I feel like half my soul is gone when i'm persona broke. Well, you are loosing half your attack buttons. Claxus, please learn Carl. We could have some of the coolest X-matic battles ever. Dont try for me though, you seem best with Bang and Jin. I was actually surprised by your skill with Jin, for some reason, your jin and bang are the best I've played against. I generally suck at most fighting games, brawl (melee) was my first. Also, I've never played guilty gear but everyone seems to love it. BlazBlue vs guilty gear? I grew an affection for metaknight, but I always felt terrible using him because he's considered overpowered. Relius on the other hand, maybe it's because he's new, but he sits at mid tier apparently so I feel morally right using him. But honestly in BlazBlue Relius is the only character who I can combo effectively with. In calamity trigger I used Arakune but I basically sucked with Arakune and I never use him anymore... Ragna's moves are easily to learn but I cant DO anything with them. I hope Elizabeth will be alright, because if colour schemes are anything to go by, she's relius' equivalent in arena.

Brawl is one of my favorite fighters, I always liked it more than GG and BB. It's a lot more about skill and timing than knowing big combos and trying to pressure your opponent till they block wrong (not that there's anything wrong with this). I actually used Meta Knight at first, but then I began to realize it on my own... He's just way too strong for how fast he is. Really, he wouldn't be so bad if his shuttle loop wasn't so powerful and safe, and if mach tornado didn't negate 95% of everything in the game. I mostly used Link (underrated powerhouse and boomerang/bomb pressure) and Pikachu then.
Elizabeth, I've yet to use or fight, haven't seen her in Arcade. But she does seem (from videos) a bit more like Relius in the sense that she's all about her Persona, moreso than the rest. She has really low HP, though... She's a glass cannon.
Well, I feel flattered that you think I'm the best Bang and Jin you've come across, but I really need to learn some combos with them. I know one with Bang, but you're really good at keeping me away. With Jin, I don't even know one combo... Just the air dashing 2C > D freeze into rapidslash that I can't even follow up lol. Besides that, I know some simple 2-4 hit chains. I guess I try to use him more like Johnny with making single hits count. I just think I would be a lot better if I took the time to learn some of their combos.
Back in CSII I did play Carl for a little while in some friendly casuals, but despite liking his gameplay a lot, I just can't take the kid seriously with his girly shorts and huge hat. Still, I think he was the most fun for me to play, so I really should give him another shot, and I guess I will in a day or two. When Extend released I tried Relius out (I used the same colors as you, lol) because he seemed like a more boss Carl, but I just didn't really feel like learning him.

^ Teddies looking allright actually. Anyone know what the tiers for arena are right now? Because I remember him sitting at mid tier while the arcades were out...nI'm thankful Elizabeth is only mid tier, too. One would expect her to be higher, but I guess her low HP really cripples her. I think you fight her at the end of score attack. Go do score attack.
I never got into Carl. He's one of my worst characters, and unlike Hazama I dont enjoy using him either. Besides Nirvana he doesn't really have anything cool about him and his combos are tricky. I love fighting him though, if only to hear X matic. Another reason I love Relius. He has two amazing musical themes.

^For one, freaking tomahawks, and his big finisher is TRAPPING HIS OPPONENT IN A FREAKING FIREWORK. ;D So do you all play this on 360 or PS3?

Me and Claxus play 360 and M.C is a PS3 user. The instant kills in this game look quite lacking save for a few like Teddies. Yu getting Izanagi no Okami is pretty cool, but the rest are overblown and short. Essentially unsatisfying compared to final smashes in brawl or the astral heats from BlazBlue. (Relius has my favorite fighting game finisher by the way.)

^Cool. ...too bad I need xBox live. and yeah, most of the finishers are pretty...eh... I just liked Teddie in persona 4, so I wanna use him in P4A. Teddie and Yosuke = best characters. (in my opinion)

^ I like every character, except Mitsuo but he's supposed to be hateable. Elizabeth and the protagonists are my favorite characters though, and overall I preferred the cast of persona 3 to 4.

Into episode 17 on the P4 anime now, I have to say I have mixed feelings on which cast I like more. I really liked the P3 characters, and Minato's appearance more. But in P4, it really feels like the main group are friends who work together because they care about each other. (I liked Yu a lot till the 'drunk king' scene...)
P3 sometimes feels like you're only working together because you pretty much are forced to, and outside of shadow-hunting, you don't really hang out with them as friends. It's like before midnight, everyone is off doing their own thing.
Well, tiers... S Tier: Aigis, Mitsuru A Tier: Teddie, Akihiko, Yu, Yosuke, Chie B Tier: Shadow Labrys, Labrys, Yukiko, Kanji, Naoto, Elizabeth
Everyone says there's hardly any difference between tiers, and honestly I agree. It feels more like Brawl, where even though Meta Knight is really good, anyone with good skill could win with any character.

I'd say most of the fighting games I've played are like that. Actually, I remember a godzilla fighting game where at the end you unlocked metal godzilla which rendered the other monsters useless... anyway I'm just glad that Elizabeths low.

Well, Carl himself isn't that cool, but what makes him cool is his combos with Nirvana. I think he has some flashy/tricky attacks, though. He has the cool reversal dash and the little slidey thing he throws that grabs, and some attacks coming out of his cape like Relius. Also his 2C, I love moves that use the opponents as platforms (Yosuke!). But of course, the coolest thing is controlling Nirvana remotely and syncing together. Kind of like Shadow Labrys, in that her Persona is always out, and combos need setting up between the two.
Instant Kills are underwhelming... But they're more usable than Astral Heats. It's more like Guilty Gear I guess, but that was worse. Every character could perform their instant kill on every round by just pressing all 4 attacks to enter a 'rage' mode, then QCFx2 > D. They were really hard to land, though.
On Persona, the Instant Kills are mostly pretty good, if you see your opponent's portrait is glowing, you really better stay on your toes. And you can use a gold burst to gain 100sp right at the start, and go for it at the beginning. Basically, you'll be seeing them a lot more than Astral Heats, since most are really threatening and even safe.
I think Elizabeth has a projectile Instant Kill. And Naoto uses a special meter, and once triggered you can even combo into an Instant Kill.

Sure, I'll use Carl today. Relearned his moveset last night for the most part. I still don't know how to do any combos with the two, or anything more than 1800, but I need to get the hang of controlling both. I'll be on in a little while though, gonna eat pizza real soon.

^ ok. Lets try and get X-Matic playing.
I respect Carl players. Probably the most difficult character to learn... good pay off though, I've seen professional Carl players wreck their opponents.

I love this game and on a note I think Kanji's one hit kill is pretty cool looking too.
I think the chars in Persona 3 were better, I just felt for them way more then I did for the Persona 4 chars and in episode Aigis you learn even more about them. The only chars I really like in 4 are Kanji and well no one else. Persona 2 has my favorite chars, but unfortunitally all the persona fans I talk to only know about 3 and 4. Jezz how can you be a persona fan without knowladge of the first 2?
The game overall I think is nice, the one hit kills are kinda impractical unless well your in a really good situation to use it.
Elizabeths instakill is a counter that you need to hit 3 times.

Oh, that's right, Elizabeth's IK can activate with projectiles. Against Yosuke, his kunai toss can activate it instantly (5-6 kunai)...
