So awhile ago I said that score affected your chance of getting borgs, but I didn't go into the details. Today while farming for a Dark Knight, I decided I would. I decided to record my scores for 50 matches, and the borgs I got along with their rarity, as I believe this also affects likeliness of getting a borg.
SCORE:
Score is affected by three things; borgs you defeat, borgs of yours that are defeated, and whether you got the first attack in the match or not. Nothing else. All the other info might as well be flavor text. The game calculates the score of the borgs defeated by you (the reduced cost they show of course), round it up to the nearest hundred, and multiply it by 10. This is your main source of score, so make sure to either fight alone, or pick a borg that is so strong your partner won't be able to destroy any borgs you miss. As for borgs you lost, the game takes the total score of the borgs you lost, rounds it to the nearest hundred, and subtracts that total from your score. If you lose no borgs however, you obtain 1,000 points. This is the most minor of the three ways of obtaining points, but every bit helps.
The third way to obtain points is FIRST ATTACK. as the name implies, if you hit first in the fight, you receive 5,000 points. This extra point total very much helps, as in fights without this bonus I found I wasn't getting A rank borgs at all.
Matches 1-5:
Mission: The Death Commander Orochi Appears! (2490 total enemy cost; 31,000 max points)
Borgs used: Flame Dragon
Partner: Tama
Match 1:
Score: 26,000 (First Strike missed)
Borgs: Death Borg Omega 2 - C
Demon Samurai - D
Teleport Ninja - C
Match 2:
Score: 31,000
Borgs: Ruby Knight (Data Crystal A) - B
Match 3:
Score: 31,000
Borgs: Sapphire Knight (Data Crystal A) - B
Demon Samurai - D
Match 4:
Score: 28,000 (Tama killed Ruby Knight)
Borgs: Ghost Knight - C
Match 5:
Score: 31,000
Borgs: Teleport Ninja - C
Dark Knight (Data Crystal B) - A
Matches 6-9:
Mission: The Death Commander Orochi Appears! (2490 total enemy cost; 31,000 max points)
Borgs used: Command Girl, Beam Gunner, Vampire Knight, Dark Knight, Death Borg Sigma II
Partner: Tama
Match 6:
Score: 28,700 (Tama killed one and I lost Command Girl)
Borgs: Demon Samurai - D
Match 7:
Score: 17,700 (I missed 5 borgs and Command Girl bit the dust)
Borgs: Dark Knight (Data Crystal) - D (O.o)
Match 8:
Score: 28,000 (lost beam and command, and Tama killed one)
Borgs: N/A
Match 9:
Score: 20,700 (lost commander and missed 4 borgs)
Borgs: Demon Samurai - D
Teleport Ninja - C
Match 10:
Mission: The Death Commander Orochi Appears! (31,000 points max.)
Borgs Used: Death ICBM x5, Death Borg Sigma II
Partner: Kakeru (BECAUSE TAMA'S HUGE FORTRESSES GET IN MY WAY)
Score: 22,500 (I missed first strike, and -2500 for some reason)
Borgs: N/A
Results are a bit inconsistent right now, but I'm done with this for the moment. I actually just got that Dark Knight that I had ready to use for matches 6-9 and I never got to use it, So that's what I will do.
For the most part (that 17,700 Dark Knight battle ruined the consistency) higher score seems to = rarer borgs.
This would also explain Admin's troubles with rare Death ICBMs due to the fact that destroying borgs nets score and rares are A+ Rank, but my research is a bit lacking.
