I tried growing berries in emerald. Problem being i always got bored of waiting then continued the game only to come back and have my berries either replant themselves or be gone. I gave up  Im gonna go catch black kyurem now. |

Shedinja retains any HP EVs gained as a Nincada, but Pomeg Berries don't work on it.

So in theory you could say make a beastly nincada, and then shedinja would retain all those stats?

As long as you make sure to only bother with Attack and Speed since those are the only stats Shedinja gets any use out of (HP and defenses are useless for obvious reasons and its Special Attack is on par with Sunkern of all things so you're not getting anywhere with that). |

I figured as much. Im surprised it can even up its hp value. I thought it was a rule that it could only have 1 hp cause of its ability.
Now that i think of it the one i had back in... saphire? Maybe emerald or ruby idk. Had like 13? Hp. So i guess it is possible?

On a topic related note i bougt a white version today. I have 3 pokemon thus far. One of which is a patrat and is thusly forever pcd.

I feel like shedinja is really only useful against like fighting and normal pokemon. So that it cant die lol. You'd be surprised, actually. A lot of in-game opponents have nothing to kill it with. The best thing to do is teach it Protect, use it whenever a new Pokémon comes out in a battle, and see what they do. If they use a stat-affecting move, attack with something that doesn't work like an idiot, or switch, nine times out of ten that Pokémon can't hurt Shedinja. And the tenth time they have Swagger or something and a Persim Berry makes it a non-issue long enough to figure out it's there. Alternatively, you can switch about a million times to deplete a threatening move's PP. Example: the Milotic Wallace has in Emerald knows Toxic and nothing else that can kill Shedinja. It'll keep trying to kill Shedinja with Toxic until it runs out of PP. Switch a Lairon in and it'll do absolutely nothing. Because it doesn't work on Lairon, it'll use one of its other moves when Lairon's in, so bring Shedinja back in to be completely immune to it. Repeat until Milotic's out of Toxic and proceed to Swords Dance 3 times and Shadow Ball it to death. tl;dr: Learn how the AI handles Shedinja and you can exploit it thoroughly. EDIT: Just caught Rayquaza with Shedinja, 6 X Speeds, and about 9 Pokéballs. It's Rash and has 29 Special Attack IVs. So I basically just caught a Rayquaza with almost perfect Special Attack without even trying. |

I'm (still) trying to catch everything there is to catch in Emerald, but I have no idea where Nosepass is in Dewford Cave.
Rather than look it up or ask about it on some random internet forum, I'm trying to exploit the "sit there for a minute or two and you'll hear Pokémon" mechanic to figure it out.
Problem: All I can hear is Aron on the lower floors and Makuhita on the top floor.
I don't get it. Is that just how it works?

Actually nosepass is randomly everywhere in the cave. Though i want to say i tended to find them more in stevens little room at the end.

Having read that, I figured I'd check the rarity since you pretty much just told me where it is anyway. Turns out it's actually a rather common encounter in rocks on B2. So there's that. Also apparently I went through the entire game without seeing a Grimer. That has been rectified. |

I hsve a feeling that other than blaziken most of the pokemon will get an x and y mega evolution. I wouldnt br surprised if certain pokes only can mega evolve in each version. Its incentive to get both games. |
