Alright so with the recent explosion of new players from the open beta (myself included), team Blizzard looks like they have another success on their hands! I literally ran into Overwatch last week with an Overwatch challenge on Deviantart, and after I saw the trailers I got super hype over the story and characters. After getting to play it, honestly I got hooked. For those of you who have no idea what I'm walking about, here are the aforementioned trailers, with new trailers coming out soon before launch:
I really like the freedom of movement and the character diversity. Kinda brings me back to the days when I first started playing GF with the cool, shiny characters and fun atmosphere. Also I can't be the only one who thinks Tracer was inspired by Command Girl Can't wait for this game to launch on the 24th. What do you all think?

Tracer feels more like Wire Girl IMO.
I like it a lot, one of the big reasons i didn't like TF2 much when actually playing it was because i couldn't hit anything cause of how the game moved and felt and Overwatch doesn't have that problem for me. Only thing that really annoys me is Turret Dwarf's turrets being so fast to lock on. Feels really well balanced so far.

Torj and Bastion probably need nerfs, perhaps to their range so that heroes like Pharah see more use. I remember her being useless when I tried to use her against them, because they hit me the moment I got into range and couldn't fire the rockets fast enough.
Other than that, this game is really fun. I think I just like being able to play roles that aren't strictly like Soldier 76's very traditional COD/Halo like playstyle. I'll probably pick it up when it gets cheaper, since a lot of the origins edition's goodies don't appeal to me. Pretty much only the Hearthstone card back interests me, and Origins is unfortunately the only version you can buy for consoles for some strange reason. I also want to see what the post release content will be like. Hoping for exciting new game modes and heroes and such.
This game didn't remind me of Gotcha Force in the slightest. I mean they're both colourful and have gunplay, I guess, but whatever.

Tracer only reminds me of Command Girl from how she looks. Her recall ability does remind me of Wire Girl for sure, though Hanzo, Widowmaker, and Junkrat are supposedly the main counters to Bastion and Torbjorn. You just hide behind walls and snipe down the turrets while your allies distract them. A good Genji can take them down too. Genji for me is my favorite to use. I love his double jump and wall climbing. Deflect is the most fun defensive maneuver to pull off as well. I feel so cool as I go through enemies one by one. I really need to get better at aiming though.

I think Torbjorn is fine, his turret is his whole gameplay, so it has to be a strong gimmick, and it's simple for many characters to take out.
Bastion is considered among the lowest tier... poor guy doesn't need nerfs. He's a pubstomper, but once you get how to work around him, his turret mode mostly just makes him an easy target. Pharah is one of his best counters due to how Armor works in the game, and being able to contest his range with burst. Genji's reflect is a pretty hard counter too.
I miss the game, but I feel the price is a bit high right now for what feels like an early MMO. I'd get it if the next three months weren't filled with big game releases. I'll be following the game though, really interested in its action-strategy-shooter feel.
I also like the little details with character interaction. Sometimes they'll have specific mini-conversations, and there's all the gameplay dialogue, from spotting a sniper, proclaiming to get on a point with you, to your character calling out "look out behind you" if you're looking at an enemy coming behind your ally. Really makes things smooth without needing voice chat, and giving characters... character, that makes you feel like you're really playing characters on a team.
I'm a D.va player, and I love how she's such a versatile tank, which is my favorite role. Before the beta ended, I found out her boost shoves and slightly damages enemies. This led to huge success when I balanced it with melee, guns, shield, and boosting away, to harass and spearhead for the team. Still, it takes three seconds of shooting her shotgun point blank to take out Widowmaker... but she's really fun, and is great as a character too.
Besides her, I played Pharah. Partly because of her refined justice character, and because she's the only other character that can really fly... and because missiles. She's simple but effective, and can do some crazy stuff with bouncing off her own bounce-shots. I feel she's underrated. So much burst damage, and the ability to flank from anywhere, throw rockets that are effective at any range, clear enemies huddling, bypass Reinhardt's shield... she's so crazy versatile, and doesn't have any real hard counters (besides herself). And... "justice rains from above" does just that. Justice everywhere.

This was pretty cool.
Well, it just makes me dislike Hanzo more, but Genji is pretty great.

Man that was hype! I really like the relationship between Genji and Hanzo. Hope Hanzo joins Overwatch as the story progresses Also I now know why Hanamura has arrows and shuriken in strange places around the house. I love the attention to detail and continuity Blizzard puts into this game

I got on the day it came out, but I haven't played since. Still really fun, and I'm glad I remember how to stomp noob Bastions with Genji Kinda bummed that they didn't reveal any new heroes like Sombra, but I'm excited for the future of this game Also Birst needs to be a thing. EDIT: my Bnet tag is frozn #11731. Let's play when we have the chance!

Hmm? So... both UFF and GFF are playing this now... *checks cost on PC* Augh... $60 bucks? I could've bought Borderlands 2: GotY Edition at full price for less. Unless it's on Steam, and they have a massive sale, I'll stay well away from spending my money on this game.

You sure you weren't checking the console version prices? Should be $40 on PC.
I miss this game, but there's just too much coming out in these next two months...

Hmmm... Even still... $40 with no hope of a Steam sale discount...
The chances of me getting this are slim.

You were looking at 'Origins Edition' which is what they most heavily advertise, and what you're shown by default. It shouldn't take you long to find the regular edition on their website.
Oh and yeah, Origins edition is mostly worthless since it's simply an edition which gives you a bunch of in game skins and other cosmetic items for other Blizzard games. Nothing that's actually worth the extra money, unless you play a ton of Blizzard games. Unfortunately, Origins is the only version available on consoles. I'm not paying what they're asking for this game.
