actually, since Guarda is a partner borg, there are subtle differences in their stats.

Garuda is different in appearance than the regular Anubis Wing, he's got black and red armor, a helmet like a Blade Wing, and a mean Fire Bomb on him! and he's got eyes on his shoulder guards!

My guess about Sho's dad:
1. Despite Sho looking up to him, Daddy left Sho and Mommy shortly before the borgs arrived.
2. Sho starts to blame the world around him for Daddy leaving him.
3. Garuda watches Sho for a while after noticing his large GF Energy levels.
4. Sho meets Garuda, who claims that Daddy left to fight Gotcha Borgs because they were his enemies.

me and a friend of mine thought of this about what happened to sho's dad
"that he created the gotcha borgs and made their planet(this is we were like 10 years old so plz dont flame me about this view)then G emporeor went ebil and killed his dad and then destroyed mega borg"
now this was with the assumption that mega borg's time goes faster then earths
