I just wanted to hear what other people think about this Borg. Reason being that, wherever I usually look, people seems to dislike this Borg and place him low on an efficiency list.
I can't for the life of me understand this. Not counting big dragons, there is no other Borg that can even remotely pose a threat to Sirius, let alone defeat him. I have gone through this game countless of times and apart from a handful of early playthroughs (before I knew for certain the big dragon's threat potency) I have never lost Sirius in any battle.
For the cost of 1000 (which I think isn't that much) you really can't get a better deal. I can easily smite any Borgs (apart from previous mentions) on any stage using Sirius. Other than a big dragon (whom for the part is much more expensive to use), name one other Borg who can handle such task. It is this fact that made me choose him as my favorite Borg.
So why does so many people seem to dislike him? Is it because he can't move? Well, that's the whole point of fighting with Sirius, you don't have to move. His Beam Gun works wonders with a 360 degree firing range.
Other than the thought of the NTSC version of this game having a glitched version of him, I can't understand why people would put such a magnificent Borg low on a list of usefulness.
In my version, PAL, he is definitely in top spot of being useful. Only Flame Dragon (for having the lowest dragon cost) beats him down in terms of raw power, but certainly no other.
Your thoughts?

Sirius is a good borg for in game play seeing as how the AI doesn't know how to fight one properly. However, I think that most people don't like him because A) Fortresses are mainly defense borgs. Yes they have strong attack, but their main strength is defense. and B) Against a human, Sirius isn't that good, as all the human has to do to win is keep moving and shoot constantly. If the bullets don't hit he's doing it wrong.
Me, I prefer action (lots of movement, meleeing, cool almost-got-hit-but-dodged-at the last-moment moments) over sitting still and wearing down the enemy with a fortress.

Against a human, Sirius isn't that good, as all the human has to do to win is keep moving and shoot constantly. Though I fully agree a human player is capable of putting up a fight way better than any AI, there is no way to be on a constant dodging spree. There's always the little mini-second after a dodge/land and that is enough for Beam Gun hit, and once hit, you will need tons of luck to escape because juggling using the Beam Gun isn't that hard and considering the few amount of hits needed to defeat a medium-sized Borg makes it even more clear that Sirius isn't a low capability Borg. Me, I prefer action (lots of movement, meleeing, cool almost-got-hit-but-dodged-at the last-moment moments) over sitting still and wearing down the enemy with a fortress. You live for the adrenaline. Actually, I think this is the reason people dislike fortress Borgs, and looking this way, you can see it's people preferences rather than actual judging of a Borgs combat skill that disses them. Obviously this is wrong, especially if you go public with a list saying air fortress are bad, which they definitely is not. Hope you get one soon, then you may experience being one great, big Borg.

Sirius is fun to play with, most of the big borgs are fun to play with.
I agree with njayhuang, though I'm more of an action, movement person.

So yesterday, I took Sirius out of my warehouse and put him into my force to try him out again.
It was FUN, but not in the traditional Gotcha Force sense. This borg won't get your blood pumping or send adrenaline through your Gotcha Veins, no, this type of fun is the kind where you have a smug satisfaction knowing that the puny Gotcha Borgs down below pose no threat as you unleash your raw power, Antiaircraft Gun after Antiaircraft Gun, Beam Gun after Beam Gun. At first, you may feel somewhat humbled by the fact that every single shot is hitting you, but you will soon disregard that because no matter what hits, you still won't be close to dying.
...yeah, it was fun, though I was a bit puzzled when, upon finishing a battle, I saw that my dodging ratio was 84.17% (not making this up).

...yeah, it was fun, though I was a bit puzzled when, upon finishing a battle, I saw that my dodging ratio was 84.17% (not making this up). That's because most of the enemy's fire never reaches Sirius before they bit the dust and a lot of Borgs has actually quite horrid long-rang attacks to begin with so they just attack in thin air. Add this fact with Sirius' high HP and defense, and you see why he won't lose.

Not to bring Sirius down or anything, but when I play with a non-boost-jump character like Gold Hero, I'm always moving. In the air, I'm always firing shots. True, I will touch the ground sooner or later, but once I touch the ground, I make a quick dash in the opposite direction in which i am moving, and I take advantage of the lag Sirius has whenever he uses his Beam Gun. When playing as gold hero, I will lose my armor, and have to put it on again. Then Sirius will just wait for me to put on my armor, and blast me. It is true that I will get hit, but I will only need to change into my armor a few times, and the other times, I'm dodging. But playing as Sirius is fun. He's this huge, cool, sleek wall of hurt. Sure opponents will shoot me, but even if I flinch, I can attack. And with this massive amount of HP, he's the kind of wall with spikes on them and move in on you. His firepower is also a force to be reckoned with. While I'm playing, I can just imagine the tiny opposing borgs going POP whenever I incinerate them with the Beam Gun ;D Sirius is a cool borg.

Sirius is one of my favorite Borgs. I know what you mean when you say people slag Sirius off. I get it all the time. It's because i use Sirius a lot that people hate Sirius.

In the words of the official site: "Using Sirius:
フォートレスボーグは圧倒的な火力と耐久力が特徴だ。 FOTORESUBOGU overwhelming firepower, and is characterized by resilience. ターゲットを切り替えながら「 対空砲 」「 ビーム砲 」を絶え間なく撃ちつづければ、それだけで大きな戦果が期待できる。 While switching targets "air gun" "beam gun" to shoot TSUDZUKERE incessantly, it can only expect a big戦果. 「 全門発射 」はすさまじい威力だが、残弾を使いきってしまうので、バーストと併用すると良いだろう。 "All the gate firing," the tremendous power, but the cut would use the remaining ammunition, combined with a good burst. ナースボーグと協力すれば、まさしく不沈艦となる。 NASUBOGU and cooperation would be very sinkless ship.
