Greninja confirmed for Smash 4! I don't know what a Greninja is ._.Dammit I was greninja'd! (Greninja is the gen 6 water starters' final evolution) What njay did NOT mention is that while Greninja is the only newcomer, there is a LOT of news, as the site revealed a whopping FIVE characters today. Greninja, Zero Suit Samus, Shiek, Yoshi, and Charizard are all confirmed for Smash 4! This means Charizard is now his own character instead of being part of Pokemon Trainer. In addition, a couple final smashes have been added! Lucario and Charizard for their final smashes become Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X respectively. In addition, Greninja's final smash (probably) was also revealed. Watch it in this explosive super amazing new video:

I've also heard there were a few other characters teased/hinted at.

Greninja actually looks really fun. His kind of 'stoic loner' persona is very similar to Lucario's though. Considering this I actually wouldn't have minded if Lucario had been dropped from the roster to make way for a different pokemon or character, but I'm fine as is because Mega Lucario could change his playstyle a bit.

Pit has contest for main status... I know the feels.

Well, not really. Greninja's an amazing addition, but Pit can't take a backseat as my favorite. Link, Kirby, and Samus have another party member to join the struggle of second or third place though.
Speaking of Pit, I'm a bit bummed his final smash is in fact not a giant robot. Mega Man's final smash, though, made me shed a tear... For every Mega Man. And three for Volnutt. It's so beautiful and sad.
And the Final Destination mode is hilarious. And a nice thing. Competitive play can take place in non-repetitive environments, both in visuals and music.
+ Okay, I actually watched the Direct video now... Holy Gunvarrel. I don't even know where to start, the game's just... Incredible. And we still have a lot left to see. The only thing I don't like is the stages being console-locked, but both systems have good enough stages that I couldn't choose, anyway... Oh, the 3DS only having two songs per stage is the true con here. But hey, it's Smash 3D and portable (yes I actually love and use 3D). And we get our own City Trial mode thing which looks like a blast... Wii U probably is gonna make a comeback there later I'm assuming, with a storyish/platformer mode.
So much to say... But I'm loving the character balance, on paper anyway, but it's not a hard game to balance. I'm a little bit scared with Rosalina, but it looks like every character has great recoveries now. Little Mac's interesting... A ground cannon with a buildup OHKO, but terrible in the air and a recovery barely better than Brawl Olimar with no Pikmin. Olimar's changes are great, too!
Lots of Kid Icarus Uprising items, even a heavy club!
As for Pit ohmygod. Seeing his new final smash makes me feel better, it's so awesomely shonen and eye-candy. He can no longer glide which is saddening, but it seems his Up-B is now like a burst of gliding flight? Not sure how I feel about his glide and flight changes, but ohmygod his new animations are just amazing...
Transforming characters, no longer a thing. Guess it's fair play, but it shall be missed. Not a lot though, because that means more specials, except for armored Samus.
And, so yeah... Custom attacks. This game is just too much. Though I wonder why not allow them with randoms online? Hope they're not just overpowered variations, I'd love some diversity in serious play.
Speaking of which, I wonder if For Glory is 1vs1... Didn't pay much attention to that detail, being too excited about an actual competitive online mode...
Wonder what the 3DS and Wii U connection is going to be... Certainly hope it's not a cause of dread for someone who can't get a Wii U.
Lastly, it seems combos are more of a thing now. Hitstun in the air seems to allow a bit if juggling and follow-up. Seems great so far, but I hope it doesn't devolve the game into easy KO combos like 64 or Melee.
Now to wait... We'll have Super Smash Flash 2 online to help the wait, though. Really didn't think I could hype for a game like I did with Brawl or Uprising, but Sakurai's done it again...

Claxus says melee combos are easy KO lol.
That aside, I just watched the nintendo direct. Hoooooly crap that's awesome. I like Smash Run a lot, and the more I see of Rosalina the more I like her as a character.

