Sho appreciation thread

Yeah, I'm not so sure about the "Sho's father was killed theory" myself. I mean, I haven't done a story playthrough in a while now, but if I remember correctly, doesn't Sho just say "The Gotcha Borgs are the enemy of my father!" or something similarly ambiguous?

Side note. I don't have Garuda, and haven't read his description? Namely, the part about him being "sadistic?" My interpretation of Garuda is a great warrior hungry for a true challenge, which is why he teamed up with Sho: an opportunity to fight strong Borgs. Again, I've never read his in-game description, so that's 100% speculation on my part.

Not trying to defend the guy, though. I found Sho to pretty boring as far as rival characters go...would have liked to see some sort of personal connection between him and Kou to give more depth to their rivalry, outside of the standard "differing ideologies" thing they have going.

I would think that partner borgs are more like exaggerated versions of their base borgs rather than being distinctly different borgs... meaning that Garuda's origins and circumstances are the same as any other Anubis Wing, but he happens to be considerably stronger than most others and is portrayed as a different color to distinguish him as a story-significant character.

Althoooough, considering that every non-G-Red Borg Kou obtains are created by his Gotcha Box using data from defeated borgs, that creates the awkward situation of having multiple Garudas exist at once... And while Sho couldn't conceivably have copied Garuda, being that he had no means of defeating him, it's not completely impossible that Garuda himself was copied at one point or another on Mega Borg, provided Gotcha Boxes actually did that back then.

... Bah, making sense of science-fiction technology is futile anyway.

I assume that there's two types of Borgs, Character Borgs and Cloned Borgs. Defeating a Borg in the wild nets the Gotcha Box its data, and so it starts to create a clone that doesn't have its character or personality or memory at all, but can fight just as well.

Which can be really awesome or really depressing, depending on how optimistic/cynical your worldview is.

died giving birth to Sho, in a car accident, or murdered

both parents had a divorce and the father gained custody of Sho

mommy abandoned both Sho and his father

what do you think?

Sho's mum turned out to actually be a witch, who cast a curse on Sho's father to turn him into Garuda. She blamed it on the other Gotcha Borgs and he believed her because hey, she's his mum.
