mewtwo/dlc confirmed ridley deconfirmed Good God the infodumps I almost died from excitement about ten times. This is why you need a WiiU, Clax. Smash 3DS was the beta. This...this is something else entirely. 8-player Smash, new modes, voice chat online, sharing, Mewtwo, enormous stages, Stage builder, better everything...I think I'm gonna stop playing Smash 3DS and start doing tasks to save money to get Smash WiiU on release day instead of Christmas. Also that Bowser Jr. trailer was gorgeous.

I already have enough for a copy of the game bundled with an adapter, but I'm waiting for Christmas myself. I'll be playing far too much Persona in late November and December, though I can picture myself hating the wait even then. I might start playing Smash 3DS again.
Oh, and apparently the composer who did the Castlvania music was listed in this. So unless he did something else Nintendo related, I'm expecting to have a good time listening to Bloody Tears when the game comes out.

Also new patch for lame 3DS version that helps with lag.
Also those beautiful classic clear movies are back. I always loved those.

Decided to play a few for Glory matches today. Glad to see I'm not completely outclassed. Need to practice with more characters besides DuckHunt though.
Looking forward to the Wii U version even more than already I was. Over the holidays me and a friend who I haven't seen since August are going to get together and play it. It's been years since we played Brawl, too, or any other fighting game that we're equally good at, so I'm really excited.

I'm maining Robin for sure now I've decided (slowly getting better) and I'm debating Shulk again, along with Mario the combo machine. Rosalina's sorta fallen but I still like her (but only with Customs because Luma Warp and Shooting Star Bits are too good to come back from) and Bowser Jr's a no go completely. Uh...so it's looking like Robin/Kirby/Shulk/Mario/Rosalina&Luma/Marth/Little Mac/Lucina/King Dedede/Bowser right now I guess. That list has gotten a lot bigger.

I'm actually liking Bowser Jr more every time I use him, and Dark Pit is also really fun. I just got his custom bow special that gives you amazing control over the direction of the arrow.
Oh, Nintendo is doing a promotion by the way, at least in Europe. Register a 3DS and either Smash 3DS or Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and you can download a free game from a selection of seven, including A Link Between Worlds and Monster Hunter 3.
Half angry and half happy that I discovered I could play the 3DS ambassador games that were released years ago by clicking on the 're download' button on the E-Shop (Which is also playing Smash Music right now). This means I finally get to play Fire Emblem and the Sacred Stones. Apparently I could play this for years, and I never knew.

It's US too. I'm getting Kirby: Triple Deluxe since I never got around to buying that. That...or I might get Monster hunter since a friend's been pestering me to buy it.

^I lied. Good job Steve. That's not the real reason I'm here though. Shulk's Power Vision while in Smash Art is a OHKO against stronger attacks. I OHKO'd Luigi by countering an uncharged FSmash. It was pretty sick; Power Vision is awesome when it works.

Even Bowser can die at 0% if you counter his FSmash with it. I don't like it, honestly. Don't care how much 'harder' it is to land, that's just ridiculous, it's still an instant counter. It can even kill with Smash around 40% from something like a little Pikachu thunder jolt.

It can even kill with Smash around 40% from something like a little Pikachu thunder jolt. It's also much slower than shulk's normal vision and possible to dodge, and the counter window really is very small, and (apparently; I haven't paid attention to it) it gets weaker the more you use it, moreso than his normal counter. What customs do you use on shulk, Clax?

