Luna's face looked grim, and I felt a shiver run down my spine as she opened her mouth to speak. Surely she wouldn't, I mean...
I will not stand down.
You... you... how could you...
I'm sorry, Cipher. I can't lose to Sol. We only needed to you to play fair, and, in truth, you have proven to me that my beliefs are correct. I hope you'll forgive me someday.
So she didn't she need me to fulfill her ambitions? She's willing to betray both me and the divine agreement she had made with Sol? Hadn't I been helping her out despite her lunacy? Hadn't we been growing close! Well, of course. I should have known this would happen when I first saw her true face- she acted tsundre, but she's rotten to the core. She created this world, this situation, and she has dragged me into her squabble. I'd been deluding myself. Perhaps it was just Stockholm syndrome. Yeah, of course. It had to be. I managed to fool myself but... I was clinging to her for survival. How could I have been so deluded? It's clear now. I will have to crush her. Maybe I can convince Wolley to let me kill her as myself. Despite my anxiety, I had felt nothing killing for the first time. I hadn't even had a chance to think about my actions before Wolley appeared before me, who made a fool out of me in this manner. He's no better than Luna... possibly worse... but he showed me something today. Similarly, Luna also showed me something. Humans are rotten, especially the chaotic ones. This anger... this deeply cut feeling of betrayal and despair... when I'm feeling this angry, when someone I trusted- in the guise of my lover no less- after all that has happened to me, how can this desire for revenge be wrong? It feels so right... it has to be...
You must be joking, you bitch! I will never forgive you for this, and I hope someday to save the body and soul of the person who gives my life meaning, the body you have corrupted. I will reach inside of Trinity, take your soul, and crush it in the palm of my hand.
Cipher, I didn't...
Luna looked down, as if she had just regretted her decision. Good. She created chaos, so she should expect her emotions to feel chaos too. You will not take my life for granted.
Was this fast?
Yes. That's what chaos is, it's fast, emotional, ever changing. And in all honesty this wasn't out of left field. I'd never agreed with her suddenly forcing her way into my life and my world, how she killed my fellow man and expected me to support her. She is manipulative scum, who almost managed to get me onto her side. Chaotic people get ahead in the world. But they build up negative karma, and justice will eventually restore their imbalance. I will be justice's tool for this job.
My my you sure change at the drop of a hat! In any case, I must cut off the theatrics. Close off the barriers! Let them struggle in their sticky demise. Now then Cipher, I rather look forward to ending your sanity.
Indeed, his men closed up the barriers as the superglue began to fill up. It seemed like a harmless joke, but as it grew into a lake of sorts, it became apparent what a scarily destructive and horrific force it was. Luna's men found their fingers and feet stuck together, hair began getting torn out all over the place as hair glued to parts of their body, and this always came away with a little bit of flesh. Clothes stuck to their body, mouths and eyes were glued shut, blinded or unable to breathe properly, especially as the glue went up their noses. Luna, however, was careful, and she managed to climb onto a side of the barricade that had been jutting out and climb into one of the windows, and kill the men who had been pouring glue from there. She could stop Wolley's men from making the situation worse, but Luna's men who had been left down there were still doomed to a slow, restrictive death. Even Luna looked over the thick, white and bubbly lake in horror. There could be no way of justifying such a sick method of killing, and even someone like Luna could see that.
... Good, Trinity is safe.
At least Luna was reliable for something. When I was satisfied, I turned to Wolley.
That wont be necessary. I willingly submit myself to you.
Oh, errm... well this is certainly boring... know any jokes?
Jokes? JOKES? This is my life! I am giving you the person who at least one of the goddesses who govern this world chose, the person they chose to decide the fate of everything. I have power, but give me physical power, and I am telling you now that I will willingly crush anything and anyone in your way! And you want me to tell a joke!
Ignorant child. You are the the true yellow belly. The lemon impaled on a stick in the mud. I could not possibly work for someone so stupid and so serious. And I thought I was the Wolley! Perhaps you don't understand that submitting yourself means obeying orders!
