You know what else factors into this? Play style and borg choice. No more arguing.

i'm surprised you didn't try to do the Normal Ninja Combo with her doggy. i really like her because of the fact that you are forced to combo with her. i enjoy combo-ing, therefore i like to use shadow girl. with all of the better borgs gotcha force has become too easy for me, so that's why i tend to not use them as much, but some childhood favorites that aren't super broken are Normal Ninja, and Shadow Girl. they both require skill to use live, and they're both fun, too. if i get the chance i try to close range, but of course my normal ninja uses the shuriken and bombs for the bigger borgs. shadow girl, you don't have the long ranged moves, so i like to see how well i can do against the stronger guys (with the shadow slash mostly), and combo occasionally. Um... that isn't comboing. A combo is where you link three or more moves together. So with Sonic Samurai if you used your X slash to make them stagger while you closed in, used you standard attack 3 times (on the fourth time it knocks them away) and then X button dash through them. Or using Sapphire Knight to bounce people off of walls so they land next to him and are ready for a face smashing. What I am seeing is him trying to kite with Shadow Girl and then attack them with standard attacks (which knock them away). Also, pretty much any borg can combo and the game is easy enough to be able to beat it with anyone in pretty much any way so you really don't have to spam... like ever. People who use Samurai Shogun to spam his giant laser slash are kind of sad in my opinion. may i ask you if you know what a normal ninja combo is dillybar? a normal ninja combo is where you do a single aerial move that flinches, do that over and over (usually four times), and end with a more powerful move, such as X. it is called such because Normal Ninja is most well-known for using it. there are a good number fo borgs that can do this combo, but mostly ninjas. for shadow girl, if you do her aerial B attack without the dash, it is a slash, not a stab, and you can repeat the slash, and finish with her teleport slash.

So, I've reached level 6 with the Shadow Girl! ;D (I would've done that long ago, but I took a break to play Pokémon for a few weeks.) I could just be hallucinating or something, but I think her air-dash has improved over time. Anyway, one-third of the way there!!! ;D

Dreams = Shattered Great, now I feel bad for shattering your dreams. I'm guessing Shadow Girl is your favorite borg, and you hoped she would be better than they say she is? If that's the case, I'd recommend Killer Girl. Also, until I disprove it, I'm going to continue to believe that Shadow Girl will be able to destroy nearly anything with the X attack at level 10. We'll see if that's true or not... in about 245 battles. This might take a while. UPDATE: LEVEL 7! ;D Only... 240 more battles? Seriously? Five battles took me that long? I need to speed up! But not now, as it's, like, 10:20 PM where I am right now and I need to get up at 5:50 tomorrow morning. ANOTHER UPDATE: 450 EXPERIENCE! I'M FINALLY HALF-WAY THERE!!! ;D YET ANOTHER UPDATE: I've reached level 9. I would express more enthusiasm, but even as I type this I'm working on reaching level 10. In the time it took me to type this I got at least 20 experience and my gold ICBM reached level 10.

Mission accomplished. My Shadow Girl has reached level 10.
The results? She has 145 HP. No surprises there, that's entirely unremarkable. She has no Sword Knight-style energy waves from her attacks. Her X attack does not instantly charge the Boost meter. And the most disappointing thing? The attack also can't even kill Sasuke in one slash.
In conclusion, Shadow Girl is exactly as bad as we thought. But she still can charge the Boost meter faster than most other borgs, so that's pretty much the only advantage she has, aside from the whole Use the boost to get through and spam the X attack to kill dragons thing. But a lot of borgs can do that. So yeah. It's (about) 11:15 PM here. I"M GOING TO BED!

Case closed.

Case closed.Again, not entirely worthless. She can charge the boost meter faster than a lot of borgs, it seems, but we've concluded that that's not too important. She can spam the X attack in Boost mode and kill dragons, but a lot of borgs can do that too, so that's irrelevant. But using her in battle is an interesting challenge, like using a Death Borg, but with more HP, more cost, and less range. So, mostly worthless. No matter how many people say she's completely worthless, I will continue to make this argument. If she can kill something, she is useful. Not very useful, but useful. Any further posts saying she's completely worthless will be responded to with me quoting myself. Until I get tired of quoting myself repeatedly. Which won't take long.

If she can kill something, she is useful. Not very useful, but useful. Put it this way. If the hypothetical perfect player cannot beat a mediocre player with every borg with the same point cost in one borg, they are rubbish. The hypothetical perfect player cannot defeat a mediocre player with a flying borg that just stays really high. Shadow Girl has zero way to deal with airdashers/flyers, and since being really high is pretty much the definitive way to not die in this game, she's kinda screwed.

Maybe it's just because the AI sucks, but I've never had that problem myself. Actually, it's pretty much definitely because the AI sucks. I need to play the game against an actual person. Anyone know how to get online play working for a game without online play?

I have a Lv 10 Shadow Girl.
She's a high-risk high-reward sort of Borg. There are more than a few cases where it pays to have her in your force.
- Anti-Fortress- Pitting a Shadow Girl against a Fortress borg will make relatively short work of the fortress, while building up the hyper gauge very quickly. Naturally the fortress will be hurting you quite a bit too, but it beats painstakingly pecking away at their armor with a peashooter.
- Anti-Dragon- This one's a bit risky at first, since getting close to the dragon in the first place isn't the easiest task in the world, but once you get in close you can just slice through the dragon repeatedly and dispatch it quickly. Shadow Girl has a pretty easy time staying in the dragon's blind spots, and can even dodge his bombs using the teleport slash. Yet again, the hyper gauge will be filling rapidly
- Anti-Melee - It almost seems counterintuitive, but Shadow Girl really shines against any opponent who would want to get close to her, much moreso than an enemy that's trying to evade her. Given the unmatched speed and stun effect of her dash-stab, she can easily interrupt attempted melee assaults and then bolt through her enemy, ending up behind them, which is a weak spot for many melee-centric borgs.
- Anti- Air- You probably think I'm crazy by now. I swear I'm not. Shadow Girl's air-dashing melee will track borgs above her, causing her to gain height while she uses it. Thus, it is possible for her to chase Air Borgs into the air, relentlessly following them from behind, completely safe from their frontal attacks.
And finally...
- Partnered with a human ally - When Shadow Girl is in her element, there's going to be a lot of hypermode going on, and who better to make use of it than a spam-shooting juggernaut of a human ally? What's more, if said ally is utilizing a Fortress or Dragon Borg, turning your blade on your own friend will cause them minimal damage while powercharging your hyper, turning your already powerful friend into diabolical spam cannon.
So, yeah. She's not a borg for every-day usage, and gets eaten alive by peashooter-fire from multiple targets, but when the weather is just right, a well-placed Shadow Girl can really speed up what would otherwise be a long fight.
