The story is almost as amazing the 2nd time. I'd have thought it'd have gotten old now that I know it all, but Chapter 18's end still gives me chills. EDIT: Say hello to my new and improved(?) Viridi Claws! Viridi Claws Value: 228 1.5R / 1M Knockback Defense +1 Paralysis +2 Stamina +3 Forward Dash Ch-Shot +2 Melee Dash Attack +3 Lower stars, lower Para mod, but some nice other mods. Stamina and MDA are nice, as is FDCS. Lower Value too, and it feels just as good. Next goal = Freezing mod Aquarius Blade.

This thread makes me feel like I'm on chapter 23. That aside... Pro mods. Eh stars. Good value. ...CRAP WEAPON. First Blade (why) Value: 291 Freezing +4 Shot Range +2 Shot Homing +1 Stamina +1 F-Dash Ch.Shot +4 Overall Defense -2 WHY. EDIT: Fused that First Blade around and made something epic. Bear Claws Value: 290 R2.5 / M4 Freezing +4 Shot Range +3 Shot Homing +1 Stamina +1 Evasion +3 Overall Defense -2 This thing does wonders in LvD. Also fused my Viridi Claws for this: Upperdash Arm Value: 256 R2.5 / M2.5 Knockback Defense +1 Paralysis +2 F-Dash Charge Shot +2 Full-Health Boost +1 Melee Dash Attack +3 Heart Bonus +1 The dash attack does almost 300 damage. a OHKO.

The dash attack's pretty hard to hit with online. I wish it wasn't so specialized. Its melee is surprisingly weak outside of the dash, and it's charge shots are really 'good' but do terrible damage. Love the backlash charge, but... Why? One if the coolest attacks in the game, but what can Upperdash do with launching enemies upwards with crappy damage? Also, you underestimate the First Blade. It'd be my perfect weapon if it had an unique BDCS. Like the Upperdash's, Crusader Blade, Aquarius Blade, Midnight Palm, Ninja Palm, Burning Palm, Drill Arm, etc.... I love having the extra options of the generally slower but defensive shots. Yeah, First Blade is awesome IMO. And for Aquarius, I'm not sure about freeze. You know, with 6M stars and combo +4, it barely does over half HP. The innate freeze is great if you get into melee range, but I don't think it's a weapon that maximizes on freeze. You'll never beat my legendary Aquarius Blade But I actually want to try one with a SDCS mod. That attack is surprisingly strong, and has decent homing. A lot like cannon shots, they roll a bit slowly towards enemies. It's kinda my favorite blade, competing with Crusader.

Uh, game saves on game cartridges are bound to the cartridge... Good to know.
I almost feel let down my save was still there when I started the game, ready to delve into the story anew. It's good that all my stuff and progress is still there, though. Good times on one of my most favorite games ever.
Well yeah, I assumed I lost my data since my original SD card wiped, and Animal Crossing (digital) died with it.

Started playing this again today as I just felt like it... I just found out it's the game's anniversary. Also decided to start playing using powers... It's a lot more fun. They can seem pretty broken, but the exceptional ones such as Slip Shot and Bumblebee severely limit the power grid, and the gameplay is much more strategic than just running around tossing and dodging shots. There's a lot of countermeasures you can fit in the grid easily, too, like Reflect Barrier (Slip Shotters will have their own shots return through the wall ), Black Hole (good against rushers/Bumblebee) or Angelic Missile (multipurpose to escape any situation). In hindsight almost any weapon can be devastating, and everyone gets crazy powers, so it's not all that broken... Even the typical stuff like Slip Shot + Homing Eyetrack orbitars have tons of ways to be dealt with.

Dunno how I'd feel about 6 melee stars with those mods... Shock Orbitars are pretty balanced, though, so that's good. I'm fairly proud of a 333 value Aquarius Blade, 3.5/3 stars. Overall defense +6 Evasion +3 Standing cont. fire +1 Forward-dash cont. fire +2 In-peril autododge +3
It's very survivey and evasive, though the melee stars and some mods are filler.
On the non-outrageous cost side, I got an Upperdash with range +3 and dash charge shot +3, Poison +4, 2.5/3 stars. Its shots are actually pretty good, and the backdash tornado thing goes pretty far.
And... 6 ranged star Samurai Blade, no melee stars. Petrification +3, Side-dash cont. fire +3. Probably my favorite actually... Its shots aren't bad at all, and petrify rather consistently. Its melee is still strong with no stars. Once petrified, I feel awesome hitting with one or two dashing slashes. It's like a time-stop ninja cut.