Being slower doesn't matter, because he slows down time for whoever hit him. If he's hit by a projectile it won't slow them down, but even with Dash Vision it's rarely a good idea to counter projectiles because of the startup and endlag (only his forward counter is reliable for countering projectiles, but that means they have to be shooting near point blank). It also doesn't actually get weaker. The way it generally works: When you use it (hit or miss), it has a lot of counter frames. Use it again too soon, and it will 'change' into a version with less counter frames. If you wait roughly 10 seconds in between each use, you'll get the full counter frames every time. If you use its 'cooldown' version (the lessened frames), then you'll have to wait around 18 seconds instead. Basically, Power Vision or not, if you're not a counter spammer, its continuous use downside is not a problem at all. Power Vision's downside is that its cooldown version will only counter for like a few milliseconds... But again, just wait 10 seconds between every use and it's just as easy to counter as with the normal one. And if you do manage to counter with the cooldown version, it's not any weaker.
It's just broken IMO. Putting aside the OHKOs since no one FSmashes at the start, it still gimps pretty early with Smash off any decent attack like tilts, dash, or aerials... And gets reliable kills without Smash at higher percents. And it typically does 16-18% without Buster. Mighty Air Slash can KO the average weight character from the ground at 80% with the normal Smash art... That's pretty crazy, but at least it has less range and is much more punishable.
Anyway, it's hard to stick by a custom MA. Hyper is fun and I like to switch arts often, but at the same time, Shield is like... Are you gonna get hit in 7 seconds? That goes for most arts though. Feels a bit rushed for a patient character. Decisive I would probably play more seriously, but Shield and Speed can be a bit of an issue if you get knocked off since you can't switch out to recover... But I like the stronger effects and the more strategic feel that's also more like Xenoblade.
I like Advancing Air Slash since it looks coolest, and can be more offensive since it's less punishable. Can also be used to bypass the ledge when recovering and just slide onto the stage.
Backslash Leap is best for getting the back hits since it's faster and stationary, but I like Backslash Charge for the utility of its sheer range and that awesome super armor, even though it's not too rewarding.
And Dash Vision as it's safer if it whiffs, and can be a pretty good recovery if chased off stage. And not borkd.

To be fair, Shulk has the best counter in the game to begin with even without Power Vision and Smash Vision is gonna KO really early regardless of whether you use Power vision or not. That aside, I'm not suprised with those customs (though I am suprised you like Decisive Monado), though I think all of the custom Back Slashes are pretty bad. Charge has SA, sure, but its damage is so bad it's not even funny. As for Dash Vision...it's weird. I don't know.

Normal Vision with Smash does KO, but not off jabs at 40%. Power Vision is really just the same thing (if you're not a dumb counter spammer), but hits like a Warlock Punch just for countering a jab.
I like Decisive because it's just fun and more strategic. It makes you really think about when to use each art, but at the same time, their effects are a bit stronger. The downsides are actually the same though.
Backslash Leap is better in some ways. It's faster and does the same damage. So it's actually better at getting back hits, and great at crossing up in the air. Charge just turns into more of a trump card move. It lets Shulk be reckless and break through anything. The damage isn't good, but it nets him some momentum, and opens some options for attacking long range enemies.
Dash Vision isn't that much different, but I just like having the extra range with it. It's especially useful in the air.

I know why Decisive is good, it's just that you never acted like you understood. Honestly I can't see myself using Shulk without Decisive. 11 seconds is...not enough to do whatever your Monado Art is. I never use Speed so recovery is less of an issue too.

I was loving the Guar Plains remix until it just decided to cycle through parts of the other songs at an accelerated rate. It sounded awful. I'm glad Mechanical Ryhtym and Confrontation with the enemy are selectable songs, the lack of Unfinished Battle is my only real quibble.
EDIT: So I'm subscribed to the channel that posted the un-boxing video (I have been for a while, their discussions are pretty good and they've had guests like Chuggaconroy, Somecallmejhonny, and Kirbopher.) and they've been feeding me a bunch of content so far, but nothing much more interesting than song lists and some new stages. Some guidance talks with our favourite newly revived Nintendo characters, however.
Aaaaaand this one is instantly amazing, it's like me and Viridi/Sakurai are kindred spirits:

I'll only buy this game if Roy gets back. I gave Brawl a chance, but without the unquestionable best character around, the game felt way too empty. - AdminHey admin. Roy's in smash 4.
