I've had this, among others, as a potential tribe/type for GF 2. - They'll look humanoid (Conan/Barbarian)
- Wield massive broadswords/axes etc
- Strong attack strength
- Fairly decent defense
- Very little to no staggering so they'll always be able to attack no matter what
- Slow and sluggish to control
Would this be a good Borg type?

I think, so, your talking about something like a viking, sounds good.
Maybe if they didnt had a lot of hp, and no range attacks, maybe they could have an attack self-buff or an attack that would make them go rampage.
or they could be kinda like akuma samurai, the more they hit the stronger they get.

Sounds cool. I like the way you gave us a link so we'd know what an AXE was

i think the closest thing to berserkers in the game are machines and samurai.
traditionally this type of character would have high health, high defense, moderate projectile and extremely high attack, high speed.
the trade off for good stats is to have a trait that is inherently bad in the game. in gotcha force, the game is ruled by fast (usually flying) projectile users, so being a melee oriented borg is already a bad trait so little balancing is needed. say if the character is overpowered in testing, you could limit his projectile with slow reload time/ limited distance/ limited speed. this way, even if the berserker is king of melee, other melee orientated borgs could fight with their mobility or projectiles.
that brings me to another thing. i think it would be interesting to add a special mechanic to this class that makes it stand out from other classes. notice how i said they should have a high speed? slow speed in a melee/close range character is a fundamentally bad choice. i like the idea of having the berserkers ground speed high, but limit their effectiveness in the air. metal hero is particularly dominant in melee when he gets in range, but its hard for him to do so since his air attacks are terrible, he has not projectile to stagger enemies with and his ground speed is lame, although he has a long dash. if you give the beserker a good ground speed, you keep him in line with the barbarian type, but if you limit his effectiveness in the air, you give other borgs a way to effectively fight him, so they are not simply slaughtered when he gets close.
he will be countered by flying borgs, or any borg that can stay in the air and stay mobile long enough to kite the berserker to death. he shouldnt be balanced around fighting these borgs, they should be a hard counter for him. this isnt an almighty type.
he shouldnt have a slow melee. a melee borg with a slow melee wont hit anything and will get nickled and dimed to death.
he should have something to fight samurais x special. when im playing any other melee borg, if i dont have something to beat samurais special, hell beat me. i realized this when using chainsaw knight. even with my super armour and awesome damage, x special does half health easily. i dont want to make samurai obsolete while fighting a berserker, but they should rely on range and mobility, not a devastating melee. im thinking let the beserker counter attack while still being hit? it would prevent getting bumrushed like that.

On Warcraft II, Beserkers move quite fast, lob axes better then Gordan Ramsay and they slowly regenerate health if they are injured.
That would be a great borg!! ;D

The battle system is set up against melee borgs, so pretty much any melee oriented borg won't do well. Super Armor won't do much in a game where projectiles and speed are supreme, but it would give him a slight advantage over other melee borgs.

axe is a broad term. anything from a polearm, fire axe francesca, roofing axe, bardiche, tomahawk, etc can be called an axe. even a pickaxe can be called an axe at work.

Yeah, my supposedly good English skills left me when I made this threads so I simply stated axe when a rightful term was actually needed. My apologies. Lets scrap this weapon and just leave it to giant broadsword types for now.

T'was a joke. This would be a pretty cool borg in reality although I have a feeling that most of them would end up resembling Beam Samurai

^Yup, I guess barbarians could be for a few but could you imagine how awesome a Cyber Barbarian would be, I don't really have alot of ideas for it but one could be that in some of it's normal attacks it could create shockwaves, like Metal Hero does during his combos.

My version of Beserkers is of a 32 bit green man that throws 1 axe every 2 seconds XD
Oh and it says "You call me" You da boss!"
