I have a couple of questions I've wondered about for a while.
1. Where are Celestia and Luna's parents?
2. Where are Twilight Sparkle's parents?
I find the second one more pertinent than the first, as the only time I've ever seen them is in Twilight's flashback in "Cutie Mark Chronicles". I didn't even see them at the Canterlot Wedding, and that's their son getting married. THey also weren't present in any of Twilight Sparkle's happy childhood flashbacks.

1. Not known at all, which makes speculation all the more fun.
2. They probably stay in Canterlot since that's where they lived before Twi was sent to Ponyville. And actually, they were at the wedding. Right before the actual wedding part, the camera focuses on them wiping tears.

Well, I can't really say much for their parenting if the only happy memory Twilight seems to have of them is when they enrolled her in the magic school.

We might get some more info on all the mane cast's parents this season, but I'm doubting it.
Also, I'm sure Twilight has more memories with her parents, but do recall she's always worrying about her studies so she probably doesn't think too much of them. Though I will agree that at this point they don't seem to take a very active part in her life, but you could say that about any other of the mane 6.
We haven't even seen Fluttershy's, Applejack's, nor Rainbowdash's parents. Pinkie's live in the outskirts of Ponyville, yet they don't seem to visit, Twilight's seem to be busy at Canterlot, and Rarity's apparently visit occasionally, (though it might just be to dump Sweetie Belle on her while they vacation).
Overall, it appears as though none of their parents play active roles in their present life, which is actually quite concerning.

Especially considering everything I've seen says they aren't - not to be crude, but - of breeding age, as, except for Rarity and Spike which is mostly innocent, there is NEVER talk of romance or boys. So, we've got six preteens running around in their own houses and living their own lives - running their own business in a couple of cases - without parental supervision. What kind of parenting is that?
As for Applejack, seeing as she lives with her grandmother and two siblings, I kinda figured that her parents just weren't in the picture anymore...for whatever reason.

I always thought they were adults or at least young adults (I think Faust said something similar too).
Twi is in the equivalent of college or grad school, Rarity has her own business, Pinkie Pie interns/works at the bakery, Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie, and RD is the head of the city's weather department.
Seeing as how cutie marks are sort of analogous to puberty, Applebloom and co. at least in their teens in middle school which puts AJ around the same age as the rest of the mane 6.

But it's been established that Luna is Celestia's 'little sister'. THat means Celestia was round when Luna was born. I don't care if it turns out their parents were natural forces (Father Universe/Mother Flame style) or actual ponies...I want to know the mythos. |
