I've been listening to Kokonoe's theme a ton recently, and I don't just mean in game. The music of my reunion with my rival.

Oh, we meet again, song in the depths of my Favorites playlist. I would post Bullet's theme as I somehow just fell in love with its really stylish beat, but instead, I found this to be one of the best new versions of a song:

Hadn't really listened to that one before, and I agree.

^ Listened to the whole thing last night. I stand by the opinion that the Fire Emblem theme is one of the greatest themes of all time. And lol Chrom = Gintoki.
And this...
Is perfection. And maybe old... But I never actually listened to this track outside of Bang's overdrive 'till now.
As great as his old Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan theme was, I think this one's... Better. It used to be hilarious and awesome, but this song really captures Bang's character in a more serious way while still having that classic justice hero vibe.

As did I, and afterwards listened to this.I hate to admit it, but Bravely Default is better the more I've stayed away from it, and now I really want to play it again...but honestly mostly just for the final boss, because frankly I don't want to go through three chapters of BS again. Also Blazblue 2gud stahp

Blazblue 2gud start saving
Did Kid Icarus today mess with my mind or does that theme resemble KI:U's boss theme at a few parts? Like especially at 0:58.

Also I won't need BlazBlue once Smash 4 comes out, and by the time I'd have enough money to buy a PS3 and BlazBlue I'd say Smash 4 Wii U will already be out, let alone 3DS.

I'm sure of it actually, that part is very similar to the build-up part right before the main melody of KI:U's boss theme. Though it's just those few seconds. It could be mixed into KI:U's boss theme and it'd sound almost the same.
And... That logic, I don't follow. All you cared about BlazBlue was just to use it as filler until Smash 4?

No, I think BlazBlue would be a very fun game for me in its own right. However, Smash Bros is my favorite fighting game, and even if I did get BlazBlue before Smash 4, I would enjoy it, and cast it aside for Smash 4 the moment it was released. It's not a matter of "I want it to be filler" it's a matter of "I know how my mind works and my mind prioritizes smash over other fighting games." That, and, well my mind's been hyping it for the last several months anyway with increasing intensity. My avatar is not helping me not think about smash.

Smash is my favorite fighting series as well, and I play it a lot more than Blazblue, but hey, why not play both? In any case, maybe we'll meet on Blazblue in the future then, with the inevitable expansion version next year if you ever get that PS3.
P.S. All of Al's links are good stuff... I just actually kind of wish there were some more unique styled songs (Bang's themes defy BlazBlue music) as heavy rock/metal all day makes me feel like I need a breather... Cactus Carnival II (up there) is such a refreshing pace whenever it plays.

What other fighters have you played, out of curiosity? Several of my friends like fighters but most of them tend to be of the Injustice/Tekken/Mortal Kombat variety. They played Blazblue, but I think the artstyle put them off slightly. This was during a makeshift tournament party where we played a ton of fighting games and brought our own. We didn't play smash though, despite the fact that three of us (including myself) really enjoyed it. Anyway, I really like smash but I feel that Arksystem fighters have a lot more complexity to the systems, not just in terms of the tricky combo and input executions. Smash was a good gateway drug, but it feels like a different game genre fundamentally, in the way damage works and also in the increased freedom and range of movement, and attack options. Characters feel like they play completely different in Arksystems fighters, whereas in smash inputs are the same for each character and most special attacks serve the same functions, projectile, recovery, damage, etc, with the main determiners between which characters are good being the effectiveness of the function's job, and their weight and movement speed. It's almost incomprehensible to play with more than two people. All high level play tactics seem to break down at that point. I'm not really a fighting game expert, though, but I'll be getting smash 4 mainly because... uh... I don't know, it's smash 4, I guess. I like that they release new installments at a slower rate than most.

Decent list, it's true that most fighting games don't have nearly as much charm or as variety in game modes as smash, though.
Naruto is too simplistic (though that it does have decent resource management mechanics, but the characters are all the same) and I found Marvel vs Capcom to be much too busy. I'm not a fan of tag team fighters.
I haven't once played streetfighter. It's weird, isn't that the one fighting game that basically everyone is supposed to have played at some point?

The two "daddies" of fighters are Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. ...oh right, I forgot. I've played Sonic the Fighters too...though that's such a bare bones fighter it doesnt make much difference. It does have this though: Just one of those songs that is just really actiony blood pumping energy. It's one of the songs I play while playing other fighters because it can really get me into the zone...you know what I mean, right?

I was just listening to music from The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya... I was thinking back on it, it was one of one of the best movies there is. The spoilers contain the music and... Spoilers, from the movie.
The song that plays when [THE] SLIMY OCTOPUS slips a casual comment about Haruhi, leading to intel overload and Kyon running all the way to the school where she was.
And... The scene where they start sneaking in to their 'old' school by jogging, to reform the SOS brigade.

I can't remember if I posted this one before a few years back, I may have done, I don't really care because I only heard it in game for the first time a few days ago. This theme is the one of the best regular battle themes in a JRPG I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
