First off, hi. I'm Steve. Second, this should be in the borg discussion section. I'm sure a mod will move it over time. Third, I can DEFINITELY see why you'd say that. Nice find. (Let's get the obligatory "Cyber Hero is Ryu" thing out of the way now.)

Thread moved. Thanks, Steve. Welcome to GFF, ultima! Be careful of the flying space Nutella. Have fun and hope you decide to stick around ^^ Dat V on the chest doe Seeing as a lot of the Hero borgs look like Power Rangers as well ... *runs away forming a conspiracy theory* >:3

Thanks. Didn't know where to post this. Anyway, beyond the fact that he looks the part, that robot apparently also splits into a tank and a jet! I think this is slightly more than a coincidence. I wonder what G Red is based off of...

Has anyone else found any other pics of toys that are similar to any of the Borgs? Or of any mechs/characters that are similar in design?

Got a match. A little bit less obvious, but still a bit of a match, Kamen Rider Ryuki and Flame Ninja.

Cyber Mars is a bit like Combattler V, maybe. I don't think G-Red is actually inspired by anything.

Lol, Cyber Mars is inspired by Combattler V, and G Red is inspired by Cyber Mars. Seriously, look at their models.

Not really seeing G-Red and Cyber Mars honestly, aside from the colors and their face. And the face isn't very unique either, just looks like every Transformer face ever. I just have no idea what G-Red could be compared to. Its design is actually one of a kind. Though normal G-Red's X attack is pretty much Shining Gundam's Shining Finger... And its chest beam has Mazinger origins I think, maybe even earlier than that. But I can't think of any mecha that actually seems similar in design, or uses a katana, at that. puu.sh/eqol3/a336d3278f.pngReally, you don't think it's even remotely close? They're not supposed to be clones, but even the color separations are nearly identical...

Don't worry Claxus, I see the resemblance. It's minute, but the similarities are there.

Aw, crap, I goofed. I was thinking of Machine Red when I said Cyber Mars. Seriously, look at G Red and Machine Red. They're practically brothers!

Barrier Girl is a female Megaman X. She's blue, has a buster, can fire small shots in 3 round bursts, and can charge her shots. And that barrier? Is actually the charged version of the Rolling Shield from X1's Armored Armadillo stage.

Im almost positive metal hero is from space sherriff galvan. (Idr the exact name.) one of the numerous heros in the "metal heros" line of tv shows that premiered in the 80s-90s and got adapted in us as beetleborgs and vr troopers. Gold hero technically comes from the same place, but he is more original. Planet and star heros are inspired by ultraman.

Wow, I didn't know about BG's alt! You're right. It's totally shotgun ice colored. Now, if only she could use shotgun ice!

Maybe a different version of her that can use SI instead of the barrier.
