Sounds pretty cool if you'll get to play it for a while at least, so you can get a feel for it, and maybe learn the controls some. Also Al, sorry, I didn't notice your PM earlier. I've been playing P4A and have been having a lot of fun testing some new crossup with Yosuke, I feel like I just improved to a whole other level today. I learned some setups to summon Jiraiya's charge attack to pressure the enemy on wakeup, and attacking from two sides with Jiraiya, and lots of Moonsault shenanigans, like Jiraiya attacking them while I Moonsault over them... So, let's play Blazblue tomorrow, then? O, I should be getting my new router tomorrow... The end of the d/cs? Hopefully. Anyway, after a day's work of learning lots of fancy crossup and Jiraiya + Yosuke tricks, a familiar name popped up in my online room... ... ... ... Guess who won? EDIT: Here's a tournament stream that's running live right now. Has some pretty good players already. Midnight Midnight has an impressive Elizabeth. www.twitch.tv/levelupliveEDIT: ... Very impressive Elizabeth.

And it said you were away! Oh well. New router= good. Coincidently I've been playing Blazblue today and I've felt like I've made a lot of progress with Relius! I went online but it was mostly bear-en except for a lambda player who beat me up... and a bang. A really good bang, about 300PSR. Sweept the floor with him, he caught me in a few combos but yeah... Claxus you still play a far better bang. Looks like I missed the elizabeth. All there was were two Yu's duking it out yawnarama!

Yeah, I was away for an hour or two, I got on my computer and turned my Xbox on, ate breakfast (at 4pm... Woke up way too late today), and got caught up reading stuff and the like until I actually started playing.
Since Midnight Midnight won, you'll probably see him in a later match. I'm not sure if he's already played his next match at this point since I stopped watching, but either way, you can check the stream archive later to see his matches.
Carl's not going so well for me yet, I still have trouble getting past normal Arcade, lol... But I really should work on Bang, I used to know a corner combo, I should try to relearn that at least. I need a slightly bigger arsenal to be more versatile... Oh, I need to find a good combo that works when you're crouching, too, 'cause his launcher kick whiffs even if I hit you if you're crouching and screws up the combo.

I typically find that I learn a bunch of tricks for Relius but never actually use them in battle because it's so heated. That annoys me because I want to do something other than the standard combo I use. However I have improved upon my corner combo... and I'm good at making a slap dash combo on the spot. I'll look up midnight midnight then, maybe I'll find a video of him somewhere... I suggest sticking with Bang against me until your a wizard with Carl, just saying.

Yeah, I don't really like to learn combos because of that, a lot of them are situational and kinda pointless to try and pull off in a real battle when there's much simpler and effective combos.
But I mean, I think having a corner combo, and one that works when you're crouching is pretty important.
I'm loving P4A's combos, though, for the most part, they're pretty lenient. And a lot of attacks can branch into two or three different ones, so you can kinda play how you like. And attacking in sync with your Persona allows for even more custom combos.
The combos are pretty lenient and easy to learn. I actually learned all of Yosuke's BnBs just from experimenting on my own. Didn't know about his Fatal Counter BnB, though, because those change the properties of the next hits and allow for even more attacks you can possibly chain together.
But in Blazblue, to me, learning two or three combos that you can pull off consistently is what's important. A combo that works anywhere, and a corner combo for more damage. And one combo that works on Counter/Fatal Counters to dish out awesome damage when you can catch your opponent with one. In the case of Bang, I need another combo that works when the enemy's crouching...
Actually, Blazblue is a bit annoying, because my Bang combo doesn't work on Carl or Rachel (and a few others I think), it drops partway. And there's a lot of good combos that don't work on certain characters, or are even more timing strict against others.
... And as I typed this, Midnight Midnight had a match.
... And lost. Oh well, you should look back to the stream once you have the game, he had some awesome Elizabeth tech and Persona usage.

I typically find that the size of a character doesn't change my game strategies, maybe Relius just gets a free ride when it comes to combos. Or maybe that only applies to his ground combos. Elizabeth looks like a character that I can just spend ages chaining attacks with at long range, with Thanatos. I really am going to be behind with arena aren't I...

Well, if you're good at Blazblue, you're already good to go for the most part. You just have to learn the new features, controls, and characters. Once I learned the controls, it's pretty comfortable to play as anyone, then it's just a matter of learning some good combos and how to use the character in general. After all, it's an Arc System game.
I play Yosuke kinda similar to how I play Bang, but he has different attacks and combos. You just gotta get used to the two character buttons and two Persona buttons, and stuff like Evasive Action, Furious Action, and status ailments. I'm not saying you'll be great the game day 1, but by the end of day 2, I can assure you you'll be a decent player.
As for attacking from a range, Elizabeth is great at it, but you'll have to be careful of having your Persona go off to attack on its own, because generally, if their attacks are blocked, they can be attacked easily. Elizabeth's Persona is still better than most, though, at attacking on its own from a range, especially since you can cover for it.

