Notch/Mojang asked the guy who ran the site to take it down.

was it a free to play full version? if so im sure njay is right. notch has left mojang to work on other projects, but he has said that he doesnt want minecraft to be open source, which would make it free, yet, the money you spend to buy your "copy" of the game goes to the funding for new updates and such. i have a feeling that it will be free to play at some point, once it is finished.

From this Reddit thread a while back, it was a page with the Minecraft launcher embedded in it. Notch (Username xNotch is the real Notch) said "It grew so big it became a problem for us, so I asked him to take it down." I wasn't sure if Notch meant he personally asked the guy to take the page down or if he was referring to the company, so I put both. ;D

demo on the xbox 360 is survival mode but no saving you need 1600 points to have the save option and there would properly be things other to it as well. but has better graphics than the pc version.

The Xbox 360 trial kicked me out before it got to the best part. Dumb game. I want it now.

Mobs will not go through portals, but (depending on your version, and console or not) Zombie Pigmen can spawn near portal. They don't really do anything, however they can be unexpected.

C'mon, anyone here use the Feed The Beast Modpack Launcher? It doesn't conflict with your base install because it has it's own launcher and what not, so no need to nuke your .Jar when you crash your game with one too many mods. It's a lot simpler, though several of the mod packs are EXTREMELY heavy on your system. 'Cept mine, because nuclear computer ftw.

For minecraft, I found an easy way to get mod packs that work.
Look up on YouTube "how to get diamond dimensions mod pack"
It'll be by TheDiamondMinecart.
Basically technicpack.net is the site. You download their launcher and well watch the video because he explains it better

The 360 version isnt as good. It has yet to get half the updates. No mods or texture packs. Etc. To be fair, some people have a much easier time buying an Xbox 360, which (is supposed to, RROD notwithstanding) last someone a whole console generation without having to swap out parts or get a new graphics card or improve the RAM, as compared to trying to find a good price on a pre-built gaming computer or having the expertise necessary to put together your own and not having to worry about, say, the graphics card dying the moment you start your new Alienware 500 millionk premium elite edition and realizing that all this processing power means you don't have any virtual memory for actual gaming. . . or, y'know, the myriad of other traps that come with a maintaining good computer, like viruses.
Of course, for those of us who can afford it - or happen to have the right connections, as is my case - there isn't much reason to pick the console version out.
