Yeah, so anything about this pink puffball (who is named after a brand of vacuum.) goes here.
I, personally want to talk about the DS games (and some of the older ones later)
So, 3 good games came on the DS for Kirby (I don't consider Canvas Curse good, but eh.)
First came Canvas Curse. A very unique, yet strange control style. I found the game quite interesting, but it had a SERIOUS flaw. trying to swim. The controls for that just sucked, and made it hard to not die on a swimming level (and there were several.)
This one flaw turned the game from a fun, inventive game, to one that will annoy the crap out of you.
next, Kirby Squeak Squad. Kirby Squeak Squad was a, back to the basics style game, and that was certainly good, seeing as how it helped H.A.L get it's head on straight again. The belly mechanic was nice, but besides that, it was "just another Kirby game." That's not bad.
and KIRBY SUPER STAR Ultra.
Yep, portable remake of (quite possibly) the best Kriby platformer in existence, with extra goodies. The Helper system (obviously created for multiplayer) was a great touch, and the addition of Meta Knightmare Ultra and the 3 Arenas (Arena, TRUE Arena, and Helper to Hero.) made this a remake, yet a wonderful game, all on it's own. KSSU is possibly my favorite Kirby Platformer ever.
and last, a game that's not quite released:
Kirby Mass attack.
This game, looks amazing, with another new game mechanic (these are always welcomed, so long as it's nothing like Canvas Curse, which by the way, it's story SUCKED.) You control multiple Kirby's, with.......HIS HEART. Which is a star, which is controlled by your stylus. It really seems like it'll be a great game, but this is all I know aBOUT IT. It should be out in September.
So, yeah, Discuss Kirby games, his show, anything to do with the pink puffball, here.

I'd prefer a normal Kirby game over Mass Attack's intriguing gimmick, even though I don't really know much about the gimmick. It sounds awkward and difficult, and not the fun kind of difficult.
Kirby Super Star Ultra was awesome. I do have to be a bit disappointed by the fact that they made it easier (Yes they did. Ever try beating The Arena without an ability? It's a lot harder in the original.), but it seems like the dialogue in Revenge of Meta Knight or whatever the Halberd game was called was improved. I guess back in the 90s Nintendo still had that obsession with lightening things up for Americans or something, but I remember a line from KSSU that went something like "You are all about to perish" that I think was in some way less intense in the original. I'll have to confirm that, but I think so. And Helper to Hero gave the game a crapload of extra replay value trying to beat it with all of them. Then trying to beat it with all of them two more times to fill up the high score tables.
Squeak Squad was fun, but not for long because I got it from Gamefly and my siblings wanted to get other games, so I had to stop playing it after I (thought I) beat it.
Never played Canvas Curse.
I liked Nightmare in Dream Land. It's like KSSU in that it's an updated portable remake, but it didn't have much more than the original. But it did have Meta Knightmare. The original. Same concept as Ultra, only you can't save and you have half health because you get it for getting 100% in the half-health replay as Kirby. And you don't have Ultra's touch-screen powers. And I got some extra replay value with a GameShark using codes to go through the entire game with every ability. And with no ability.
Never got too far in Dream Land 3. It's fun, though.
In the spinoff department, I completed all three checklists on Air Ride and kept playing for a long time, and have played Avalanche since my childhood but am not too good at it at all. And I completed Tilt 'n' Tumble 100% (or whatever the maximum percentage is), if that counts.

Kirby Air Ride is quite possibly one of my favourite games ever. The City Trial mode is incredibly fun, and me and my mates still play it to this day XD
I hope they make a sequel with proper online... if they did that, I would be in heaven. tbh I'd like that more than a Gotcha sequel...
Edit: Actually having said that, online isn't really that important. I'd like a re-release/virtual console release/sequel on Wii U though.

Kirby Air Ride! My goodness, me and my friends still play it too ;D I love how it's so simple, but so fun. And how you always end killing each other for Legendary pieces If I recall correctly, KSSU required two people to have the actual game for multiplayer, right? If it weren't for that I would've enjoyed it more. But the multiplayer was probably my favorite part of that game ;D

But the multiplayer was probably my favorite part of that game ;D I think if player 2 (It seems odd to talk about a player 2 when two separate consoles (if you could call a handheld a console; isn't the word "console" specific to non-portable units? ) are involved) has the game then they can be another Kirby, but they can control the Helper if they don't. I just spit in the face of grammar with my double parentheses, didn't I?

