It's clearly a "B" that marks these Borgs and that surely stands for Black. So what's the deal with shadow? What if we called silver "metal" or gold "yellow"?  |

English probably just dubbed it shadow to sound cooler but didn't change any graphics.

imagine if i hadnt been drunk www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mkuF90uZ0ci had this really cool hardcore techno demoman one too but its been deleted. im a tf2 nut, lol. what do you mean true definition? does it say black or shadow anywhere in game? or is it just b and the community just says shadow? i think ive always said black because for the longest time i thought g black was just a rare g red. |

When you check a Borg's stats ( X button) there's a letter in the top left corner along with the Borg's ID number. A = Alternate C = Crystal or Clear S = Silver G = Gold B = Black The same can be seen in Data Crystals. Shadow and Crystal are the community adapted words for them. |

^ None of the words are ever mentioned apart from that one letter, and considering how the different Borgs look like, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what they stand for. |
