My favorite part of E3 was watching the Pokken DX Tournament If you skip to 31:30 then you'll know what it's like to have beaten the Elite Four

^ Average Nintendo fanboy reconfirmed. I do agree Nintendo's was the best, but I think there were some other strong showings. Monster Hunter World, Gundam Versus (and coming to the West), Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, to name a couple... Shadow Of the Colossus remake... then there's stuff like God Of War 5, which while I don't care about, I have to admit looks pretty good. I thought this was actually one of the strongest E3s yet, it had so much next-gen quality stuff. But seriously, can we stop and think about how amazing Monster Hunter World looks? No? Anyone? Oh well, I figured I'd be alone on the hype for it. I didn't watch E3 this year. Since I already knew about Odyssey and Xenoblade 2, which I am excited for, the only new thing that was announced at E3 this year that I cared about was Metroid Prime 4, and they didn't show anything about that. I was mostly just mildly disappointed that From Software didn't announce anything, but maybe we all needed a break from them considering they had been releasing a new game every year for the past couple years. Probably the first time I haven't even been able to pretend to care about E3 when my favourite companies announce games in their own time anyway. Have you heard of Code Vein? I was going to mention this above, but I figured better to direct it in response to this. It's not a From Software game, but it's essentially Dark Souls in an anime theme, the gameplay looks close to identical. Looks a little more grim than I thought, but I'm actually really hyped for it, though I'm hoping it will have multiplayer, as so far it looks very narrative-driven. Oh yeah, I saw the Code Vein trailer on ANN the other day. I thought it looked pretty cool. The aesthetic reminded me of God Eater but instead of the gameplay looking similar to MH, yeah it looked more like a Dark Souls thing. Haven't looked into it too much but sure, it looked kinda neat. What's MH World? I haven't looked into it at all.

Nah, there were some great things to come out of the others as well (most notably the new Monster Hunter, as you mentioned, along with the Shadows of the Colossus remake), but when Capcom creates a blunder like Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, it kind of put a damper on Sony's conference for me. Bethesda was literally just "hey have more Skyrim" along with paid mods, XBox was "ehh" and didn't show much, and I think Ubisoft had the next best showing as nothing really fell flat and there were a lot of good things there (even though I'm not interested in most of it personally). I can't think of anything outright bad that came out from Nintendo's end (though the new Kirby game looks very same-y), whereas with the others I can point to one or more things, with the exception of Ubisoft. Ubisoft didn't pull Metroid Prime 4 out of nowhere, though. As someone who, frankly, is quite a bit of a Nintendo fanboy, I'm glad to see they did so well this year. Last year was horrible.

Monster Hunter World is the series' first real leap into consoles since Tri, and also looking to be the biggest change in the series so far. It looks beautiful and dynamic, and has more hunting-esque world features. I'm not sure if it's open world, but it's been confirmed so far that there's no more loading screens, so the maps are essentially one big hunting zone. It also has drop-in multiplayer, though still has lobbies too. It's looking very different, showing stuff like grappling hooks and shooting a bowgun like a machine gun while moving, but it's looking pretty amazing. My only concern is that they haven't shown any real combat yet. I have some faith they know what they're doing though, all the past fourteen weapons are returning too, so I don't think combat will be drastically different.
(Should skip to 0:30~)
A bit nervous to see how it goes down ultimately, but so far it's extremely promising, and a great change of pace that the series has needed (with how Generations/X was received despite having so much content and gameplay perks). Really liking the hunter-world vibe I'm getting, and how much focus is in the environment.
I can agree with that, it's just that your wording of 'eh' and 'laughable' made it seem like there was nothing of note at all from other companies. I am disappointed that Capcom didn't give us something totally new (especially after hints of DMC news), too, but even if MvCI is somewhat of a rehash, I'm still glad what it means for the fighting game community.

Oh, MvCi isn't bad because it's a rehash, it's bad because the graphics are near-dreamcast levels of awful, and because they promised that the Marvel roster would be varied when the entire Marvel cast are characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That's why my impression of MvCI made Sony's conference drop to a "meh". It was such a horrible letdown that the great things that came didn't really make up for it, as MvCI was by far the thing I was most hyped for.

as i fel like i am representing Microsoft Xbox department here. based on exclusives (as that should be the only way to judge a console) it seams like there plan is quantity over quality. i watched the whole E3 Brief mixer. I think they have 22 exclusives, Forza is always good headline act, Crackdown tries to be a headline act and fails catastrophically. Robocraft is coming over so thats good.
It seams like Microsoft is massively out gunned buy Nintendo and Sony this year.
in there corners Microsoft has one main headline act, its normaly a very good one but its only one. Forza Motorsport 7
Sony has a fair few. Persona 5 Gran Turismo somethin think they have a few others
Nintendo the normal suspects.

PS4 Monster Hunter? About time, sold. I'd play that with you all day. MH is meant for a big screen and a dual shock 4.

i think before assuming Sony's headline acts i should have watched there press conference. Nintendo was sorta predictable, positively.

I'd understand saying it was meh, but predictable? Two Metroid games and a pokemon game on the switch after they just announced new 3DS pokemon games is predictable? I want your powers of clairvoyance.

Pokemon more or less same story. that is where i get predictable from. as much im on team Xbox, Nintendo do tend to out gun em. at least Nintendo dosnt try to put all of its eggs in on basket.

So the English version of Fate Grand Order launches in a couple of hours. I'd recommend checking it out if you're a Nasuverse fan.

Possibly also will get mario kart? Im not gonna buy it until pokken drops tho, just get everything at once that way. ( hopefully they'll have worked out the screen warping issue by then if they haven't already. 😅 (I really need to keep up with stuff better...))

Can't wait for RE: Revelations to come out on the Switch. I played the Wii U version for thousands of hours. The online co-op is just so addicting. If anyone here has a Switch when it comes out, I'd love to play online with you guys. - Admin
