Well, there is. . .
New Little King's Story! (This game was fun on the Wii. The PS Vita release un-chibi-fies everyone, adds a fair bit such as making the King get a strong special attack and giving various special abilities to your subordinates, oh, and the ending isn't so depressing.)
Shin Gundam Musou (For reference, that reads as "New Gundam Warriors," but I'm betting they'll localize it as "New Dynasty Warriors Gundam." Came out this December 19th. In Japan. Also for PS3.)
The Binding of Isaac (That is, if you don't have the PC or another version. Tears on the go.)
Disgaea 3:Abscence of Detention and Disgaea 4:Return (Portable re-releases of Disgaea 3:Abscence of Detention and Disgaea 4:A Promise Unforgotten. Generally, the re-releases are straight. . . "upgrades" from the original.)
Knytt Underground (The commercial sequel to Knytt and Knytte Stories. Metroidvania, storytelling, etc.)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance HD and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance HD (What else but HD re-releases of MGS 2 and 3's own enhanced re-releases.)
Mighty No. 9 (Is coming eventually.)
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (. . . admittedly, I haven't actually played a R&C game since Deadlocked, but having the first four counts for something, right?)
Spelunky (Again, it's had many releases like The Binding of Isaac, no real reason to buy a game twice. Unless portability is that valuable.)
There are certainly a few games on the Vita that I won't recommend when I know so little about them, so take a look for yourself when you get the chance. Explore the world~!

I guess Gravity Rush is one that goes without saying, but... Gravity Rush.
Ragnarok Odyssey ACE looks like a really great action RPG with online. Make sure you check ACE, not the first release.
And Malicious Rebirth looks like an amazing beat'em up game.

I cannot take that post seriously given your avatar, the site we're on, and the fact that most people here also love of pokemon. Target age range is meaningless.

I felt it was a bit childish of a game but that's me

Erstwhile, I have no idea because I pulled my list of Tvtropes.
I wonder if it would have even been worthwhile to get a Vita over the break. . .

Well i think it was the scripting that made Tearaway seam like a child game. But its possibly me.
And i cannot coment on Pokémon as i never played any of its games, but i do use Pikachu on ssbb.

But you play a "childish" game. Why would "childish games" bother you if you joined a site about one out of love of it?
