I'm going to be annoyed if they use the whole genetics explanation and then don't do the numbered sequels again. The Z chromosome is not a thing, and if they try to act like it is I'm going to complain profusely and do absolutely nothing of consequence.

It's not yet? Good, Fairy type just sounds painfully contrived. Light, maybe, what with all those light-based attacks like Flash and Flash Cannon and Flash Fire Luster Purge, but Fairy? No, I don't see what hat they could pull moves from for that and have it not be stupid.

Z chromosome is actually a thing, just not something you learn in high school biology.

Fairy type doesn't sound that bad for Pokemon typing... but a little more so for attack typing, like Death Eye said.

I agree with Thaddie on the coordinate plane thing. I think it makes more sense than xy chromosomes, since there are genderless pokes. also I seriously hope that there won't be another case of Polymerization in pokemon. I think that only kyurem's case would warrant it, Kyurem being the empty shell of the one true dragon (though I did want the true, 3-part dragon to form, rather than some artificial splicing of genes and making two new legendaries)

just like the advent of steel/dark type, i'm sure people will start out disagreeing with it, but if they do come out with it, they'll just get used to light type. I, for one, am interested in how the metagame would change with the new light type, especially with all the cool angelic pokes that would be created with the new type (gotta admit, dark and steel types had some of the best designs I could ever ask for)

Trainer customisation and the ability to ride pokemon is confirmed and that makes me very happy.

For those who think that fairy type sounds dumb, worry not because the localisation team will probably come up with a better name for it when the game comes out in english. It probably makes more sense in japanese.

Not really, maybe if literally every electrical appliance generated light but that's not the case.

So I was randomly going along sites when I saw there was a new ghost type. (probably very late on this)
It's called Honedge. while the name does not appeal to me, its typing does.
It's the typing I've wanted for YEARS!
It is a STEEL/GHOST type.
This means it has a whopping 8 (maybe 9 depending on fairy type) resistances to grass, ice, flying, psychic, bug(x2 resistance), rock, dragon, and steel, a whopping 3 immunities (normal, fighting and poison), one of which covers a huge weakness to steel, a ghost type that is NOT weak to pursuit (only neutral), and a mere two weaknesses. (one if it gets levitate, which it IS levitating, so it seems likely.)

Oh yeah I heard about that one. Seems pretty interesting.
If this game has another good story like black and white's this could be a really good generation. I'm glad to hear that EVs will be more simple to track this time around, its the major thing that put me off white when I started trying to get into its metagame. I still probably wont bother too much with the metagame for this one, though.

So I restarted my Emerald file.
Logged about 11 hours into it so far, just beat the Lavaridge Gym with a Shedinja and have yet to beat the Dewford Gym.
Also my Combusken is the slowest in Pokémon history apparently with a whopping 28 speed at level 21. Had I not run into as many trainers with Zigzagoons it'd be equal in speed to this Numel I also have in my party because I wanted a Numel and picked Torchic anyway like an idiot.

I have two things to say on the mega stone thing. 1. Digimon did it first with mode changing, the whole form changing thing copied that, then they did burst mode, so nintendo is doing mega evolutions. Which is fine because mega ampharos is glorious! Actually all of them except mega kangaskhan are rather cool looking. And mega baby k is adorable.

2. Trainer stuff aside, and im happy about it, fairy type now being legitimate i feel hurt that fairy trumps dragon. I get that dragons were pretty well invincible except to ice, but kyurem is kinda broken in that respect... or well not really. (Cough fighting types cough fire.) But still fairy beats dragon? Pft no. Just no. Flabebe would be eaten for lunch by even a dratini. And ive been waiting on legigimate eveeloutions like dragon evee and steel evee for three gens now. So what do they do? Sylveon. Forget nintendo i quit. Im done. Unless they announce at least a steel vee im going to right a letter of protest. And they better not do some bs crap like "sylveon dragon forme or sylveon flight forme" to weasel out of making new evees. Yes i am aware ive been spelling eevee wrong. How many times did i do it?

Now on to more important things.
Im playing my black 2 training my team (slacking cause i kind of dont want to face the elite four, honestly having done it so many times as a kid im kind of over them) leveling up my newly evolved weavile when i run into a shiny sneasel.

So i catch said shiny sneasel, only to realize i cant evolve it without another sharp claw. So i am happy that i caught a shiny legitimately. And im sad cause it can never evolve.

In other news i want to get a copy of platinum because i want to play through the dp story again, albeit with the twists of platinum, but i dont want to restart my pearl. To many legendaries (that i may or may not have cheated to obtain...)

I also want to get a white version, why would i want two zekroms you ask? Because reshiram looks retarted. That is my legitimate reasoning.

I am thinking of getting pokemon x after release, because i want to see which pokes are in which version.

Also i hope they do a z version cause the whole b2 w2, was just drab.

Reshiram may seem retarded, but that "retarded pokemon" has acess to arguably the best fire type move in the game, perfect STAB coverage thanks to Megaflare or whatever, and A huge special attack to complement its large special movepool. Zekrom cannot boast most of these.

Also, by your logic, the dumber a pokemon looks the better it is. Whichis correct, since Kyurem-W looks stupid but has the 2nd highest base stat total, 2nd to Arceus, a Dragon not weak to Ice types, and a monstrous Special attack and a large special movepool with it.
Also this means Farfetch'd is the best pokemon in the universe. (Sound weird? Well, it IS a bit farfetched...hahaha bad pun.)

Seriously though, i dont care about all that. I dont play pokemon for the metagame, i play them to go on an adventure and catch pokemon. Reshiram looks stupid, and therefore i have no reason to ever own one. Thusly your stats are pointless.

Also kyurem white does look cool, so i would use kyurem white problem being i wouldnt ever be able to get him seeing as i have disdained for reshiram. Then again i hate dialga due to his appearance and i have one on my pearl so maybe one day. Maybe.

Reshiram has the same asthetic albeit more feathery looking.

It doesnt bother me. It fits the build of the pokemon, so i dont see the problem.

Fun fact: No matter how much the metagame spams Stealth Rock, Shedinja is still the best Pokémon. Swapping that thing in and out completely breaks half of Emerald.

Also since I'm planning to catch legendaries with it I'm working on growing some EV-reducing berries so I can EV train its Attack and Speed.
I don't like how time-consuming this whole growing berries thing is, no wonder I never bothered with it before.
