Soo... guess I'll follow the crowd? EDIT: Should probably mention that I pre-ordered a physical copy yesterday, it was almost £10 cheaper to pre-order rather than wait for a digital copy. Should hopefully arrive on friday! That will give me a full 12 hour afternoon following class and a weekend to get acquainted with it. sweet, I have it preordered too.

One of which shows Yoshi teleporting. Also... (Yeah, I know it's a bit early.) EDIT: Hey Claxus, here's some new Nosferatu information. Thought you might want to know.

AUGH Robin's English voice for BOTH genders is so bad! I play through FE;A with Japanese voices now, and I liked SSB4's Female Robin voice, but the English voice sounds so bad!
EDIT: Also, Duck Hunt Dog is pretty amazing. His projectile game seems to be really, really good, and his up-close viability isn't lacking either, unlike someone... (megamanmegaman)
EDIT2: Robin's Elwind 1 and Elwind 3 both have a meteor hitbox near Robin's hand. Also, all the Thorons have the + version where holding B after firing makes it do more damage. Thoron 1 does 18% this way.

They're not bad. I know the male one at least sounds very close to his default in FE:A. I kind of like them more, Robin's voice is pretty memorable, and the Japanese one sounds too much like what I always hear from anime leads, and the female one too much like the usual abusrdly kawaii female voice actress. What disappoints me is that only the female says the "time to tip the scales" quote correctly. And he better have "now that's strategy" as a victory quote... Anyway, that Nosferatu is looking pretty great, but I still can't tell how hard it is to land and how laggy/punishable it is, plus it can be mashed out of so those numbers will probably be a lot less in practice.
I think I'm revising my third pick though, I was looking more at Shulk and Greninja and I'm starting to really like Shulk a lot more.
Shulk can see it...

I think I'm revising my third pick though, I was looking more at Shulk and Greninja and I'm starting to really like Shulk a lot more. Shulk can see it... When Robin has 999% and the opponent does not mash, Nosferatu heals 326%. ...Just a fun fact. It scales quite a bit though. At percentages of 100 or so, even with mashing and facing forward Nosferatu's going to heal around 20%, because 100% vs. 0% in front without mashing already heals over 40%. That's really good, actually, though the grab is somewhat punishable if it misses (57 frames for the entire animation if you whiff it, that's just under a second.) Also, they're very Japanese characters, it's not odd for them to sounds like anime characters, that's basically what they are. I just...really, really have problems with Female Robin's voice. Anyway, yeah, Shulk is really interesting. He's caught my eye recently as well. In terms of Nosferatu, I feel like it'd be a good idea to use it right after launching an arcfire or maybe arcfire into arcthunder into nosferatu since Arcthunder has a really long stun period. Since Nosferatu is a command grab it can be used in the air too, so that's a plus. It also doesn't make you slowly fall or anything while the opponent is grabbed, though if you use it over a pit...you're dead. EDIT: Actually, this covers just about anything I can say about Robin better than any other video I've seen. EDIT2: Back to Shulk...I said before how Shulk's 2nd special (the one that lasts longer) would be the best. ...pfft. I saw it from one of Al's videos. It lasts WAY too long to be useful. It's gonna be 1 or 3 (I'm going with 1 because 3 is too EXTREME for me.) EDIT3: Also I like how we all just kinda decided Shulk is awesome. SMASH GET HERE FASTER ONLY 2 MORE DAYS GOFASTERDAYS

Of course I don't have a problem with anime voices, but I just feel like the English voice has a sort of distinction that was really memorable in FE:A, whereas the Japanese voices are very good but I can probably list a lot of anime characters that have essentially those same voices. Kind of like... Johnny Young Bosch and gang being everywhere in dubs. Anyway, I never really heard the English female Robin in FE:A, but I really like her voice in Smash, too. ... Anyway, Nosferatu looks like it'll take some work to land. You can even see part of the magic effect touched Ike but it still whiffed, and if that Ike CPU wasn't sad, Robin could have been punished a few times there. I was a little worried about Robin being a bit too mary sue and very high tier, but I think he seems pretty balanced after seeing gameplay over the days. His whole moveset is actually pretty laggy, especially all his specials, and despite having a sword, his range is pretty pathetic for the most part. He's just excellent at spacing and tacticgames, and it seems that with good setup he can really land some combos, like arcfire can combo into thoron which is scary. And hey, I hyped and decided Shulk was awesome way back when he was just a rumor.

