I was under the impression that Bravely Second was going to have some real time elements? Juding by the footage though, the gameplay and setting seems to be the same, though. I wonder how they'll shake things up both narrative and gameplay wise? I'm guessing that there will be more of a difference between the parallel worlds this time around? Like not just the same characters in slightly different circumstances this time around. Seems like the best way to introduce completely new locations

The beta testing for Dungeon Fighter Online is going to be released on March 24! www.dfoneople.com/I think it's an interesting idea, having an MMO fighter. Sounds awesome

Apparently, Bladestorm Nightmare is coming to PS4 this week. This is the first I've heard of it, though it was apparently announced at least sometime late last year.
I don't know the system too well since I haven't actually played the original PS3 one, but it definitely shows its roots as a modified Warriors game. Rather squadron/platoon based, it seems, unit types and advantages and specials.
. . . Also, evil Jeanne D'Arc.

Dungeon Fighter Online is finally out for its open beta! If you like the style of old school beat em' ups, then check it out! Not only does it have a lot more moves than the old school games, it's also an MMO! I've played an hour of it so far, and I like how this game has he potential to be big competitively, but still retains that old school, party beat em up feel. also it'd be cool to have friends on here ._. www.dfoneople.com/

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem...
At first, I had no idea what this was, as I either didn't notice the Atlus logo at the start, or they didn't show it in the actual direct until the end. After my initial confusion, thought it was a Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid/Idol game, (the extremely upbeat J-Pop playing in the background didn't help, although it wasn't vocaloid I guess) then I thought it was a Yugi-oh 5Ds game. Then I thought it was a Persona knockoff with a tournament anime bent to it, then at the end I saw the Atlus logo and flipped my sh*t. I suppose when I imagined 'SMT X FE' I imagined a game that basically looked identical to Shin Megami Tensei IV, if you replaced the Samurai look of Mikado with, well, Fire Emblem. I was expecting the grays and reds of SMT to be invaded by Fire Emblem characters who looked more Radiant Dawn than Awakening. This really caught me off guard. This feels more like Fire EmblemXPersonaXVocaloid.
I'm warming up to this trailer, however, although it hasn't actually shown any characters from previous games yet, which is what the first trailer teased. It's got a very neon look with a persona feel, and I really like the idea of combing the look of the fire emblem series with the magic and modern look seen in SMT. It all looks colourful, but you get a real distinction between the real world and the fantasy world, which is apparently what this game is about. Since Persona 5 seems to be going down a 'grittier' path, this game could be a nice alternative for those who wanted another Persona game like Persona 4.
I think I'll have to look at the trailer some more. Heck, maybe I'll analyse it like I did the Persona 5 trailer... although not as much is shown here, it seems, and it all goes by pretty fast.
EDIT: Ok I'll ramble some more. So the end of the trailer shows a city that's been flooded, although the water looks like blood. Very thin, watered down blood, so I assume things wont be too hunky-dory. The character who I assume is the MC looks very fabulous, and he reminds me a lot of Marth, only in metal and stuff, notably that metal gauntlet. He's also wielding a sword that doesn't look at all like anything seen in either series. The over-world does the Penguindrum thing where unimportant humans walking around are represented by abstract human shapes. What looks like the London eye covered in neon colours can be seen in the background of one image, but otherwise the setting seems to be not only Tokyo, but super-mega-ultra-neon Tokyo.
The battle system looks... flashy, but pretty standard, and not really reflective of either SMT or Fire Emblem. There aren't any press-turn system and we're not talking strategy gameplay, this is turn-based JRPG. There seems to be a turn-order thing at the top of the screen indicating that that... will be important. I'm sure it will be fine, but I suppose I was expecting something along the lines of Devil Survivor gameplay.
You know what? This looks really different, actually. I'm actually really hyped, and now that I've had the time to think about it, I'm happy to be getting something that looks so completely insane that it can't possibly be uninteresting, even if the game doesn't turn out too well in the end. I'm sure Persona 5 will be a better game, but SMTXFire Emblem... I haven't seen originality and energy quite like this in the JRPG scene in quite some time.
EDIT 2: Oh, one more thing. While the characters seem to have a fantasy form (metal fire emblem) and a real world form (read: Uniforms) I also noticed that the protagionist was wearing his uniform in some overworld shots and a jacket in the last. Does this mean customiseable outfits? Or will it be like Persona where the characters occasionally change clothes throughout the year? Ok, I'm done.
EDIT 3: ONE LAST THING!!! Posters in the background suggest that the main character is named Yoshihiro... something, I can't read the last name, and that the female lead is named Kiria. Ok, I'm looking forward to seeing Yoshi in Smash. Wait...
EDIT 4: Yoshiro Tsurugi and Kiria. Saw the trailer in a higher quality.

I was super excited when I saw Xenoblade was coming onto the 3DS shop. But of course it's for an updated 3DS that won't play on any old ones *sighs and goes back to listening to Xenoblade OST* Which is old news, I'm sure, but I'm slow

For those of you that like 3D action RPGs, looks like Square Enix came out with a new series! NieR:Automata www.jp.square-enix.com/nier-new/Kinda reminds me of Drakengard 3. Strong female protag + mystical world I like her design, and the soundtrack is so melancholy. Kinda wish I had time... and a ps4

Whatchu guys excited about from E3 this year? Mario Odyssey looks... interesting. Seems like a lot of new features that look fun. Xenoblade 2 looks cool too, but I'm still stuck on the fact that now there are American accent voices :3

I didn't watch E3 this year. Since I already knew about Odyssey and Xenoblade 2, which I am excited for, the only new thing that was announced at E3 this year that I cared about was Metroid Prime 4, and they didn't show anything about that.
I was mostly just mildly disappointed that From Software didn't announce anything, but maybe we all needed a break from them considering they had been releasing a new game every year for the past couple years.
Probably the first time I haven't even been able to pretend to care about E3 when my favourite companies announce games in their own time anyway.

Nintendo's best E3 in a while. Everyone else's conferences ranged from "eh" to laughable.

^ Average Nintendo fanboy reconfirmed. I do agree Nintendo's was the best, but I think there were some other strong showings. Monster Hunter World, Gundam Versus (and coming to the West), Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, to name a couple... Shadow Of the Colossus remake... then there's stuff like God Of War 5, which while I don't care about, I have to admit looks pretty good. I thought this was actually one of the strongest E3s yet, it had so much next-gen quality stuff. But seriously, can we stop and think about how amazing Monster Hunter World looks? No? Anyone? Oh well, I figured I'd be alone on the hype for it. I didn't watch E3 this year. Since I already knew about Odyssey and Xenoblade 2, which I am excited for, the only new thing that was announced at E3 this year that I cared about was Metroid Prime 4, and they didn't show anything about that. Probably the first time I haven't even been able to pretend to care about E3 when my favourite companies announce games in their own time anyway. Have you heard of Code Vein? I was going to mention this above, but I figured better to direct it in response to this. It's not a From Software game, but it's essentially Dark Souls in an anime theme, the gameplay looks close to identical. Looks a little more grim than I thought, but I'm actually really hyped for it, though I'm hoping it will have multiplayer, as so far it looks very narrative-driven.
