5/10. Bad projectile, poor bulk for a 450 cost knight, and his shield is too small.

Looking back, I was way too nice to this thing! It's godawful and I had (and have) nothing good to say about it. 3/10.

Weird. Hammer Knight has always been one of my go-tos when playing a little more seriously. Once in range, that shot attack is really good. The shield may not be that great, but the thing is, it's essentially throwing a big ball of a shield constantly, which really hurts and can be near unavoidable up close.
I never quite got the X attack though, that move is a joke. But I guess it might be useful as a reversal of sorts against fast melee borgs trying to rush you.
A bit cost heavy and frail, but surprising survivability and nice offensive. I've even done missions like fighting all the hero borgs, with just Hammer Knight. It also has interesting rain of pain. Not much range, but it can glide around for long times.
I gave it a 7 back then, and I still almost agreed, but I'll drop it a point because the lack of range makes it moot against many flying matchups. Although even then it has a chance if it can take off from high ground.
Always been one of my favorites, and I felt Spike Knight is worse...

X attack will chase flying borgs im pretty sure, and it can be mashed to extend it's duration. B attack is decent damage wise, but range sucks and its easy to dodge. The shield size is a moot point since it will block anything that would hit in the direction its facing. Etc.
However spike knight does all that and more, so hammer gets a 4/10z

I will at least agree that the shot attack is pretty good when people aren't camping you out and that Spike Knight is even worse (though I like his design more.) but the problem is that in this game pretty much every borg wants to camp you out.

Used him in challenge mode pretty recently and I still stand by my original rating of 6/10.
Average movement, mere existence of a shield is great defense by Gotcha Force standards, X sucks so don't use it, B attack is eh but at least it's not melee.
He has no chance against fast ranged borgs of course, but against everything else he should be able to hold his own defensively and occasionally get some hits in with a semiranged attack.
Fun factor is definitely like a 2/10 though. I quickly regretted putting him at the beginning of my team.
Spike Knight isn't worth the cost increase imo, but I'll wait for the Spike Knight thread.
