember those 20 levels I gained? Yeah! I wasn't paying attention, the enemy got a first strike, and I DIED, and lost them all. I suppose that's what happens when all your characters aren't wearing any equipment to abuse Natural Talent. *Loads file back up* *Back to level 48* *cries* I'm done for today.

That's suicide! Wait to grind in that case. Wait for the eggs and grinding skills, such as obliterate which you get from the last job. Merchants also get pay off, which isn't that great... Also if you go to the third continent, or the grandship dungeon, you'll find zombies who you can kill very quickly with cure spells, so long as you have holy one or something. Just make sure to head back to grandship to save and heal.

Also, unless your grinding spot gives more than (on average) 6,000 EXP and pg, I'm really interested, especially since I actually would have to go back and forth because magic. (Natural Talent isn't suicide; I didn't get OHKO'd, I just wasn't paying attention.)

I believe the best grinding spot is outside florem, because there's one encounter with a ton of weak enemies that give you 999JP and a ton of other stuff. Although, it's a fairly rare encounter and easiest to take out with obliterate or even a promethean fire summon...
I found the zombies much easier, and when battle bonuses began to build up (This is with the growth egg) I was getting close to 999JP and 9000 EXP per battle.
