So, I've been interested in this series for a while now. I'm gonna buy the Kh1 Hd remix, and a friend is gonna lend me Birth By Sleep along wih a psp. I can't wait to play.

They're pretty enjoyable games for gameplay, though. But it's such a terrible mess now with new games everywhere, just to have new games. Admittedly, I actually did like Birth By Sleep exceptionally. It felt more like a numbered game in the series than a game trying to force some story in, plus it was a brand new cast of characters that were interesting in three separate stories, and the gameplay was revamped and very customizable. You know, it wasn't about darkness (okay, it kinda was but only for one of the characters) and cloaked guys with no hearts and a heart shaped moon or time traveling and lost memories and all that nonsense. Just a story of three friends caught up in a mess.

Of course, everything else is eh and I want to know when we get KH 3.

Just a story of three friends caught up in a mess. They aren't just released to be released When roxas was first introduced, I'm sure people wanted to be him and see his story, and that is where 358/2 days comes in. It also explains more about the organization and others's roles in it. Coded brings importance to Terra, Ventus, and Aqua in the end. Dream Drop Dostance is actually very relevant to the story to be in KH3. So, the games I order are as follows. Birth By Sleep Kingdom Hearts 1 Chain of Memories 358/2 Days Kingdom Hearts 2 Re:coded Dream Drop Distance Kingdom Hearts 3 They all have their own roles in the story, all with nearly equal importance, except for maybe Re:coded, but besides that, the others are very much relevant.

Their importance, yeah, I guess. Doesn't mean the story as a whole isn't super convoluted and chock full of plot holes. Haha, all of 358/2 goes down the drain at the end. Okay, a Roxas spin-off isn't so bad, but give me a break, the way they fit the entire game into canon is by giving amnesia to everyone? That's about as bad as the Pokemon movies. Don't forget to count the final mixes which only add vague points to the plot (though we never got these releases) and remakes, including that chain of memories one. Great remake? Sure. But why? And Re:Coded... That's not really justified to only make it relevant near the end. The vast majority of the non-numbered games are mostly just going through tons of Disney workds and cutscenes before getting into anything relevant near the end, anyway.

Anyway Claxus I thought the ending to days was pretty sad. It was my first kindgom hearts to be sure But only Roxas got true amnesia, but he quickly regained his memories at the beginning of KH2. But poor old xion was erased from existence. I've enjoyed a lot of the handheld spinoffs and they got me into the series. They were relevant to the story and at the least fun (coded) and the only game in which I started to get a little bit scared for the plot was 3DDD. All the talk about hearts and darkness and nobodies and all that jaz was gold to me but 3DDD undermined a lot of the series and added one seriously huge flaw with the addition of time travel. Namely, time travel in that the main villain was always able to do so since KH1. I know he said that he couldn't change destiny, for some reason, but that doesn't seem to be stopping him replicating himself. Why was it that he was suddenly allowed to do that then and not previously?

Because plot holes to make a new game I'll also admit that my enjoyment of games is scaled against popularity, though. For the most part anyway. I set way higher expectations. Sometimes they're met, sometimes not. Kingdom Hearts just doesn't cut it for me, gameplay aside. The story's too based on vagueness in general. Give me something mainstream and I'll tear it to shreds... Unless I find it worthy. I guess I'm a hipster, much as I dislike that word. I can't stand going with the crowd. I'll just go back to that mech game that came out the other day and was a dead board on GameFAQs since launch.
