Well, no, but a Ruby Knight's probably not going to be beating a Beam Gunner... I love Ruby Knight, though. Mechs with lances are among my favorite things in life. But it's still a Knight Borg with that niche of close combat and average mobility. Would have been fine for it to be suggested. I didn't mean for this to be a cannon fodder run, but more everyones' favorite borgs that take a brain to use, or just fun borgs you like because of their unique stuff. I actually think that Ruby Knight could slaughter Beam Gunner. They both have boost jump, but Beam Gunner's the one who needs to circumvent the almighty shield, one that can rapid-fire bombs while still blocking o.o I actually regard Ruby Knight as being better than Sapphire Knight, simply because Ruby Knight has no lag, and can take out close-range borgs much better. This  Anywho, i suppose we have our list. Ill start this run tonight hopefully. Making a thread when i do. |

If they aren't considered too mainstream or powerful - I would think not, if the old Gamefaqs message board's bashing of them would imply - I would like to contribute Tao Master and Alien Insect to the list. Orange fighter was my other early favorite, but he seems too good for his cost.

That's what I mean. As far as I can tell, these are all of our favorite borgs, and that's what I want to do here. But, you know, everyone loves Gold Hero and Cyber Ninja and whatnot, so these are our favorite borgs that aren't that exceptionally good or easy to power through stages with. Of course, Teleport Ninja is my top pick under any circumstances. Doesn't happen to have beam spam or giant wall-piercing beams. I like Gold Hero and Cyber Ninja? Where'd you hear that? I haven't used either in over a year. If I want to decimate I go to my trusty Blizzard Dragon, or Sapphire Knight. |

Eagle Robot is probably my favorite borg in design... The only one that tops Teleport Ninja. The problem is, I dislike its scale. I love huge towering mechs, but... Its size, power, and super armor, like all the giant machines, just laugh at a lot of the game's mechanics. They're awesome but I think they would be much more enjoyable to use if they were normal sized, or a bit smaller and flinched.
Yeah, I love anything that's a mecha... But an important rule of hot-blooded giant robot action is you always gotta fight a fair fight with honor. Then again, I suppose why fighting giant machine borgs with my own is the most exhilarating thing in the game for me, even more so than hyper mode Teleport Ninja.
But I just realized for some reason, Eagle Jet =/= Eagle Robot. Now that's actually fair and very fun. The melee it has makes it probably the most versatile plane. I bet a pro one could beat Orange Fighter in a dogfight.

Clax, I swear, is some clone of me, and neither of us even realize it.
Part of the reason why Eagle Robot is so big is because Eagle Jet is literally a folded up Eagle Robot. It's why Victory Tank is rather awkward when compared to Normal Tank.
In all seriousness, though, Eagle Jet's melee is actually pretty incredible for the fact that you can actually make Boosting with it more of an offensive thing, and not so much a means of escaping. Plus, it's got good firepower due to the fact it has lasers.
Aside from Jet.... Robot is actually able to Rain of Pain, which makes it a pretty amazing spammer, on top of being quite agile. So really, it's just an effective Borg all around.
