Ugh, more kinect. I tried it out at a PC world the other week. its the most useless, poorly executed 'controller' I've ever seen/ used. if Xbox continues kinect support, nintendo will easily storm through E3.

They're shooting themselves in the foot. Customer convenience. They should just stop making games exclusive to specific consoles, you know, like DVDs and such, allow used and rental sales, embrace digital downloading and stop being so dumb. I think Nintendo is defineatly going to win once again this generation. Sony and microsoft are so anti- consumer, most of the people who play CoD and Halo are slowly growing out of the target age range, and likely wont get new fans. Sure, they'll be a few, but it will still be a shadow of it's former self compared to the iphone and general mobile market. Nintendo being pro consumer, family friendly, less payments and overall better games will take over and at best Microsoft and Sony will just make a few of their games for the new systems that will come out after this generation, which will hopefully be something closer to a steam or apple app store in a box than these rigid, console exclusives. No matter what happens, I probably wont pick up a 720 either way. Maybe a PS4 if Japan is still determined to continue making my favorite games for the system, although even Atlus seems to be migrating to Nintendo consoles. (See Code of princess and SMT4 on 3DS, upcoming fire emblem/SMT crossover etc.) Just my thoughts on the subject.

You've just explained the reason why nintendo has triumphed over Turbografx, Sega(its toughest opponent.) and will now do the same to xBox. I have a feeling playstation will last longer, but it too will be crushed by the awesome power of nintendo.

@carigun the Halo series has indeed been a guilty pleasure of mine however Halo 4 was atrocious, inferior to the others and reach especially in every conceiveable manner. I played online for a bit, but there are less game modes and it's somehow less fun. I blame lack of invasion. I wont be buying another Halo game, and with RPGs moving to other consoles I don't think I'll even need to buy it just for that. Also, doesn't all marketing involve target age range? I thought that was one of the most important things to consider. With the xbox fans growing into their 20s, I don't think Microsoft will have the capability to draw in new fans- it will be nintendo with their family friendly games, creating a new wave of nostalagic everyone-year-olds with the NSMB and other classic games that will beat them in the long run. They're playing the long game, whereas microsoft and sony are only interested in immediately getting their money back as soon as possible with DLC and special editions and such, and trying to stamp down on used game sales.
@steve I agree. Nintendo is a powerhouse and should crush both microsoft and sony soon. I would say that the only real competitor against Nintendo for the foreseeable future is Valve with Steam, and maybe something totally new. Nintendo will endure but I think the two of them will stay in healthy competition for a while until eventually it wont really matter weather you go steam or nintendo, as they'll basically be equally good save for the customers individual taste in games. And that is a very bright future.

I must admit Lone wolf was a damn good mission, props to Bungie.
Speaking of which now that Bungie are free of oppression, anyone know what they're doing? Please tell me it's Oni 2.

THEY ACTUALLY DID IT THOSE DAMN IDIOTS YES YES YES! I CANNOT WAIT TO WATCH THEM BURN!*Coughs and straightens tie. Normal voice.* The 'XBOX ONE' Was revealed and its every bit as bland as we had predicted. I could swear all the game announcements were for EA sports and a new CoD. The system upgrades only graphics and the shitty kinnect interface, and I think that microsoft probably isn't going to do well. I'd post more articles but google will tell you everything you need to know, if that business decision isn't enough news for you. Seriously, I'm so glad they did that. Hoping to the high heavens that xbox dies soon after this. I mean heck even the CoD cash cow will be available on wii u and PS4, allegedly. Stick to PS4 and Wii U as far as I'm concerned. Nearly all the same features with none of the BS. ... Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here, I should wait for a little longer I suppose. Still probably wont buy an XBOX though.

I want them to rerelease the gen 1 xbox. Itd take gaming back a decade. But itd be the most ingenious marketing scheme ever. A) itd be a retro move. And B) itd piss off everyone ever, but then theyd give in and buy the thing cause they would get angered that no new games were coming out on 360.

^ I wont reiterate how silly that sounds... Anyway, Xbox one is new in the same way that a gun made out of paper clips and being sold to the military is new. Technically impressive since apparently it actually works, but who would want to buy that piece of crap? Reselling the original xbox would be like trying to sell people bow and arrows... not even that, sling shots. Or a rock thrown using the trusty hand. Spit.

Theyll probably do some stupid crap with kinect instead, they are super proud of it. It has cool real world apps, like bomb squads use them to control drones to disarm bombs. But for gaming it is poop

Yep, they really were quite proud of that thing. Apparently the system also has voice control, (You can turn the system on by telling it to do so) which I guess is kinda cool but ultimately pointless.

Seriously, reach is just about better in every way. Heck, Halo 3 has sandtrap and by extension the elephant. The elephant alone makes Halo 3 multiplayer seriously stand out. Probably not worth all the crap just to buy the latest installment in a game series that lost its luster. I'd buy another Halo if the maps were like full scale wars which gaze us elephants, mammoths, scarab tanks, drop ships and all that good stuff... as it stands, its usually the same boring few boxed in maps repeated infinitely.
