I've just now realised that they've skipped ahead of the making the third version of the current gen games to bring out the remakes. I probably would have preferred a Z version that fleshes out Team Flare and the new region more, but I wont say no to remakes since there wasn't one last generation.
I'll probably get one of these because I never played the third gen games, but I'm on the fence because I never feel motivated to dip my head into even casual competitive battling in these games, and I tend to find the single player experience slightly lacking in content as a result. Maybe they'll do something with the pokemon contests. That could be interesting.
Still, there's no magic quite like playing through a new pokemon game...
Yeah, that would be an irritating prospect. Although, I'll probably still go nuts for a diamond and pearl remake, since diamond was my first pokemon game.

Wonder if it'll be compatible with XY... Well, do we have any idea what this actually is? Gold/Silver style remake? Actually using the new fully 3D engine XY brought? But I'm interested in how it could function with XY... And if Protean Kecleon will exist with move tutors.

Serebii confirmed that some guy at Nintendo confirmed that they're full on remakes. Apparently they're also being coy about the artwork, saying that they're 'never before seen pokemon' which basically confirms that Groundon and Kyogre got megavolutions.
It would be ridiculous to go back to 2D pixel artwork now, and the remakes have always been compatible with current gen. So basically I'm saying yes to all your questions, Claxus, I'm surprised they need to be asked...
In compensation, if any one of your questions have a 'no' answer then I will... uh... do something really embarrassing or painful.

^Well that escalated quickly xD Super Pokemon Stadium when? They made one, it's called Pokemon Stadium 2 [/snarky] But no seriously that would be awesome like Game Freak we need this (after Drill Dozer 2 of course). Pokemon Battle Revolution didn't count as fun as it was :< Regarding a 3rd XY game, didn't Platinum and HG/SS come out pretty close together? Or maybe they just feel the need to alternate between releasing fan-pleasing games and new region games...

The pattern has always been Main games > Remake > Third game when a new system is involved, with the exception of the game boy color games, because they were backwards compatible. Ruby/Sapphire > FireRed/LeafGreen > Emerald Diamond/Pearl > HG/SS > Platinum XY > Omega/Alpha > Z My problem with BW/BW2 was that since they were made for the DS like DPPt/HGSS, we only had two years to experience 5th gen before 6th gen came out, instead of the 3 or so years that it usually takes. WE NEED MORE POKEMON STADIUM. The games, the Gym Leader Castle, the Rental Pokemon, the uploading of handheld pokes, all of it

Completely random, but as I was playing Triples with my friend earlier, a thought occurred to me. 6v6. Full-on team battle royales! I think it would be an insane idea, for sure, with all the craziness going around (and the battles would probably be like 2 turns long lol).
If gamefreak could implement a sort of chess-board set-up, with each pokemon having different movement capabilities and the same stats and attacks, I think it would expand the ways that pokemon strategy could be utilized.
Thoughts?

So, like, that Nobunaga game from a while back? I assume your referring to some kind of fire emblem set up.
Actually, a pokemon game like that would basically just be Devil Survivor.

Haha now that I think about it, it does sound like Pokemon Conquest Hmmm I'd also like a pokemon fighting game, either classic 2d (like type:Wild but better) or Smash-style fighting.

CoraCora leaks confirm Mega Swampert, Mega Sceptile, Mega Diancie, "Primal" Kyogre and Groudon, and a few other minor things. Don't know where to find info on this so I'll trust JWittz on this one.

so i am rather sad with nintendo, mega sceptile, looks cool, and it gains and dragon typing, and of course knowing what mega blaziken looks like it looks cool. i figured, awww yea mega swampert is gonna be beast! wrong, it looks like a mudkip took roids, and then bench pressed a golem, guess im not gonna pick mudkip this go round :/ idk maybe i will and come to love how derpy mega swampert looks, and maybe itll have like some dope ability or huge attack boost, which is kinda nerfed cause most moves swampert learns are special attacks... but anywho, idk other than that one sadness i am super stoked about alpha and omega. and z, which is coming soon to a gamestore near you... prolly, like 2 years from now lol
also the secret base thing wouldnt load, i assume they are legit now rather than a room full of dolls/decorations?

He always was kind of an oddball, especially considering he's supposed to be a mud fish. The design choice for his mega is just as odd... But it's actually really cool if you forget that it looks nothing like the other forms.

^ Which is precisely why I appreciate M-Swampert's design. They kept him relatively simple, but at the same time he looks very strong and would command my respect in a battle. Sure he kind of looks like a balloon, but with swift swim and 100 points added to his base stat total, M-swampert is like a cannonball ready to get back into OU