... I hadn't considered that. I suppose this idiot was of no use to me, then.
Yes, I'm sorry mister Wolley, I shall obey. Why so serious?
Bubububu... I like your style of reference. Maybe you'll surpass me someday... in any case, lets call this a big lipped spotted yellow alligator moment and give you a chance. Untie him!
As soon as I was untied, I picked up the rope and threw it out the edge, back where we had come from on the other side of the street. I quickly scaled down it, burning my hands as I slid down the rope.
Not quite as smart as you thought, eh? In any case if I'm making references I hope you haven't rubbed off on me too much... so, I'll get you next time!
Gah... he hit my weakspot! I always treat people who make refereces with more respect than I should! I would have gotten away with it...
You're both fuckin retarded...
... IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOUR THEATRICS! AND YOUR DAMN REFERENCES! I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!
As I ran, I eventually came out of earshot and began rambling to myself.
I have to formulate a plan... yes... Luna cannot be permitted to stay in this world! Eh?
I spotted some of my former army. It made sense that some would survive, and hide, given how I had been leading the main force. Even so, the remaining were only about half of Luna's diversionary force, at about 15 people.
Cipher buddy you're ok... You seem different.
Luna betrayed us, and as you may have seen, there's another out there with an even stronger army. I should hope that I should seem different! I'm angry goddamit!
But... would she really do that?
You think that your leader is lying? Of course she did! Her very first act upon finding you people was to kill two people to instill terror. She was a tyrant, an unusually charismatic one, but still a tyrant. I will value your lives if you follow me, and help me take her out.
... Yes sir, lead the way.
We continued to walk for miles and miles. Hopefully Luna would have retreated back to her former barricades, and I needed to put some distance between us. I tried to stay clear of anything that may lead us into Wolley's territory. As the sun rose, however, we managed to find a block of buildings surrounded by Luna's plants, surrounded by many of the unkilled zombie-like people.
No... don't tell me we have to fight...
No, you don't. I'll forge a path, then just head on through.
Cipher...
Quiet! And that is sir to you!
They all nodded, and held back. I took another bat from someone, so that I would be dual wielding. I wasn't combat trained- but I had some steam to blow off. Not like these sub-humans were particularly skilled anyway. I had felt bad about killing them, after all, one might be able to return them to normal. But try telling that to those who had already died at Luna's hand. Luna had made them this way, but they weren't human anymore. They wont permit me to return the world to normal, and in Sol's world they'd be inactive anyway. I had to take responsibility, and end their suffering.
Of course, as I beat up wave after wave of them, feeling their blood splatter against my skin and clothes, I couldn't deny that the catharsis was greater than anything anyone could ever feel in their life. As I beat down on them, I beat down on all of my problems, of Luna, of Wolley, even Sol. Then came all of my minor school bullies. Those teachers who had given me bad grades, my parents who had yelled at me. The government who governments who waged war using innocents as weapons and hostages. I beat up on them, and the world, and realized something. The world's fate was in my hands- I hadn't grasped it, I hadn't cared, I'd wanted to return this world to normal and live with Trinity. But I underestimated my power. Luna may have given up on me, but I could still force her to do whatever if need be. I still have more right then anyone else. Maybe I could make a better world for Trinity. I'd have to choose carefully- in any case, I was free. They wouldn't let them dictate my decisions. As I killed the last one, I burst into insane laughter.
HAHAHAHAHAKAKAK *Cough cough....*
... I guess I'll have to be more careful next time...
*Cough...* wow... it's funny, me, a human, declaring power over Goddesses. Heh.
I woke up the next morning to feel sunlight on my face. I suppose I must have passed out, because it looks like I was carried inside, if the frozen guy next to me was any indication. I'd been washed up, thankfully, and I felt much better, much more calm and prepared. I stepped towards the window and stared up at the blue sky with renewed confidence.
1) Go look for Sol
2) Spend the day Preparing for the night by building barricades and carrying frozen people over to your base, hoping you might convince them to join your army.
I will not stand down.
