The main problem with the fantranslation is that they want you to buy the actual game THEN MOD THE 3DS with the patch (I will do one or the other but not both). They insist they will not make it for a virtual machine. Like I get the idea, you want to not steal sales away from the main game, I can respect that, but I don't want to crack my game or hardware open just for one translation. Ya know? Oh, is that how it works? Yeah, I don't really wanna mess around with my 3DS hardware that much, either :X The way I see it, it's like, if Capcom won't localize it, they've basically forfeited all sales for it in the West, so there shouldn't really be any problem playing it for free. Then again, it's not the animators/writers/etc. fault that whoever's in charge of the decision won't localize it, so I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ AHAHAHAHA!I've been perusing the blog that Thaddie linked to. It's hilarious and I'm glad it exists. Unfotunately we will probably never get The Great Ace Attourney localized because Capcom doesn't want to be bothered by the Doyle estate since the last few stories of Sherlock Holmes that are still under copyright (or trademark?) are referenced in the games. This means that they'd have to shell out big time to translate it and then they'd have no chance to turn a profit. So I blame both capcom for not taking steps to atleast address the issue and the Doyle estate for being stingy.(while at the same time noting they are indeed within their rights.)
