Lame. I hate when nintendo does that crap. They pick some stupid character no one really wants who gets a spot that could be filled by a character we actually care about. In example: dr mario in melee. And.... rob? In brawl. I honestly cant think of anyone from brawl really....... oh wait wario, god theyve been whoring him out since like wario ware 1. Its stupid. Mewtwo couldve easily filled that spot. Then again im generally just mad that mewtwo isnt in brawl but anywho. Personaly preferences aside, its getting kind of annoying when they do that stuff instead of just taking a pole and seeing which characters are wanted. I love wario.... |

I started typing that post at roughly the same time you did. I think you finished typing first. But honestly, all the characted ideas we've rattled off earlier, and theyve given us a biker who attacks with his farts. And a princess peach repaint with better backstory. Youd think theyd pole us like i said, and while ill probably end up liking rosalina, it irks me how they find certain characters that arent at what id consider "fan favorite" status to include. Like ice climbers and game and watch, they are nostalgia characters at best. And apparentlt incredibly broken when used right (ice climbers) and nust broken in general (mr g&w). That said, riku, i think somewhere youve missed my inherent prejudiced against mario characters (minus yoshi and toad, because those two are cool (except toadsworth, that dusty old fart needs to die already)) wario and waluigi are included in that hatred. Plus i hate how wario plays. So theres that too. |

Pretty sure people actually did want Rosalina, though. Plus there's no guarantee we're not getting Mario Galaxy 3 for the obligatory big epic 3D Mario for Wii U so it could also pass as promotion for the new game. Dr. Mario was a weird choice, being from a minor spin-off series I'm pretty sure only had two games at the time, but ROB is a part of Nintendo's history (not an especially large one, but still) and Wario has his own series. They took Mewtwo out because for some reason they thought that was a thing they should do, not to make room for Wario. And using public opinion to decide who to put in your game is a pretty bad idea outside of maybe one or two characters, they'd have to either make a list of characters to vote for which entirely defeats the purpose or sort through hundreds of characters that mostly got about the same number of votes because law of large numbers. EDIT: Youd think theyd pole us like i said, and while ill probably end up liking rosalina, it irks me how they find certain characters that arent at what id consider "fan favorite" status to include. If i had to instuitute a pole for it id put out a list of characters considered, and then say heres who we are thinking about. And based on the yes or no votes keep or toss them. Then do the same thing with a new list, and after maybe 5-10 of those poles say okay heres who the majority of you wanted. Heres who will be ingame. But thats just me. Also 90% of warios games are either 1. Mini game collections that are generally the same game repeatedly (ala mario party) and sidescrolling puzzle platformers. And while a few of them are fun, ive found most of them to be quite tedious and bland. Not that mt opinion is the end all be all, but meh its a public forum  Also and this is really the most important part of this post. Captain falcon isnt confirmed?! What the heck? Litterally 84.6% (not an actual calculated number) of the previous veterans are confirmed, and with cfs viral popularity due to all the falcon pawmch memes id have thought they confirmed him instantly. Whatevs ive ready stated how i feel about this character selection scheme thing. Ill probably buy the game anyways cause im a fan but still. |

They're focusing on characters people want the most. Tons wanted Rosalina. Fox, Toon Link, And Marth are the three I was hoping for. I know some people who love Peach. Also, Rosalina isn't a peach with better backstory. It's Rosalina and Luma. It's a combo. They're basically like ice climbers without the hammers and ice. I'm hoping for more sword wielders. Maybe Magnus, or someone from Fire Emblem, probably the main guy from the newest one(not the avatar). I'm 50% done with meta knight. I like him and all, but, idk. Ike would be cool to have again. I didn't really like Mewtwo too much in all honesty. Too slow. He was basically lucario. Can't wait to see who else they add/reintroduce . |

I've voiced my opinions on why I think Chrom is a horrible choice for this game, Riku, but...
Uh, anyway, yeah if you saw the trailer Rosaina's playstyle looks actually quite interesting. She can attack from a distance using Luma and I'm going to make a jokey Relius/Ignis comparison. Rosalina hasn't been kidnaped once, either, which unfortunately makes her the best female character in the mario universe. (Edit: Forgot about most of the mario RPG characters. Mimi is my favourite in the mario universe.) That and her backstory added more character to Galaxy. I'm fine with the choice and out of all the new characters I'm the most interested in trying her out. I'm still not fully sold on the roster however.

