There's a definite pattern to which borgs do and do not have alts. It follows these rules:
- All Borgs that have a "Character Borg" variant have an alternate color.
- No Borgs the can combine with other Borgs have an alternate color.
And, here's the fun one...
- In the case of a "Set" of Borgs (Borgs that share the same basic model and animations), only one Borg in the set will have an alternate color.
* This is easy to observe with Knight Borgs, which almost always come in pairs- Only one member of every pair has an alternate color. Additionally easy to observe in Proto-Machine pairs: The Proto form never has an alt, while the non-Proto form always does (excluding the Mars/Red/Blue/Atlas sets, which fall under the 'combining borgs never have alts' rule, and Victory Duke/Baron, who are part of the Victory King set).
- Borgs with no "set" usually have alts, but may not. I'm still looking into this.
I'll draw up the list of "sets" and post it when I'm finished.

im pretty sure copy man doesnt have an alt I'm here to tell you, he does, I HAVE ONE. I HAVE ALL FORMS OF COPY MAN. As for the Character Borgs and Neo G Red, they do not have alt forms. G red does, not Neo. Spinner girl has an alt. So does Cyber Ninja. Dark Knight does not. All other borgs have alt forms, and ALL borgs(including partners)Have a Gold, Silver, Shadow, and crystal form. Both of these are also lies. I dont know about Mech Red, etc, but both Death Head and Cyber Dragon have alt forms. I have a crystal for both, and have seen it in battle once before. All Character borgs, besides G Red(Death wing=not a char borg) Do not have an alt. EDIT: Re-read the quote, i take back the part about Char borg VARIANTS, i thought it just said char borgs. It's odd how some Brgs don't have alts. Also if I'm playing against and actual character in the game( ie kakeru sho) I never see their borgs alternate. Once I leveled a Borg from lv4 to lv7 doing one mission to find a rare color for that Borg and I didn't even find an alternate. And I know the Borg has an alternate, because I have it's alternate. The Borg was jet hero btw Finally, about this, The first borgs in a match(probably the battles you're doing have char borg as 1st borg out) Are ALWAYS NORMAL FORM. Ok, i think i'm done. I think Sirius' alternate was a different colored ring, but I can't say for certain. Yes, this is correct. I also have a alt Sirius. By the way, G Black Has no Alt color. Admin, you may have never seen one, but I am here to tell you there is an alt Death ICBM Cyber hero and maybe metal hero. that green ghost knight thing. Teleport ninja and switching ninja. I'm fairly sure megaton robot doesn't have a alt. Machine red/blue and cyber mars/atlas and their proto versions don't have alts as far as i know. I've never seen a tar diver alternate. I'll check these later to see if i'm right. I'm going to verify this now. Cyber hero does, ghost knight does, Megaton Robot does, Teleport Ninja does, i'm unsure about Switching Ninja, and all Machine Red/Blue/Mars/Atlas do not. |

Dude, I do my research. ;D And where do you do this research? Because I want to see for myself that these things exist, so I don't end up on a wild goose chase when I inevitably hunt for them. And are you SURE there's an alt Death ICBM? I've fought several thousand of them and never seen one. EVER. And Admin's probably fought several HUNDRED thousand and also never seen one. EVER. Seems a bit improbable. Good. ARs destroy Gotcha Force's replay value. I would only use an AR for research (as I believe I mentioned earlier in this topic) and a few brief, ineffectual, non-saved moments of "Haha, Death Eye of Death just killed the Emperor with the Ultimate Beam." |

If the Cyber Dragon set does indeed have an alt, I'll accept that that was wrong, though if there isn't a rule against combining borgs and their variants having alts I don't fully understand why the Red, Blue, Mars, and Atlas sets are alt-less...
However, I beg to differ about Spinner Girl, Cyber Hero, and Ghost Knight.
Spinner Girl is absolutely altless. I'll be happy as hell if you can prove me wrong, but I'm 90% sure she doesn't have one.
Ghost Knight, likewise, is Altless, being part of the Elemental Knight set. Elemental Knight has an alt, therefore Ghost Knight cannot- you'll notice this is true of every single Knight Borg- All but two come in pairs (those two are independent and have alts) and within those pairs one member always has an alt, and one member is always alt-less.
Cyber Hero and Megaton Robot... I don't believe that they have alts, but again, I could be wrong. Screenshot would be lovely.

Death ICBM does not have an alternate.
I dare say I've beaten well over a million of 'em and I've never witnessed a single alternate.
If they do exist, they sure don't spawn like regular alternates does, but I bet all my Borgs they don't exist.

spinner girl and cyber hero do have alts. Spinner girl has one color changed and it isnt major. I am pretty sure that cyber hero is blue in the alt.

I think that we can conclude that all borgs have alts, except character borgs, G Black, and apparently some of the machine series.
All borgs have rare forms, although some are only obtainable with glitches and cheats due to extreem rarity (G black and G emperor spring to mind).
the reason why some borgs dont seem to have alts is because, as beam gunner said, the first borgs to spawn in battle are always normal, so borgs like cyber hero wont have the opportunity to show of their alt form as often as other borgs do.

You know, this is exactly why I recommended a few months ago that someone get an AR or the ability to use the codes in an emulator or something, so we would know for sure about all these things...

... but then I looked it up, and they don't have AR codes for that.
I think I should get to work on compiling a list of what does have an alt, since that's a lot easier to verify than what doesn't.
Then I think I should post it (with pictures for indisputability) in... maybe the Game Help section for no apparent reason?

^Are you sure you're not thinking of Star Hero? Because I did that fight at least 50 times (and I'm pretty sure that's an extreme understatement) trying to get an alt Star Hero, but never saw an alt Planet Hero.
If you could provide evidence, that would be great.

Only 3 appear in the game, and they're all at the beginning of the level.
