I don't mean I read past tense. I mean with every new update to the journal, I read it.

I don't mean I read past tense. I mean with every new update to the journal, I read it. I'm not talking about the bestiary, the character bios, item bios, tutorials, or anything else that gets updated I'm talking about the enigmatic writings, which don't get updated because you have it all from the beginning. This stuff: Only resource of this I could find on the internet after a minute of looking.I didn't see any spoilers on the web page, it should be safe to click.

I'm going to attempt to fight the optional post game boss tonight. I'm probably going to lose.

I thought you gathered that.

Fudge, half an hour spent whittling down that guy's insane amount HP (and the bosses instantly reviving partner constantly casting blind on me) for a swift loss. The longer the fight went on the more he spammed more attacks at once, and more importantly, magic attacks when he had only been using physical (which I can nullify, I can nullify magic too but it's slightly harder to pull off, especially since Agnes needs to heal) On the plus side... I think I know how to beat him next time.
Steve, take heed, if you want to tackle the end game (or even the final boss) on hard difficulty make sure you grind to level 99 first, then weep when you realise that in order to win the fights you have to be either skilled at the game with very few shortcuts, or debase yourself by turning down the difficulty to normal.

Well of course. The game has a low level cap for a reason. That aside, I'm starting a second file to see how quickly I can do things. I did the entire intro chapter in 20 minutes. Skipping Cutscenes saves a ton of time, The Monk+WM fight isn't difficult, Crowe can be demolished with a party of 2 monks, Edea and a white mage, and Heinkel fell in one turn to four black mages all braving to four attacks and using thunder. It was rather pathetic, to be honest. That aside, main reason I did it was to see how much of a disc one nuke this angel bow really is. That and I want to make my party differently.

Why not wait for the second playthrough to do that? You'll probably regret doing that, even if you can blitz through it fast. And wow you were playing on hard right?

It was a bit insulting to me, to be honest, how easily a party of Black Mages swept through the early game. Also, I randomly got a Ba'al: Dove or something in my village... My reaction: HOLY SH*T WHAT THE F*** IS THAT!?!?!? I legitimately don't cuss very much, but the thing freaked me out since it was all before I decided to see what it looked like.

Yay! I finally managed to beat that damn boss. It took me just under an hour, but I did it! Phew, now all I need to do is finish off that stupid fox companion of his who had been constantly reviving throughout the battle. This wont take long, I've already killed him like 10 times. Hey, do you know WHAT WOULD SUCK? If the adventurer can revive the fox, wouldn't it be a MASSIVE, STUPID, ANNOYING, PAINFUL, AGGRAVATING DICK MOVE to have it so that the fox can ALSO revive the adventurer at full HP, essentially resetting the fight?
*The fox does just that.*
... I'M DONE WITH THIS GAME...
... for this evening... looks like I have to kill them both at the same time.

*On new file, lets 3DS sleep and unlocks Angel Bow right as I unlock Theif, the first class that can use it well.* *Angel Bow proceeds to sweep everything.* This thing is most definetly a disk one nuke... *Looks at level at the end of going through the first run of the Temple of Wind* *Entire party is level 20* I think I'm a bit- *Looks at main file* *Entire party is still sub-30 and is in the middle of chapter 3* -overleveled... ...yeah I'm turning off random encounters for a bit. Using +100% encounter rate through the temple of wind was great due to all the pg and EXP I got (my Mages are already job level nine >_> ) but I think I'm a bit too OP right now... Khint and the Merchant fell in about 3 turns and I wasn't even overleveled then...one critical hit did like 1500 damage, a quarter of his health on hard. too OP. I can only imagine how much worse it will get once I get the job that's actually intended to use bows. Though I suppose, while strong still, the Angel Bow will be less effective by then.
EDIT: I actually did have party memebers die because my defense is pitiful due to the fact I used all my money at the time on an angel bow, and all my deaths were to first strikes since Ringabel (he's the one with the bow) went first every time due to thief speed and OHKO'd everything. I haven't bought any equipment (aside from the angel bow) since Edea joined my party (I'm about to buy plenty though!) and just from the temple of wind, my pg now sits at about 12,000. I'm definetly getting my party some armor that DOESN'T suck.

Do you still have me added as a friend on the new file? If not I'll connect again and send you something actually useful this time.

It was awesome." - #Ringabel2014 Because mainstream hashtag crap. EDIT: Here's a way to get through one of the level 99 nemeses without even trying (this battle was set on auto after the first command.) I found it rather amusing.