It's only 2/3, actually. Yoshi, Jigglypuff, Ness, and Falcon are all not confirmed yet. Honestly, I wouldn't be particularly surprised if that's because Jigglypuff doesn't make a comeback, Yoshi gets confirmed when they have something other than a trailer regarding New Island, Ness gets confirmed with a Mother/Mother 3 remake, and Falcon gets confirmed with a new F-Zero. ...Of course now that I type it out it sounds extremely surprising, but certainly not impossible. I didn't really like Mewtwo too much in all honesty. Too slow. He was basically lucario. *twitch* Did you really...? You really just said that. ... *Leaves before I explode* Aside from their special moves and the fact that they're both pretty floaty they're nothing alike. It's like saying Wolf is basically Fox, they have similar specials but everything else is completely different. |

That said, every veteran I wanted back is now back. Bowser, D3, and Toon Link. With the addition of another favorite, Rosalina, I'd be good with the current roster.

It wouldn't suprise me if Sheik isn't back, but she is from the "greatest" game in the Zelda series. (I think Wind Waker HD and the "A Link" subseries fit that role better, but eh. ALL OF THE KOOPALINGS added to Mario Kart 8. Why? *sigh*
Some DK stuff... indie titles... still no europe release for SMTIV... Superstar saga on the Wii U VC? I'll probably pick that one up...
X? X!! Man that gameplay was awesome! Super Xenoblade like and there was seamless transition between ground and giant mech fighting against giant monsters. I think Claxus will like this game. Oh, and that soundtrack.. I'll probably have to listen to it without the SFX when it comes out, but it sounded amazing! Looks like the music changes depending on weather you're in a mech or on the ground, too.
Oh, and Bayonetta 2 looks sweet.
NES remix is just pathetic.
Not a lot for me then, just the X and Bayonetta 2 stuff.

So now we're looking at a roster of 24 characters. Not bad, though we're missing four of the original cast still; Captain Falcon, Ness, Yoshi and Jigglypuff. If any of these characters don't make it into smash 4 I'll be legitimately suprised. I'd say we're far from finished with this roster. Probably looking at 40+ characters, and we STILL need Ridley. (in my opinion.) Just saying, another representative from Samus's series (and CF's) is long, LONG overdue. For someone they consider one of the "greats" of nintendo, she sure gets a lot of NOTHING. 25th anniversary for KI, LoZ, Kirby, and Metroid. LoZ gets a nice 25th anniversary thing like Mario did. Kirby also gets this. Kid Icarus, a series that was proclaimed dead, gets a long overdue sequel for its 25th anniversary. And Samus? Nothing. In smash, LoZ has had four characters representing it. Kirby has three. Kid Icarus is a newcomer to the series and even he'll probably get a 2nd rep for the next game. Even Ness, a boy from a series that only got ONE installment in the US, gets a new fighter to represent his series. And Samus? three games in a row and she has been the lone representative of the metroid series. Just saying, we need a new Metroid character in SSB4, and Ridley fits the role best. 1. We need more villains. 2. Ridley can be scaled down, like Bowser has and Olimar has (in an inverse way.) A recent miiverse post from Sakurai even said something along the lines of not taking scale as a very big issue. He could be scaled down. 3. He's the other well known character from the Metroid series aside from Samus herself. I'd say Yoshi needs it too, but he's part of the main mario series and a spinoff series of it. It could very well be done with something like Baby Mario&Baby Luigi as a duo character like Ice Climbers, but it's not NEEDED. Same could be said for Wario, they could add Kat and Ana or Ashley, but it's not needed. EDIT: Oh wait, apparently Ashley is an assist trophy, throw that out the window along with most likely any other warioware character since she was (probably) the most likely character. EDIT2: Oh, and Viridi is pretty much confirmed to NOT be a character since she appears in a stage. That's incredibly dissapointing. EDIT3: Also, Little Mac is the 2nd new character that shows a final smash. |

In other news, wow, thanks for totally changing my perspective on life by finally bringing me to the revelation that my opinions, in fact, are my opinions. You've rocked the very foundations of what I mistakingly thought was my existence good sir and I salute you. It was more than worthwhile to openly provoke me again, just to say that, after your masterful slaughter of my armies of words just a few days back. As such, it would be an honour for me to kneel before you and present to you the crown of awesome declaring you king of GFF the universe.