So I played the game today and it's SO GOOD. I waited for ages but eventually I managed to get 6 matches. I used a different character each time. I lost my first 3, won my next two and lost my last one. I started with Elizabeth and followed up with Labrys, then Aigis, then after another wait I won with Teddie and shadow Labrys ending finally with Yukiko, whom I lost with. My best character was Teddie so I may use him as a means to ease myself into the game when it comes out. Finally I got a poster and I may end up in a promotional video... I also talked to zen unlimited employees, who were running the show. I played the PS3 version, I didn't have a controller so I had to use a finiky arcade stick so it took me a while to get used to playing. I improved eventually. Cant wait to get the game for myself and I'd absolutely love it if my matches went online, and I desperately want to attend these events again.

Teddie is a noob-bane of sorts. He has some pretty good normals and specials, and is good in casual play. Or so, everyone says... I've never had any problems with him aside from fighting him the first time, not knowing his moves, which happened against fighting every character for the first time.
Still, he's a pretty good character. His D attack throws something random out from a list of like... 10+ items. Also, after his first item, the rest of the items come out in a set order. Personally, the only reason I like him is because he can throw toy mechs out.

Oh hey guys I finally found evidence that I was at the summer carnival! I'm in the background, I've got curly brown hair, I'm not looking at the camera, and I've got like a cardigan pattern on my brown jacket.

Went today! Brought my controller too so I was pllaying much better. For instance, I could actually use proper attacks with Elizabeth. I played really well with her today. Uhh... I also invited colonel sarcasm and another friend, too, and I got more matches. I finally was able to use every character. Oh, sorry, no stream footage. I wasn't playing on the PS3 the stream was coming from.

The european release date for this game has been pushed back to TBA 2013... how the h*** did they screw up such an amazing game this way. Bad blood, online ghost town, no announcement of new characters, DLC, sequels, anything really. I think this is the last time Atlus and Aksys team up. They, along with namco who also suck at localizing, make my three favorite franchises but they cop out with terrible localization. I blame the western game industry selling millions of gun wank each year, Spec ops: the line, please, please shame everyone out of this turgid position. I am now a far more jaded and bad person due to constant release date stuff, and I don't think I'll bother buying P4A, not even for Claxus. Hopefully BB chrono phantasama or under night in birth wont be so ridiculous.
Now if you excuse me, me and my main man Relius clover are going to train for the coming battles and make an army of robots so we can threaten the games industry and force them to not be twats sitting around banging their heads on their desks all day.

I missed this somehow... But, I'm not surprised honestly, considering they haven't given a release date for months. I stopped playing long ago though, so we could start on a closer skill-level after my skills rust away.
But admittedly I just don't care that much anymore either, they screwed things up.
What happened to Guilty Gear? I kinda lost interest fast, felt kinda weird playing an old game in 'HD,' but mostly it's just hard to go back after Blazblue and P4A, it's so much more smooth. I haven't played Blazblue since, either... I wonder what they're gonna change with Carl. Unfortunately he still has the shota pants, but he got a new voice I think? And with Jin, all I know is his rapidslash attack is now 22C, and doesn't work the same way for combos...
I just found out, Carl's Over-Drive is Synchro High Speed! It's not as gimmicky as I'd like... Just a power buff to Nirvana. But, I'm gonna have fun with the name. Such an awesome name. I synchro summon Nirvana! What say we kick this duel into over-drive?!
Accel Synchro Summon is the method of Summoning the new Accel Synchro Monsters. You also need to have extreme speed (when a character Accel Syncro Summons when going at high speed, they will vanish, and then re-appear behind their opponent along with their Accel Synchro Monster).

^ Carl gets a new astral heat I think. Yeah I haven't played BB or GG simple because I've been taking a break. I think I'll go and do GG's story mode though, and I'll probably see how laughably bad I do online. Other than that, fingers crossed for under night in birth and that BBCP releases in europe wtihin my lifetime.

I think this topic now is like, "Alberenza and Clax talk about fighting games in general because no one else cares about P4A (neither do Al and Clax anymore because they screwed up the EU release)." So I'll continue discussion here... New BBCP character! Sort of... Tsubaki Izayoi... Posessed by Izayoi. i.imgur.com/MQemt.jpgWell, that's cool and all, but like, couldn't they have changed her outfit without the typical skin-tight stuff? She was my favorite female with how fancy and refined she was, now she's all robo-valkyrie. Anyway, I don't really get what's going on here, but apparently she has a similar mechanic to Hakumen's Magatama.

... You lie. We've been on-topic up until yesterday, last two posts. And even the first of those two I mentioned P4A first before going off on the other games.

Is that aan lternate costume or something because I thought she was supposed to be wearing a black version of her regular outfit. Is that her unlimited form or a completely separate character like noel/Mu? Either way I really like. Unlike the Murakumo, she isn't showing off a lot of skin so it basically looks cool, and I think Tsubaki will still be dressing regularly on most occasions anyway. I'm going to look it up further!

On topic: Yosuke.
You may have found out by now, but it's a separate character. The original Tsubaki is still in the game, and she does wear a darker outfit. Still, the new outfit is cool, I just think it's too 'typical' with the rest of the game as compared to her original style. But she's possessed or whatever, oh well. I wonder if they're gonna keep introducing more characters...