Wait, you can fight Holy and Baras as a Nemses battle? How? Also should you really be looking up videos like that, looks like you could be in for some spoilers if you're not careful.
EDIT: Never mind just looked it up, it was a valentines nemeses. Looks like I missed the chance to fight them. Oh well.
I'll send you something soon.

EDIT: Never mind just looked it up, it was a valentines nemeses. Looks like I missed the chance to fight them. Oh well. I'll send you something soon. Should've been on. Also I know what I'm doing. I only specifically looked them up since I have them in my Norende. EDIT: Whoa nelly, finally went and read the Red Reports. Red Advent (<); That downer khint refused to come aboard our plan to plunder eternia. we'll have profiteur deal with him. and strike the orthodoxy treasury as planned. we'll incite the hostages to martydom in order to furnish a scapegoat, qada will ready every compound he can, and the fools will all die where they stand...
So then it looks like there's really three "sides" to this whole ordeal; The Orthodoxy, these guys, and the Grand Marshall with the council of six. So the main bulk of Eternia has turned on its leader? That's pretty crazy if I'm right. It only reinforces my theory that the duchy's main group are the good guys, since the main thing standing in the way of that was all the crap the lower subordinates were doing. Or maybe the Grand Marshall is even on their side and the subordinates are the ones who are the evil ones? This game just keeps having me thinking, I love it! That aside, I abandoned my first file since I've pretty much caught up on my new file now, made less crappy descisions since I knew what I was doing, and I'm about 8 levels higher. Now coming on the end of chapter 2.

I have to double post this, it was just too good. So even my big attacks now sit around the 1500-2000 mark. I decided my summon needed a new update, so I updated it by using Ringabel (now a Valkyrie) and his new special move, Eclipse (Horizon) Happened to send it, and I did 9999 damage to the poor random encounter with a crit. And this random monster was at my level too! I just find it funny I did 9999 damage to something at level 32. So now at the end of chapter 2 this time my team is this: Level 34 Ringabel - Valkyrie: Sub: Thief(Because Life Thief is too good to ignore) Level 34 Edea - Knight: Sub: Freelancer (She's exactly like the other one.) Level 34 Tiz - White Mage: Sub: Time Mage (Also exactly like the other one.) Level 34 Agnes - Summoner: Sub: Black Mage (Summon amp does some crazy damage but my MP is gone in no time at all. MP free in a pinch would really help her.)

Well, you've killed Khint and proffiteur so there's little chance of any sort of rebellion taking place now.
It's pretty funny to see you already doing that much damage at this point. Although, I'd remove summon amp at this point. Running out of MP can be suicidal, it will be a long time until you'll acquire ways to keep your MP up indefinitely as you use vast amounts of it.

Nearing the end of chapter 4 now (I think.) The Victoria/Victor fight was an interesting fight, one of the harder ones really. Default to 3 BP, use Pirate's Amped Strike + Mimic 3 times took out Victor in two turns just from the Pirate attacks alone. Victoria was a bit troubling, but I actually downgraded my armor so I could equip armor that gave my party poison immunity since I actually died on my first attempt because of Exterminate. Corpse was a bit troubling too since I didn't know how to counter it since Esuna didn't cure it, but I used my SP to revive people so I wouldn't waste turns and she fell without too much trouble. My party is now: Ringabel - Level 45: Valkyrie: Sub Sword Magic Edea - Level 45: Pirate: Sub Freelancer Tiz - Level 45: White Mage: Sub Time Magic Agnes - Level 45: Arcanist: Sub Black Magic
Once Tiz finally gets his WM job level to 14 I'm making him a Spiritmaster. Good god the first 7 or 8 job levels go by quickly, but after that they take so long.
Also, Alternis sounds exactly like Ringabel...only under heavy armor. I didn't notice it until his conversation with the Grand Marshall after you free your party from captivity. EDIT: Come to think of it, his animations are the same as Ringabel's as well. Their bows in particular are identical. Oh and they talk about a "secret behind the crystals" offscreen. That's great. :u I wanted to know, though my theory is only becoming more correct as the story advances.

Spritmaster/white magic sub is my favourite job combination. Mainly because spirtmasters look awesome. Arcanist is probably my least favourite job though. Who the heck would use the zero ability?
I'm not seeing how Alternis sounds like Ringabel, Alternis is angst ridden and gruff whereas Ringabel is... Ringabel.
Alternis uses a bow? No, he uses a blood red katana in fights. Oh wait, unless you meant bow as in the motion. That would make more sense.