^actually, if it's one player, you can press X to make a CPU controlled helper. If the other player has the game, you can play together. But they are the helper, so you're whatever you're mate decides to chuck your way is what you get to be.

I was just playing Kirby Air Ride the other day... And I can't wait for Kirby Mass Attack. For some reason, I'm so much more excited about it than the new Kirby Wii game coming. I guess because it's more reminiscent of the older Kirby's days. As for Kirby Super Star, yeah, player two has to be the helper. But if you ask me, it's the more fun.. Funner(?) job. Player 1 can heal you by turning you into an ability item, then summoning you back. And you take the form of your ability's enemy. When you're dying, you get to run around all fast and on fire, and if you run into an enemy, you take their ability. Basically, player 2 can just mess around and do funny stuff. And a little shameless advertising: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFGYuDhJbH0This was quite a few years ago... EDIT: I always forget stuff. You would do well to expect a lot of edits on my posts. But anyway, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is one of my favourites, if not THE favourite. It would be all the more amazing if I ever got to play it with more people, but I love its open world, world designs, and music. I have a more recent adventure recording of it on my account, too.

The Wagon Star (laundry machine) is underappreciated Oh well, means no one else will take it from me when I want it >: D The Wagon Star's good. But I hate using it. I prefer to take not-so-good machines and upgrade them in such a way that they become awesome. Like a Bulk Star with a bunch of charges and negative weights. Or a Formula Star with a bunch of turns, charges, boosts, and negative weights. Or a Rocket Star with about 6 charges and a bunch of negative weights. (Yeah, I like negative weight. I like my machines to sliiiiiide. Not sure if negative weight does that, but... yeah.) Or a Rex Wheelie with a bunch of turns, charges, boosts, weights, and negative glides. (For some reason, I like high weights and negative glides on my wheelies...) You get the idea.

^I started getting the idea you like negative weights after the 3rd one... Wow, if you can think that strategically than that's cool. When me and my friends play our idea is pretty much 1. Get every positive upgrade you can find 2. Kill anyone who has your legendary pieces Has anyone else gotten the max-ish score for Hi-Jump?That was a great star to be using for that event, but I couldn't even control it without running into every wall in the city...

I actually also grab every upgrade I find, pretty much, then just get a vehicle later on based on what I've grabbed so far, then prioritize upgrading the stats that would be most helpful to upgrade for that vehicle. I also completely ignore the legendary pieces most of the time because I have no friends to play with so I play against the CPU most of the time, who can't assemble them and can easily be beaten most of the time without them.
And I've never even gotten close to that High Jump record. I think I may have broken 1,000 with Wheelie Scooter in Stadium mode, but that's obviously nowhere near 5,000+. It may be that the main reason I haven't reached that height is because I usually do Single Races. I may have to try that now...

No lie, i love the Winged Star It's quite balanced, and has a great glide stat. It's almost always my star of choice. Except when Dragoon, and the enhanced Warp Star are choices. They are the only two vehicles that can reach the boundary of City Trial (the upper one) With the default stats. I hate Hydra. Dragoon rocks. My goal is always: Find the Winged Star, no matter what the event is. Get as much glide and negative weight as possible. I believe the neg weights help gliding.

I have lost several drag races with Hydra. Charges too slowly. That's where the crapload of charges comes in handy. Or, it would were it not for the fact that I usually don't tend to GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK use the Hydra. As for weight, I know weight helps in head-on collisions. The machine with less weight seems to be the one that takes damage. Weight also seems to help in deceleration (which completely defies the laws of physics, since more weight=more mass=more inertia=harder to slow down, unless the friction increase between the ground and the bottom of the machine caused by the increased weight compensates for the increased inertia...). Gliding? Not so sure. I've read that weight stabilizes flight, I've read that it hinders it, I've read that weight does just about anything you can think of, really.
