So I'm guessing everyone here is going to get the 3DS version? I'm not too interested in it myself, mainly because I don't feel like purchasing the same game twice. Doesn't look like there are any meaty game modes, either, though at least online multiplayer seems to be a heavy focus. I can only imagine the lag will be pretty horrendous when there's too many players though.

Nintendo can do online multiplayer well (MK8) with minimal lag. Yes I know they're two entirely different genres, but I think it'll be better.

Well, I'm more worried about the 3DS version. Then again, MK7 ran fine, so perhaps I'm worrying too much.
The smash run looked interesting, and I think there were several other game modes, but is that it? Oh, I also remember a campaign being announced ages ago. Maybe it might be a decent purchase.
Anyone know what's up with those Amiibo things? From what I can tell, they seem to be little figurines that will allow you to transfer characters between the 3DS/Wii U versions and allow them to 'get stronger'. The feature might be interesting but I'm really confused about it, and obviously inevitable skylanders comparisons put a bad taste in my mouth, even though I already have a few anime figures...

It's UB Funkeys all over again. ...not really. I have no idea. Maybe they're how you get the customizable special moves...or something.

Pit confirmed to not have a Dark Pit alt costume... In the demo, anyway. It's looking likely that Dark Pit will be a different 'costume' with different voice clips... Or something better. But it's just a demo.

Rhythm Heaven enemies confirmed. Yeahh, Chorus Men, Chrom, and Shulk are incredibly likely at this point.

More interesting info. Very cool news. www.smashbros.com/us/howto/entry2.htmlTo summarize: Every character has all four specials customizable, with each special having 3 types to choose from. (I really wonder how this will affect recoveries.) Like it's been known, Miis have completely different custom specials, but Palutena also shares this trait. Equippable items. You can get equips throughout the game, and equip them to increase various stats (power, speed, knockback defense), but in turn, they also hinder another stat. Mii characters will have special aesthetic customization for their clothes.

inb4 Metal rage since he probably hates Lucario since he thinks he replaced Mewtwo. Of course, now that I said that it probably won't happen. nah i wouldnt rage, lucario was one of my mains in brawl, not that he is anywhere near as good as mewtwo... but thats kinda because well mewtwo is legendary, only one of him canonically and all. anywho, i still am not sold on the roster, so far it looks like ill be maining megaman, and im hoping protoman and bass get assist trophies, idealy theyd be playable, but meh its not gonna happen. fingers still crossed for characters i prefer gonna go check out the current roster now so i can cry that minnccino isnt a thing. so greninja looks cool, as does.... palutena, dark pit is probably a thing, based on how the palutena vid ended, though if he is, im curious to see how he is different from regular pit. and pacman.... sure why not? its not like anyone asked for pacman? whatever, ive given up that im going to get a roster i 100% am okay with.

^Many, many people asked for Pac-Man. Four companies' primary mascot fighting in a no-holds barred fight? People wanted that. YOU didn't. Metal, your comments on this thread irritate me to no end as you repeatedly sound whiny because the immaculate Mewtwo isn't a character. Please stop acting like that. Forsaking an entire roster with a bunch of characters you haven't played for one character not returning is rediculous.

ive been over him not returning, like i said, ive accepted that im not gonna get a roster i 100% like or want or whatever, the pacman thing was a legitimate question, i didnt even know they were still making pacman games lol, im fine with him being icluded, he look interesting, just wouldnt have been my first pick. i guess he is technically namcos mascot, and yea, that gives him a "hey who is this guy? whoa! games i didnt know about? then two months later another pacman game comes out" factor, and i get that, he just kinda threw me off as the newest challenger. honestly i wish they would do that with more games, like im happy megaman is included, not just because i like megaman, but because he creates the possibility of more megaman games in the future, like say legends 3, which frankly shouldnt have been cancelled, but the plot they were lining out seemed stupid anyways, so redo? idk, and say like wonderful 101, assist trophy worthy? yes. id hold out for viewtiful joe, but hes already in marvel v capcom, so thats out. lol id really like to see more characters like pacman, from games that ive enjoyed, so that they get a reboot, remake. at this point im hoping konami makes a deal with them and gets a boktai character included. django has the potential for a great moveset. so in short, sorry if ive seemed whiny, i didnt intend to come across that way, i mean, yea i am going to whine about characters i enjoyed getting cut from the game, like falco isnt confirmed /: but i feel that everyone has done that to some extent? but i will do so less, about characters anyways, cause im kinda peeved about the pushed back release date... meh, that was from last year anyways

A little older, but here's a good amount of gameplay with some very clean quality: www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u-rosalina-gamepl/2300-6419664/?utm_campaign=gamespace_b&utm_content=footer&utm_medium=partner&utm_source=gamefaqsThis specific video has some more Pit. Sadly, it seems all pre-release Pit players are very... Incapable. This one showed off a little more, but really just spammed FSmash the whole time. Show off the recovery and guardian orbitars! At least, they used SideB in the air, it looks like it's going to seriously buff Pit's aerial game. When it hits in the air he does an aerial shoryuken. By the way, for Al's comment about Shaft's animated trailer, Palutena did a head tilt, just throwing that out there (as well as in the older animated short, and the food monster invasion and giant food mecha was trippy enough). Anyway, what do you think of the new theme? I love it. I loved Brawl's theme, but this really goes back to the old roots, and sounds much more grand for an all-out Nintendo crossover, with possibly the most hype roster (and other features) I've ever seen in any game aside from the Another Century's Episode series.

Yep, looks like Palutena engaged in the shaft head tilt in an older short. She didn't do any shaft branded head tilts in the new trailer, however. I guess basically every character tilts their head to the side slightly, closes their eyes, and smiles however.

That's not trippy animation (except for the first one, that's just disturbing.) Oh, also, I love the new theme. It's not on Melee levels, but it's great nonetheless.

The third one under that isn't disturbing at all. Al was referring to backgrounds for trippy animation, though.
Bowser's down-b breaks a full shield. And edgehogging is basically impossible now. There's almost no invincibility from grabbing the ledge, but the major change behind it is that you can now 'steal' the ledge. If someone is on the ledge, even during their invincible frames, if someone else grabs it, the character currently on it is bumped away as the new character takes the ledge. I think the only exception is falling in a helpless state, you won't be able to steal the ledge like that.
I like it, there's a lot more effort in edgeguarding now.

I agree. *On topic of tilted heads* the third one isn't creepy; at least not like that first one. It just looks unfeeling, the first one looks like his head's just going to end up upside down like some horror movie stuff, then eat your flesh because it's cliche.

Did everyone see this?
I somehow missed this. There's a lot of recap, but there's some new content shown in there.
Looks like there's going to be a sort of new classic mode, with some stage select and Kid Icarus: Uprising difficulty selection. A little more Smash Run footage, and several sneak peeks at menus and little glimpses of a lot of brand new minigames.
Most of the video is other stuff, though. 11:15 is lolz. The intro is also pretty hilarious.

Despite missing E3's coverage entirely from being out of town, I'm surprised how lukewarm the Amiibo's reception is on here. . .
On the other hand, I should probably be saying that when I'm not too tired to explain why I like them. ><
On that note, someone remind me to explain why I like them within this week or so.
