Is there a way I can find you guys in Dream World? Without doing the friend code exchange and a Wi-fi encounter? (as that's too hard to align times for :3) Playing through White 2 now. Fairly addicting, with so much to do ;D Making movies is addictive too, even if it's somewhat useless besides the fact that I have more than 70 Lemonades in my bag now

That aside, I've started playing platinum again. I never liked 4th gen first time (during that phase where I began to lose interest in pokemon, fixed by Gen 5's refreshing feel.) but replaying it, I love Gen 4's pokemon options (and all the evolutions it added to gen 2 pokemon) However, I wish I had Pearl version. Why? Because there's one particular pokemon that isn't in platinum or diamond; only in pearl. My favorite Ghost type, Misdreavus (Well, its evolution Mismagius.) I suppose Gengar's cool too; they're very similar. My party will probably end up like this: Torterra Staraptor Medicham Garchomp Gengar Gastrodon My team as of now? Grotle Kadabra (to be replaced w/my last pokemon to be added) Staravia Shellos On another subject, I don't understand why Muk is considered so bad. Poison is a decent defensive type overall, it's pretty bulky and has good offensivecpower with a good movepool to utilize it...it's slow, but good. Of course its abilities suck compared to his rival weezing.

Looking in this thread reminds me that I was in the middle of replaying FireRed a month or two ago. I forget what happened to that, but I'm pretty sure I caught Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres and was trying to find a way into the Viridian City gym without ever having gone to the Vermillion City one. I should get back to that sometime.

thadudette: You got to get them strange endings! They are a) hilarious (sometimes) and b) you get better stuff afterwards. Also nets more cash, which gets you better rank / a new movie to do. @steve: Muk is bad because it doent have a great physical def, which poisons kinda need in a meta infested with Fighting type moves. (main reason they are used, tbh). Also, weak def + ground weakness = useless. earthquake is too strong. That is why Weezing is used instead. Levitate removes ground weakness, sports great physically defense naturally, can learn Will o' Wisp to make it even harder to kill with physical moves, and the list can go on. Overall, as a defensive poison pokemon go, Weezing is just that much better. Last note, Weezing has Fire Blast. makes a roast turkey out of Skarmory no problem. And as a general note, does anyone have a female riolu with prankster? I'll trade for it :3

^That's true. Several advantages of Muk however are: Its good physical attack combined with a move like gunk shot. Its ability to soak up toxis spikes (one thing weezing cannot claim.)
All in all, Muk is more suited as an attacker. Also, most the time flamethrower is used over fire blast.

Hm, you have a point, but poison is a terrid offensive typing. It only hits Grass for super effective, a type not commonly seen without a second type (ie Grass/ poison being the most common, which makes the damage netural)
That, and it hits Steel, the premier defensive type, for absolutely nothing. And hits fighting, psychic, bug and other poisons for half dmg. Whilebug aren't that common in most competitive battles (unless they have duel type that gives them an advantage, ie Bug/Steel) due to Stealth Rock, Psychics are widely available in all tiers.
As for absorbing poison spikes, that is true, but there are other, faster and more viable poison types that can do that. Tentacruel and Toxicroak are two that come to my mind. Toxicroak you wont see anywhere near as often as Tentacruel (4x weakness to Psychic does that) though.
Not gunna say Muk is bad, there is just a ton of better options for the same job.

Go start a lemonade stand infront of your movies and HOG THE MONEH!!! Why watch a two-minute movie when you can have LEMONADEZ!!!!! ;D thadudette: You got to get them strange endings! They are a) hilarious (sometimes) and b) you get better stuff afterwards. Also nets more cash, which gets you better rank / a new movie to do. Yeah, I really enjoy the movies for the storytelling and extra art aspects ;D Past that though ... it's not quite so useful except for the fan gifts :3 Weird endings? But I have to get the perfect endings! PERFEEEEEECCTT!!! I forget what happened to that, but I'm pretty sure I caught Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres and was trying to find a way into the Viridian City gym without ever having gone to the Vermillion City one. *brain explodes* I had to fight a war of attrition with Muk using my Shuckle. =_= [/notactuallyrelatedtothesubjectathand] P:

Gastrodon is amazing. Just, amazing. Great ability that grants two immunities, great defensive typing, good movepool, one weakness, good stats...just yes.

Apparently you can't, in fact, go to the Viridian Gym without beating all the other ones unless there's some glitch I don't know of. Also I already figured that out and was half-way through the Saffron Gym. I am now at the start of Victory Road with a not-thought-out team of Charizard, Beedrill, Omastar, Primeape, Raichu, and Parasect. Half the types can one-shot half my team, it's pretty great. Also the only thing above level 40 is Omastar at 41.

Onix is le garbage. Unless you plan on wasting a metal coat to make it a Steelix. Then it bad....
Sandile is so much better. Ground/Dark has two useful immunities, and will make the E4 a breeze. If it has Moxie, even better, although Intimidate is still a good ability for it (as it has mehish to bad defenses).

I think not. ...I'd like to figure out how to do all that DW nonsense now. How does it work? And how does the 3DS Dream Radar thing tie into it? (Off-topic: "Radar" is a palindrome. Isn't that interesting? Not really.)
