Anyone playing this? I'm totally hooked on this game. Best one in the Atelier series by far and the protagonist Ryza is my new all-time favorite character. I don't care if I come across as a Jiraya. I'm absolutely in love with her. <3

It looks pretty nice. Turn-based RPGs aren't my biggest priority, but I really do want to play this one because the artstyle is so beautiful and the game seems full of adventurous personality. It'll have to wait a long time though, probably, these last few months have been piling on way too many games I'm behind on getting.

Combat is fully active so battles feels fast and smooth all the time. It's a little overwhelming in the beginning but once you get a few skills and abilities you want to bump into monsters because battles are so fun.

Oh, wow, the trailers really didn't do much to show what the combat system is really like. It looks very fast-paced and active for a turn based style. I'm more interested now, but I think I'll still end up waiting until I can buy an used copy much cheaper.

Been playing the last few days. It's about what I expected. Or I should say hoped for. Beautiful game with a huge sense of adventure, and the music is just absolutely captivating.
The alchemy is a fun way to spend time coming up with plans, and I love how that's what affects your combat capability the most, it feels like you have all the input for your capabilities and strength, while grinding and leveling up only gives negligible boosts. Pretty simple combat system, but it's very fast-paced and strangely satisfying. Feels almost too short-lived so far, though.
But I'm a bit wary that it's easy to overpower the game. A miniboss was one-shotting my party, then I went to the lab and did some alchemy for a while to come up with much better gear and items, and I won fairly easily... That was satisfying for sure, but since then I've beaten every story battle and two more minibosses without even trying. And I'm on Hard. I know it's early on, but I just hope the difficulty does continue to spike more, because I loved that feeling of gathering so much random stuff and creating a set of new gear that got me past what seemed an impossible wall, and even normal mobs that were putting in quite the hurt, and items that tipped the scales.
In the end though, I can always look forward to the higher difficulties once I finish the game, if I really want to go back and challenge the combat system. It's great enough right now to just enjoy the world, music, and characters. Also the photo mode.