I don't see the joke, it's true. Nowhere near 64's level, but Melee has a lot more hitstun than Brawl. You can combo into spikes and follow up from a lot of throws and up-tilts. Brawl generally stopped combos because you can dodge almost immediately after getting hit. I'm not talking about huge combos, but even simple 2 hit links, which is quite a difference when a character can up-tilt or grab into their strong air attack or a spike. As compared to Brawl where the enemy generally always has an option to retaliate.

Because three hits mean an easy KO combo. You may find them to be easy, and yes Melee has different hitstun. This does not mean it is "easy." Easy for you, maybe, but not for a lot of people.

I guess that's one way at looking at it... I just prefer the way Brawl works, because you always have a chance to fight back or dodge, but still have an advantage after launching someone. And since there's no combos at all, getting decisive hits is more important than possible combos as finishers. What I'm afraid of is that Smash 4 might be making it too easy... Just look at Greninja's gameplay. I'm keeping in mind that he may be very weak and it's a special playstyle, and probably even just the opponents sucking at DI, but the video shows a few combos: A sort of aerial launcher into an air attack, some ground two-hit combo, and an up-throw that looks like it has very long hitstun (or the opponent made no attempt to escape). Actually, there were more instances in the Direct video for different characters where it seems like following up attacks is very easy. And I don't mind, either. I'm just speculating, I'm fine with combos, I just don't want it to get out of hand where it's too easy to KO. It looks a bit between Melee and Brawl so it might not be a problem. Pit's section shows hitstun is generally more like Brawl, too.

I understand your views, I'm just saying with the whole things of DI, split-second L-cancels and all the technicalities in melee, comboing is not incredibly easy. Easier than Brawl? sure. but easy? I disagree. As for the trailers, I guarantee you they show them that way to make the characters seem powerful and appealing. Off the bat I can think of another trailer that was the same way (Rosalina), and turns out the Luma is AI controlled. I'm about 90% sure that it's just to make the character look good. Note Sakurai has also said any elements of the game revealed still may change. Even the physics of what we've seen of the game now may change. I don't feel like you have too much to worry about; like you said it's still not as much as melee or (god forbid) 64. On melee I disagree with you, but in 64 combos are too easy. (For myself.) ESPECIALLY with Pikachu.

Have they changed the name to Smash Pokémons yet, or is it still called Smash Bros? Seeing as they're saturating the game with them Pokés, I can hardly tell anymore. Well, no cares from me anyway as I'm not getting the game. - Admin

Foolishness, Admin, foolishness.
It's just natural, really. Pokemon is by far Nintendo's biggest series that sells even more than Mario, and that's saying somryjing. Ues, I said that and I'm not fixing it.
Wonder what's happening with the roster as a whole, though... The roster's already reaching Brawl's amount, and there's like 6 or more veterans missing? Plus, a Palutena picture leak, to be taken with a grain of floor salt.

^ Geez, aren't we defensive. Just putting it out now, that if you think the roster will end at 4 fighters, you're only kidding yourself. Even it were to be so, it would be much better to have roster spots open to actual persons with actual personalities. Give me Fire Emblem characters any day. Or Falco, Peppy and Slippy from Star Fox. Just saying. - Admin

Your comment of calling it "Smash Pokemons" is based off about 10% of the roster, and not even the biggest series. Right now we're already sitting at 7 mario-series characters opposed to 4 pokemon. Do I think the roster of pokemon will end at four? No, we'll end up with at least one more. But you're kidding yourself if you think Pokemon rule the entire roster. It's actually (probably) called Smash Bros. for the sole reason that mario characters make up the most amount of the roster (usually about 1/4) I just find it irritating when someone posts for the sake of bashing the game over an incomplete, baseless opinion and oppose everyone else. I get not wanting to buy the game, but just say "I'll pass" instead of saying something like that; please. That comment is a text definition of what trolls do. Also, in terms of Pokemon taking up a decent chunk of the roster; it's as popular, if not more so, than the company's main character, and has over 700 cantidates for fighters. Of course it'd have a decent amount.

I got a sound thrashing for that kind of attitude, so I'll politely ask that you pipe down lest I employ drastic measures.
