I don't think we have one of these. So the Dangan Ronpa 2 lets play thread was updated today and Ibuki did something that I wasn't expecting. Let my feelings reach you- By Ibuki MiodaI think Souda has the right reaction. lpix.org/1509739/040-sd.png(Apologies to fans of death metal and this song in particular, but this just sends horrifying shivers down my spine. Especially since this was played at an otherwise heartwarming get well party.) So what music genres disturb or scare you? Got any disturbing music tracks that you are you willing to share?

Disturbing? nothing, really. Music I dislike? Modern Pop, and rap.

Pop music will be the death of me. I despise it greatly. I like metal, death metal, heavy metal. I greatly dislike black metal. As you all may know, I am a Christian.
I do hate most music by modern rappers. I do like Eminem, Deuce, Truth, Foreign Beggars, Mike Shinoda, Fort Minor, and Jay-Z( only because he helped Mike Shinoda get his start)
I absolutely hate Drake and his young money bullshit.
Maybe this thread should be changed to music you hate/dislike?

Only thing that really disturbs me is some death metal... I'm relatively okay with that song, and most death metal. I guess what grinds my gears is the even heavier death metal songs... With guys. You know, when they do their deep manvoice groan demon growl roar scream stuff. Yelling and whatever is fine, but that... puu.sh/5xZrc.jpgAlso anything with lyrics like... www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/hinder/getstoned.htmlBesides that, I hate tasteless rap (grime)... And the boring stuff the mainstream media throws out. Like dubstep (not all of it is that bad, but meh, I can just grind a blackboard and I'd be listening to the same thing) and pretty much all the stuff celebrities come up with... Mostly generic pop I guess? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just don't get it.

Maybe this thread should be changed to music you hate/dislike? Maybe, but that would make the thread redundant when people post their list of most hated genres. Disturbing, on the other hand, you can still like and share, because disturbing doesn't always equal bad. So in other words this thread is like the 'music to share thread' and for stuff like silent hill or pop songs that you really hate- either because they're dark or because your disturbed at their popularity. It doesn't matter. Just generally sounds that give you mixed feelings with unease being the major one. EDIT: So yeah music I dislike usually includes heavy death metal though there might be some exceptions, but I don't listen to it. And as stated above, the popularity of certain mainstream artists and their work does disturb me when it comes to their popularity.

It doesn't matter. And here I was about to exaggerate my dislike of, well, pretty much everything that isn't metal or at the very least rock. It's much less funny when you outright state the thread isn't specifically about things that disturb you on a psychological level. And it wasn't funny to begin with, so that's saying something. To actually answer the question, At this point I'm used to the fact that all the best music is stuff hardly anybody listens to, but that doesn't change the fact that I hate the music everybody listens to these days. Also I have no idea when country became anything but a niche genre but suddenly it's all over the place and I don't like it, either. Specifically death metal or metal in general? There's a distinction.

As Death Eye said, there's a distinction between Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, White Metal, and black Metal etc. Btw, black metal is anti-god, while white metal is pro-god

I'm not about to argue over music genres, and I'm not sure what you mean by 'funny', death eye, it's just a random thread idea I thought up. I just happened to find that song disturbing, especially in context. I'm not here to attack death metal, or heavy metal, or whatever, I'm sure there's distinctions but I'm not really interested in the genre, but thanks for pointing that out for future reference. I've heard some metal songs that I've liked, and some that I've disliked. In general I'd say that I'm ok with heavy metal but I don't really like death metal from what I've heard. Never heard of the other music types that Riku mentioned. White metal does sound interesting, though.

I am disturbed by modern Christmas music. I hate it. It harshes my chirstmas spirit mellow.
Like seriously, old christmas songs are great, they remind you that its a jolly time of year, the promote family togetherness and all that good stuff.
The new stuff is like "have a rosy rosy christmas." The only thing i can think this means is that you drink so much at christmas your cheeks are rosy. Bleh stupid next song.
And then several christmas raps which all suck.
Followed by metal and rock bands covering old christmas songs, which wouldnt be bad, except they over embelish it and drag the song down.
Worst part was i had to listen to these awful songs at work all day. And for the rest of the holiday season too.....
Oh and im sick. So im already not in the mood. Yay modern "music" arists for ruining yet another tradition i enjoyed. Jerks.

I just happened to find that song disturbing, especially in context. I'm not here to attack death metal, or heavy metal, or whatever You misinterpreted my post so hard right there. I was referring to me exaggerating my dislike of music I dislike. It wouldn't have been funny in the first place, and the fact that you outright stated that the thread's not exclusively about music that's disturbing on a psychological level would've somehow made it even less so. I don't even really care if you (or anyone else, for that matter) says disparaging things about metal, in fact I'm more bothered by the fact that you thought I did. I even mentioned in my post that I'm used to people not liking the same music as me, so I'm not sure where you even got that idea. I just prefer people to have an informed opinion before they write literally all metal off as grown men doing their best impression of a bear. I'm not really going to be pushing the issue here if you're not especially interested, but I feel obligated to point out that Riku completely missed some of the more non-death metal stuff i.e. power metal, symphonic metal, progressive metal, etc.

I can't stand it, they almost ALWAYS sound bad. The ONLY artist I can think of who sings old christmas songs well is Cee-Lo Green.

As far as a song that actually disturbs me, I have two. One was literally made to disturb, the other is part of one of those gaming creepypastas that got me.
Giygas's Theme - Earthbound
Can You Feel the Sunshine? - Sonic R (Google the Tails Doll curse.)

No, the song is good if you don't know about creepypasta. Otherwise, that song is nightmare inducing. Both of those songs give me the creeps now... *shivers*
