You don't like discs? Oh boy...
Well, whatever. From what I understand, if Nintendo aren't using discs, then they're going full digital. I don't like the idea of that. I feel as though I have more ownership of the game if I have the physical copy, although I do buy more digital games than I used to.
Oh, and situations like PT may happen again in the future. Konami tried to wipe that game from existence, and that's a really scary thought.

New game medium/technology. As a game medium, I've hated it since day 1, not only how it works but also from an aesthetically point of view. Discs are just horrible functioned from continuously, repeated use ( constantly changing games in console) unlike previous mediums such cassettes, tapes and cartridges. We've been forced to use discs for more than 20 years now, so it's really overdue for something new, heck I'll even accept digital only, but I'm certain we're going to get something physical.

I'm still not sure what your issue is, unless you mean that you don't like how fragile discs are? I mean sure that's an issue, I've had discs break on me before, but I've had older physical media just as easily break on me as well. Then again, I wasn't alive for long enough back when cartridges were still used, so I only use DS/3DS cartridges nowadays.
The problem with your theory is that Nintendo had issues in the past with the N64 and gamecube, as they made cartridges and discs that no one else used at the time (no one else has ever used gamecube sized discs) rather than switching to a standardized disc. Unless I'm wrong, this made it more of a hassle to print copies and it also put off third party developers, something which the Wii U has also been struggling with. I doubt that Nintendo want to make the same mistake two systems in a row, (although the Wii U uses blu-ray discs, they put off third party developers because of the gamepad) after all, the NX was only announced because the Wii U was a commercial failure to begin with.
I don't see why Nintendo would want to invent a new physical storage system when that would make them more of a hassle/expensive to print, and when digital is becoming more popular anyway. Unless the NX uses some kind of modified USB, I think the NX will be digital only if there's no discs, and personally I don't like the idea of digital only.
The NX seems weird anyway. Again, unless I'm wrong, apparently the NX isn't meant to be a replacement for either the Wii U or 3DS, so it is likely to be a different kind of games console entirely. I have no idea what to expect from this thing. Maybe it would be cool if it allowed you to back up digital only games onto physical storage? I would have no issues with that.

Huh, interesting. Not sure how I feel about this The article gave the impression of a digital-only type of system, which IMO is convenient 'cause you don't have to switch discs and stuff. At the same time being limited by the amount SD cards or other memory cards can hold can be a hassle. Sooo ... I don't know

New game medium/technology. What new gaming medium/technology? If you can think of anything other than all-digital I'll hear you out, but as someone who despises an all-digital route I'd like to hear why it's better than having both avaliable. Discs get scratched...if you don't take care of them. The fact that disks break or fail to read when not cared for is a minor inconvenience compared to the perks of physical media and a disk's thinness makes them easy to store. Besides, Nintendo's late switch to disks is the reason we lost Square Enix for over a decade and the reason the playstation exists.

Looking back at this topic, now with the knowledge of the cartridges the Switch uses, what's the verdict? Me, I LOVE the catridges. Have mine in a collection case for easy access. Looks great for collection purposes. - Admin
