Well, of course I had to chase after that man. No matter how I feel right now I can't let it poison my ability to take action.
Well lets go get him then.
... Thanks, good luck.
We chased him for a while. Watching him from down below we saw him make massive leaps across rooftops that seemed impossible for a simple human. At the rate we were going there was no way we were going to catch him.
It soon became apparent however that he had been leading us somewhere specific. At the edge of town there were many frozen humans who had remained untouched. He jumped gracefully down to the ground in a manner beffiting an elegent bird, and he began touching the frozen humans. As he did so, they unfroze.
Behold the true weakness of your power o heart of the shining star. One who burdens choice, witness the final battle unfold.
I have no idea what is going on.
Hmph... you truly disgust me. It is time to turn this world into the schism of black and white, so that this tale may reach its climax.
The man threw the thread of sunlight into the sky, and in no time it had latched onto something invisible high in the sky. Tugging on the now rope like strand of sunlight, he appeared to tear down the sky itself. Bursting threw the daytime sky and creating a massive hole in its wake was the moon connected to the sunlight. It resembled a wrecking ball destroying a building on a galactic scale. How could anyone be that strong? This had to be some kind of illusion or magic. The moon itself was so close to the earth that even down here I felt the force of its gravity upon me, and I could see the detail on its huge body. Spreading out like a thick miasma was darkness, and it infected the daytime sky, turning it gray.
Ugh... I don't believe that someone with such power exists. He managed to combine the powers of both myself and Luna into a single world!
Correct. I intend to defeat the infuriating one and push the one who burdens choice into choosing the world's own fate.
Now's not the best time. The last thing I have on my mind is... this!
I still couldn't quite comprehend what I was seeing. Now more than ever I had no frame of reference for what was happening. This world seemed broken to its core, and everyone expected me to fix it? No thanks.
Is that you, Minus? I didn't think that you would pull such a silly stunt so soon!
Too my horror I saw Wolley standing behind me with an army of loyal subjects and the nightime brainless people who were kept in check with chains. He seemed to be refering to the newcomer who had just brought down the moon.
Ahh it is you. Good. I called down the moon specifically for this purpose. I recommend a swift surrender for a painless and noble death, so that he who burdens choice may have greater clarity in his decision.
Sol dragged me away, looking as though she were about to throw up.
Luna's soul is fighting for dominance... without a magical system, it'll be difficult to stay in control when I want to. I suppose it will be up to you who you want to stay near you now...
I was barely listening to Sol as I saw Minus and Wolley heating up. Wolley had a huge army but Minus seemed to be able to take control of any of the humans he had unfrozen. As Wolley marched upon Minus, Minus watched calmly as bombs which he had presumably set prior to the battle exploded, blocking Wolley from himself and, thankfully, myself and Sol.
Take this.
Minus strided confidently up to me and handed me the sunlight he had used.
Once either myself or the infuriating one is deceased you will be able to use that to forge a path to the sun or the moon. Either way, you will remake the world according to whichever goddess wins you over. It is my hope that you will take a side and help end this war as soon as possible.
Minus left without another word alongside his army, allowing me to finally focus on Sol.
I'm glad that we have some sunlight but...
Yeah. I guess I'm going to have to keep the soul inside you that I want stabalized, right?
Right.
I had really done nothing to deserve any of this... dammit, what makes me so special? Is my self esteem too low or did literally everyone get the wrong idea about me? I suppose its time I really got down to business... choose the girl, kill the enemy, change the course of humanity. No big deal.