Looking forward to seeing which characters we all like and end up maining. I guess we'll be learning just about everyone in practice. I just can't wait to get my hands on the game. My order was posted today, and it was apparently posted royal mail first class. Fingers crossed for next day delivery.
I'll see how it goes and I'll do some testing, but I'll probably go with Monado arts 3. I can always switch to smash and knock the opponent out of the stage before returning to neutral or switching. Monado shield is going to be very fun to use at high percents as well. Backslash is going to be really difficult to land, though. Otherwise I like the look of Airslash 2, but I have no idea what I'm going to do with vision counters.
Mii gunner looks interesting as well. Mainly because I'll get to wear a suit and tie.

For Monado Arts 3, I'm sure you know, but be really careful. Under Extreme Smash Arts, Shułk is lighter than Jigglypuff...Shield makes you about half the speed of Ganondorf, and Buster... I saw shofu in his "for glory matches" use Buster and Smash wrong. A bowser KO'd him at around 30% with an F-Smash that did around 40%. Amplify that further and you've got Monado Arts 3. For Robin I'm going 2-1-1-1 (Thunder is 2) no matter what. As for Shulk, probably just all of his normal specials.maybe Air Slash 2. Oh, that reminds me, Al, go with counter 1. Counter 3 has an extremely small frame window and Counter 2 is incredibly weak. Counter 1 is already really good.

Looks like Shulk is going to be heavily based around risk and reward. I need to look at all the backslash variations again.
Is Duck Hunt good? He's probably the character I know the least about at this point. I'm only really aware of his kick the can special.

He's probably the character I know the least about at this point. I'm only really aware of his kick the can special. He's fast, has great projectiles and range, and decent power. Yes, he's good. And hey, I hyped and decided Shulk was awesome way back when he was just a rumor. Just noticed this. SSB4 Robin doesn't even sound like any of Robin's options for voices in English in the actual game. If it sounded like the default voice I wouldn't be too bothered...but it's the wrong voice. Also, Johnny Young Bosch (and since we're on the topic of mainstream dub voices, Todd Haberkorn) is a great voice actor.

JYB is a great voice actor, but I just meant that he and some others have just become a bit too common throughout anime characters. Robin's voice sounds a bit off, but it actually is the same voice actor as his default. I think it's just the way he says the lines differently. Female Robin is a different voice actress, though. Also, Palutena sounds pretty close despite also being a different actress... Duck Hunt Duo is looking very good. Fast, powerful, area control, disjointed attacks, and good range. His recovery looks gimpable despite having a lot of range, though. Man, I hope EShop doesn't self destruct.

That aside, I'n going digital...heh. I C wut u did thar. I thought about getting a digital copy, but I'd rather not lose all my data if I sell my 2DS when I get the New 3DS next year. (And by extension lose access to smash bros.)

Taking some time getting used to the new characters. Maybe I shouldn't have tried Shulk first? Because I just tried Little Mac and he was fun as hell. Shulk felt a little stiff.
Robin is also pretty fun, Metaknight seems to be better all round. He can't glide on up b, though. I don't think he'll devour the metagame like last time though, because everyone else has caught up to him.
Unlocked Ness pretty quickly. The silly kid commited suicide via lightning. Also, Live and Learn is in this game and it makes smash run amazing.
Need to get round to Palutena and Rosalina.
