In answer to your question though...
I think the Death Borgs are really well designed, and I don't just mean aesthetically.
They put enough lasers onscreen that they're more than an annoyance. All those lasers can kick you around and chip down your health while you're busy fighting the more dangerous borgs. And they're just brittle enough that "Can I turn my back on the enemy borgs to take them out?" is a legitimate question. And, of course, if you take some out there's the chance more will spawn in afterwards (or maybe non-Death Borgs will). So there's no ready right answer when fighting them. It keeps matches interesting.
I like that they aren't just useless fodder. They've struck a very nice balance, which is also impressive considering the variety of Death Borgs.
