What the heck is a netflix? You're simultaneously reminding me of Jontron and Castlevania. Oh, so horray, Berserk finally went on sale. I'll be watching that soon, but I got to stop buying so much anime... actually, no I don't. I nearly have a full row of anime on my shelf, so I'd love to display my collection soon. I don't think my camera is the best thing ever, though.

I don't think my camera is the best thing ever, though. My father acts the same way. He has at least 900 DVDs in our basement (and about 90% of that is cartoons and Doctor Who.) and at times will say he has too much, then decide otherwise. Also that is a JonTron quirk, isn't it? Huh. I'm a JonTron.

I'm watching a video of the Creative Director for Dcuo playing in survival mode with an awesome league. It's a two hour video.

Tokyo Ghoul. Great opening theme along with interesting plot I've got blog posts on the first two episodes of Tokyo Ghoul, if you're interested in checking out the link in my signature. And I agree. Tokyo Ghoul has been pretty good.

I've been watching Berserk, I've been meaning to and a while ago the DVD collection was on sale.
It's very old (1997) and violent, but it's a very addicting, moody character piece that I really enjoy. One of the best pure fantasy shows that I've seen in a very long time, and it's been ages since I was last able to marathon five episodes of an anime in a row (I think Shiki was the last one to compel me to do that.)
Anyway, the opening is... very different to most shows. It sounds unmelodius and amateurish, but it has a real passion that I enjoy. It's as broken as Guts is as a character.

Summer Wars, an Anime...movie...thing. It was really cool and really bad at the same time and my suspension of disbelief flew right out the window about 15 minutes in because THE PLOTHOLES! SO MUCH PLOTHOLE! That aside, this avatar is really cool. Might use it as my new avatar placeholder while I actually draw up one. EDIT: WHOALY CRAP THAT IMAGE WAS WAY TOO BIG. Put it in spoiler tags.

Summer Wars was a good film, I remember watching it with my pal on blu ray... good times, though not scientifically accurate. It's grounded optimism and energy was infectious, though. Reminds me that I need to watch Wolf Children.
Aaand the Girl Who Leapt through time, a movie the director did before Summer Wars, was an absolute masterpiece.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, it's just that...am I really supposed to believe you can do a fighting game with the depth of OZ's arena even on a keyboard, let alone a PHONE? Oh, also I thought it was funny how they settled the fate of the world with a card game (on motorcycles!)

Guys, if this sounds like it's up your alley, you should probably be watching SAO season 2.
"You don't know my name... that's why you can't remember it."
Yes, it's THAT bad it's good. Very few anime can claim to have such amazing comedic writing.

I'm certainly entertained by the show, but I don't think it's anywhere close to good. The only real compliment I can give it is that a lot of the nasty stuff from the first season is gone- the rape and villain torture and misogyny, etc. This season is only about as misogynist as most anime ie still pretty sexist. Everything else though is comedy gold at this point, I can't wait to review it when the arc ends. Ever want to see Darth Vader and a darkly dressed Jedi acrobat just standing in dynamic poses in a desert, monologuing dramatically to each other about about item crafting? This is the show for you.

RUN! IT'S THE APOCALYPSE! SAO JUST HAD A SURPRISINGLY DECENT EPISODE! THE DAY OF RECKNONING IS UPON US! RIVERS WILL RUN RED, MOE BLOBS WILL BLOW UP BUILDINGS! IT'LL RAIN ELUCIDATORS! KIRITO WILL TURN UP IN SMASH! (OK THAT WAS A HORRIBLE MENTAL IMAGE I APOLOGISE) AAAAAAAGH!In other news, Wixoss is perhaps even worse than it always was. It's like an airplane flew into a trainwreck. Pile some cars and boats on that wreck as well, then burn it all with Kokonoe's astral heat. Yeaaaah...

Anyone seen that? No, of course not, why would any of us have seen the most popular recent anime out there? Heck, even people who don't watch anime watch Attack on Titan. ...That being said, I actually haven't seen it, so my point is moot. I know Al has, however, and he didn't like it. :color:ful:
