For the first time in three weeks, Gotcha Force. FINALLY got my Dolphin Emulator running and figured out how to get my 1st party gamecube adapter to run, so I'm playing in a crisp 60 FPS on my computer with an actual gamecube controller. Feels good.

Yeeeeeeeeee! Oh yeah, I finished my Machine Borg run last month. Kind of reluctant it's over, 'cause now I have to move on to another unfamiliar tribe ... Titan Robot is a lovely borg Goin through Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, as well as Little Battlers Experience. Enjoying both very much.

The Plague of Shadows DLC for Shovel Knight came out today and I've been enjoying it much more than the base game. I was expecting the gameplay to be different, to change according to Plague Knight's unique skill-set, but I wasn't expecting the story and dialogue to be as enjoyable as it is. It really sells the idea that you're a villain, getting kicked out of town and having to use an underground lair, and having to take over new towns and such as you sneak around in the background, watching Shovel Knight go about his own business obliviously.
The gameplay is also so much better! I love moving around as Plague Knight. I love how customisable his skill set is, there's so many different ways to play and you usually have to switch your bomb set up in order to deal with each situation. I find the upgrades to be far better than the main game, and I'm actually afraid to loose cash now since every upgrade is more expensive and there are more upgrades overall, all of which are enticing and useful in their own way.
Not so sure about the healing tonics though, which raise your Max HP by 1 until your next death. Before boss fights, you naturally drink a bunch of tonics so that you can survive more hits, but that health bonus is lost if you lose, and as far as I know there's no way to grind tonics in an actual level. It does force you to be more careful and conservative with your use of tonics, but I just know there's going to come a time when not having enough tonics to retry a boss fight is really going to screw me over, then again, I already beat Spectre Knight, who in the original was the hardest boss in the game for me, so maybe I'm getting worried over nothing. There's also a life-stealing power-up which you can use to heal yourself mid-battle, and since your mana automatically recharges, you have much more freedom to use your relics.

I like the idea of heath tonics as you could actually not use them the first couple times and once you think you have a boss's pattern down use them to give you more breathing room. It's a cool idea. Al evil confirmed Yeah, I see where you're coming from there. It forces you to play smarter, and to be more afraid of death. The way it limits your resources makes you more afraid of failure, which feels like a very Dark Souls thing to do, along with other touches like how you lose your cash upon death, I've beaten Plague Knight's campaign now and I still think it was really good. However, I did end up using all of my health tonics in the third Black Knight fight, which made that one incredibly difficult. It did force me to learn his patterns and such, but honestly, without the life stealing potion, I would probably have had to redo that entire stage. I knew I wasn't worried for nothing. PKxMona OTP.

I usually spend about 100 hours on my first playthrough of a Persona game.

I just finished The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, which was pretty good. One of those few games where I can say that the graphics, and the overall mood, was the best part of the experience. I'm about to start playing The Binding of Isaac, because I need a game to occupy vast amounts of my time so I stop spending so much money on things to temporarily satiate my crippling existential loneliness and boredom.

TboI: Rebirth is totally worth it btw.

So I've been having a lot of fun with The Binding of Isaac, although I'm taking a break because taking the time to unlock it lives is a bit of a grind. The problem with the game is is that I'll either fail before I get to Mom's heart, or end up so stupidly overpowered that I can keep going to Satan and kill him without a sweat. There's no middle ground, I either find the game too hard or too easy based on the powerups I get. I notice that in my OP runs, I tend to end up with an army of infinitely respawning blue flies that kill everything immediately. Still fun though.
I mainly want to talk about an RPG I saw Jim Sterling recommend called Undertale. It was cheap, so I brought it off Steam, and it's a really special game you guys, it's another one of those games that has roots in an Earthbound influence. The battle system is barely even a standard turn-based system though, despite being presented as such it's more of a cross between a bullet hell and a series of small dialogue-tree puzzles, and the boss fight I just got done with pretty much changed one of those genres into something completely different. It tracks a ton of your choices, it's really funny, you can choose to date a Skeleton, there's a really sad bit at the beginning... it's a fantastic game, and I'm only an hour or so in.

P3P gonna solo floors 2-100 to get some lvls so my estimation of 36hrs (which i based on P4G) is a bit of. im on 30, in 9/27 still havnt rescued the 3 in there as i strugle against the shadows of block 4, im lvl 34 and thier dynes just wipe out 1/3 of my teams HP in one hit the musha guys sword charge insta - kill (in terms of damage, not effect). so i gotta train hard and reconsider if jack frosts bufu is gonna get me anywhere, part from a coffin...

Ok... omg... Undertale, an incredibly cheap game recently released on Steam, is fantastic.
All of you need to get this game in front of your eyeballs immediately. This game is going in the history books alongside Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and any of the early Final Fantasy titles, and I feel it surpasses them. This is a true masterpiece of gaming.
You will not be prepared. But stay determined!
